Total BS..it wasnt Lombards exciting style but no way he lost this fight…. Boetsch didnt do s***, backed up the whole fight, WTF did he do???????? Jesus!

Haha, not so cocky now, eh Lombard. Bwahahaha.

stefano Says, in 7-22-2012 at 00:46:06 from

Wow tim got that win gift wraped for him. both men looked beat in the 3rd round but i still had hector up on the score cards.

Wow worst ppv card I’ve ever scene I don’t know about u guys but the prelims were good but the main reason I bought this ppv was for the hector fight not did he choke but wow worst UFC debut by a fighter that hyped in a long time

KouNTa KuLCHa Says, in 7-22-2012 at 01:03:48 from

What a debut…knew it would be lame. I was hoping for a Barbarian KO, but a crappy split still takes home some dough. ;)

sad puppy Says, in 7-22-2012 at 01:04:22 from

thanks bruno, thanks for nothing lombard

a2k Says, in 7-22-2012 at 01:05:01 from

Don’t know why everyone is so outraged by the result. Granted the fight was pretty close but usually when fights are that close the judges look at who was the more aggressive fighter. In this instance Lombard just stood there throughout the majority of the fight. Didn’t engage, wasn’t aggressive…he deserved to lose.

wEz Says, in 7-22-2012 at 01:05:57 from

Wow. I liked Tim in this fight, but he didn’t win. Don’t like Hector but he he did win the fight…seen worse decisions as it was a boring, ugly, fight but the wrong hand was raised none-the-less.

lastusername Says, in 7-22-2012 at 01:16:17 from

Whether he should have won or not, Lombard completely sucked tonight. WTH was his strategy? After tonight’s performance, why would anyone want to see him fight Anderson Silva? Over-hyped and overrated.

Genghis Khan Says, in 7-22-2012 at 01:16:43 from

Send this bum back to Bellator…so glad the decision wasn’t given to Lombard. Just had no will to fight.

Pikachumanson Says, in 7-22-2012 at 01:18:36 from

Terrible fight. Could’ve gone either way but I had Hector winning.

KungFuLowKick Says, in 7-22-2012 at 01:24:16 from

Backed up landed a couple of punches a fair bit of kicks. But what did Lombard do,stand there like a tree, and miss 3/4 of his strikes.and 1 takedown.

Oswald Cobblepott Says, in 7-22-2012 at 01:25:38 from

Correct decision for a boring contest.

morbidcro Says, in 7-22-2012 at 01:29:27 from

I hate when people complain about decisions like this. Neither deserved to win. They both did NOTHING. When 2 fighters barely do anything, it’s hard to pick a winner. I’m very disappointed in Lombard and it seemed like Boestch did slightly more and got the win. If it went the other way I wouldn’t care because they both looked pitiful.

hond2dciv Says, in 7-22-2012 at 01:32:12 from

That s*** should be overturned and ruled a no contest.

Nothing happened.

straightAhead Says, in 7-22-2012 at 01:43:52 from

Other than land a few leg kicks i fail to see what the phuck Tim did to deserve the win?!?!?

Lombard took tim (an accomplished wrestler) down in every round and landed several strikes a couple of which rocked Tim and had him moving backwards.
Yes it was a boring fight (in fact the whole card was boring) but clearly Lombard did waaaaay more to win.

The judging in MMA is the worst in sports and you fans who think Tim won are the worst fans as well

FailSonnen Says, in 7-22-2012 at 01:49:56 from

Lombard landed more significant head strikes that did damage, he landed that kick to the liver which did a lot of damage and he scored that massive takedown….meanwhile Tim danced a lot.

AussieMMA Says, in 7-22-2012 at 02:28:46 from

Pretty disappointing performance from Hector. Win first look good second at this level Shango!

Ruddo293 Says, in 7-22-2012 at 02:38:14 from

And i made a comment a couple days ago saying what if lombard lost his UFC debut… and even more what if he won and he looked like crap. Either way, he looked like crap win or lose. This is not UFC title shot worthy, Anderson would destroy him!!!! Boestch would also get destroyed…

Ruddo293 Says, in 7-22-2012 at 02:40:04 from

And if that was Lombard fights like that, he’ll probably lose to most guys in the UFC. Sonnen would have his way with lombard

Marc Says, in 7-22-2012 at 03:01:12 from

Dream Machine… Says, in 7-22-2012 at 03:59:11 from

Hector sandbagged it. He wants Mark Munoz.

anderson cheats Says, in 7-22-2012 at 04:20:51 from

Boetch fell for the hype and gave Hector too much respect, looks like Hector is a little fish in a big pond now that he’s in the U.F.C.

Machete Says, in 7-22-2012 at 04:22:13 from

That’s the worldbeater (Lombard) that’s suppose to give Anderson a challenge. Listen closely, Lombard has absolutely nothing for Anderson. Anderson would pick him apart with his reach. Lombard needs to cut to 170, middleweight is not for him.

