Smack you’ll find there’s a large group here who really have no idea what Wanderlei Silva has brought to MMA. He’s a stud and as far as I, and many others are concerned, the best 205lb fighter of all time.

His record speaks for itself, the guy was fighting top competition from before he was 20. He was a bare knuckle Vale Tudo Champion in Brazil by the time he was 21, guys like Black Gerbil have no clue what they’re talking about.

Mezger was the better fighter in this one, I think, but it just goes to show how quick a fight can go bad for a fighter - don’t think he ever cleared his head after the first dazing, just kept lining himself up for more :-/