ETK Says, in 7-22-2012 at 04:37:26 from

Lombard won. He was very conservative with his energy and paced himself well.
Boetsch lost. He jumped around with a lot of useless movement burning energy.

gphilos Says, in 7-22-2012 at 04:49:11 from

i guess this was a close enough fight to give it to the white man…. forrest griffin vs rampage style. not anywhere near the worst judging but I had hector easily winning 2 rounds. time for hector to fight munoz like he wanted then bitchbing and if he can clean those two up his title shot is still there. lame fight not just a lame decision.

gphilos Says, in 7-22-2012 at 04:51:33 from

and the thing is also if hector somehow knocked boetsch he said he still wanted to decline the anderson fight scared or not. this COULD (not has to) easily be the way the joe silva wanted it to happen cause from a marketing aspect how can you put a winning lombard vs munoz without everyone thinking wtf?

Ozinator Says, in 7-22-2012 at 05:19:30 from

I like Rogan but I hate the people who listen to him and think he’s always right.

Why should Lombard do more than he did and why shouldn’t Forest Grif….ER ummmmm..Tim Boestch not?

So he loses the fight because he is the better fighter and people wanted more excitement from HIM? Insane

porco_dio Says, in 7-22-2012 at 05:24:09 from

The brand is dying.

kdaddy61987 Says, in 7-22-2012 at 06:12:01 from

A couple of things, 1 hector won the fight. Tim didnt hurt him and he ran so hector was inactive but he landed more shots and did more damage. 2 i miss pride so much!!!!!! Anyone remember when rampage got that yellow card and ko the other guy in like 5 seconds. Hector is 3x better then this guy and it was very clear tim isnt at his level.

amer Says, in 7-22-2012 at 07:27:38 from

carefulwhatuwish4 Says, in 7-22-2012 at 07:48:06 from

Hector wanted to fight Munoz so bad he had to lose this fight on purpose so now Dana can feed Hector to Munoz or vice versa….all the excitement surrounding the MW division just deflated like a flat tire…….bring on Weidman vs Belcher or Bisping vs Vitor…

Rocco55 Says, in 7-22-2012 at 08:15:29 from

Boetsch threw nothing of danger the entire fight, definitely took more damage. Lombard looked lifeless but landed the heavier, more effective strikes.

ironfist Says, in 7-22-2012 at 10:51:49 from

i was so bored by the time this fight came on and these two just gave me a headache. WTF was Lombard thinking just standing there must have really wanted Munoz afterall. Boestch leg kickin his way to victory is sad. Neither deserved to win this one but imo lombard should have got the nod even though i was rootin for tim

KungFuLowKick Says, in 7-22-2012 at 11:27:22 from

I want to know what Lombard was thinking.Does he know that you have to move your feet in a fight??Was his strategy really to stand there and wait for Boetsch to get in front of him, stop moving and exchange with him??Or does he have such a poor cardio that it’s the most he can do??

iWay Says, in 7-22-2012 at 11:36:52 from

this was a very w e a k card altogether. it should have been a free FOX or FX event, not a PPV

NotVinnieJones Says, in 7-22-2012 at 11:37:20 from

Who cares if some fans think that LOLmbard “should” have gotten the decision? If people don’t like it, then blame it on Lombard because, as Dana White says, don’t leave it in the hands of the judges. Lombard did just that, and this is the outcome. After all the hype this guy turns out to be another Houston Alexander haha

j172 Says, in 7-22-2012 at 11:48:37 from

like others said, he threw the fight to get munoz. Tim was open to much and getting clipped but hector never jumped on it because he really wants munoz. he said he wanted munoz next no matter what. he did not unload and blitz like he usually does or tim would have gone to sleep. hector knows he could make it to the top but sacrficed his debut to get munoz. just wait until he fight mark and the “shango” will come out.

NicksBrother Says, in 7-22-2012 at 14:24:02 from

Boetsch won. I was not expecting that type of action at all. I thought it would be Hector winning by stampede, or Tim winning on the defense/comeback – not that. I hope they’re both taken out of the title picture and that Weidman gets Silva or the winner of Stann v Bisping for contendership.

NicksBrother Says, in 7-22-2012 at 14:26:03 from

And I have to agree with Dream Machine.

Ibunn Says, in 7-22-2012 at 15:46:22 from

exactly right, too many low quality ufc events now. The move to fox was a mistake, it was better on spike. Shittty events like this not worth buying the ppv. They keep this up the brand will die

Sammy Says, in 7-22-2012 at 19:35:30 from

Mag Says, in 7-22-2012 at 19:37:16 from

Horrible fight but I cannot see HOW it was possible that Tim won that fight. The scoring in the US under the ridiculous Unified Rules is just insane. A new system is needed urgently.

SEAN_VANCE Says, in 7-22-2012 at 20:46:27 from

@KungFuLowKick he didnt do s***, and Im not defending Lomabrd he sucked too, but the BArbarian turned into a total bitch and Lombard was running on a single AAA battery….and still landed more significant shots and actually hurt Tim…either way both of these guys need to go to the bottom of the latter, total s*** fight

skifri3 Says, in 7-22-2012 at 21:05:53 from

I don’t understand MMA-fans who complain about “too many fights”.

Without fights, the only way fighters actually move up and down the ladder is via hype-machine.

If a card sucks, just read the results later. I love football, but there’s no way I can sit through every NFL game. The idea of cutting down on events to stack cards is bad for everyone, especially the fighters.

JJ Says, in 7-22-2012 at 21:17:25 from

complete bs. There is a difference between underdelivering and losing a fight. Boetch didn’t even hit him once properly and got hurt a couple times, taken down etc. It was all just a few and far between, but give me a break. There was no doubt that Lombard won it 3-0. It was like showing that Boetch is so clueless that to beat him he doesn’t even need to sweat. That’s bad attitude towards fans and his opponent, and of course UFC, but it doesn’t automatically mean that he lost the fight. Becasue there is no way in the world he lost it. Boetch didn’t score s*** – null. He was backing of and getting smacked or taken down from time to time – that all. Lombard looked like he didn’t even have to bother to beat Boetsch and now this guy will maybe fight AS? nonsense

Nexstory Says, in 7-23-2012 at 00:09:49 from

Lombard could have easily won the fight had he used speed and agility in addition to his power. I don’t get it. He lost in my book for not trying.

Vincanni Says, in 7-23-2012 at 00:26:54 from

I had it 30-27 Lombard, albeit narrowly and unimpressive.

psxdogg Says, in 7-23-2012 at 01:29:33 from

Wow I can’t believe you uneducated morons.

Lombard had the perfect strategy to beat Boetsch and he did! Lombard BARELY GOT HIT and he obviously knew what he was doing.

One does not stay like that in front of an opponent unless he knew what he was doing. He CLEARLY KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING!

I think @Nexstory was one of the judges

psxdogg Says, in 7-23-2012 at 01:31:29 from

When Bruce said one of the judges scored the fight 29-28 for Boetsch I was like F*** NO!

What fight were the judges watching? Obviously not the Lombard-Boetsch fight because IT CAN’T BE 29-28!

They were not even close rounds at all

ETK Says, in 7-23-2012 at 02:12:03 from

I think the comment by JJ might be correct.
I didn’t realize it.
Maybe Lombard fought that way to intentionally show disregard for Boetsch, by walking straight up to Boetsch and stopping and standing in front of Boetsch.
Maybe Lombard was making a sort of statement.

King Says, in 7-23-2012 at 03:28:26 from

wow this was sad and we have blind judges

t-berra29 Says, in 7-23-2012 at 05:36:16 from

WTF lombard. Wat kind of performance was that. i was expecting some fireworks for this fight but all i got was lombard being a bum looking all slow. and people actually thought that this guy could take out the Spider hell naw.

Wilbur Says, in 7-23-2012 at 08:11:10 from

Based on this fight, even Lombard and Boetsch together couldn’t take out Silva.

kbf Says, in 7-23-2012 at 12:01:21 from

This fight looked Fixed.

NotVinnieJones Says, in 7-23-2012 at 20:10:57 from

@psxdogg if his plan WAS perfect he would have not have left it to the judges, now, would he? But his gameplan for the most part of simply standing motionless to the point of having the whole arena booing his performance and being basically unimpressive to the point of losing the decision would be by definition be imperfect, or more accurately: flawed. Even he himself said it wasn’t his best performance. So even he would disagree with your analysis that his strategy was “perfect”. Everyone knows by now that in the UFC that its all about wowing the judges and winning over the crowd. Lombard did neither and instead played it safe. Thats how he wanted it, and thats what he got, which cost him the decision. Case closed.

This isn’t hype Says, in 7-23-2012 at 20:31:44 from

greatest fight in UFC history!

Nexstory Says, in 7-23-2012 at 21:44:20 from

This fight wasn’t about Lombard standing in front of Boetsch and not getting hit as his perfect strategy. This fight was about Lombard making a major statement to Dana, the media and the fans that he is the baddest dude coming after Silva’s belt and throne.

Bottom line is win, lose or draw, he blew it coming out of the gate. Blame goes to his coaches. The man did not perform.

anderson cheats Says, in 7-24-2012 at 09:51:08 from

Boetch hurt his foot in the first round, and Hector still couldnt beat him.

mmafan Says, in 7-24-2012 at 11:50:08 from

thats why I keep saying the scoring system is stupid. When there is no clear winner, the fight should be a draw, period. Wins should be earned, not obtained just because the current system likes to award someone with a win. When both fighters do not do anything, I would be in favor of giving them both a loss, when both fighters put on a great performance but are even, they could get both a win.

rickjames Says, in 7-25-2012 at 02:34:32 from
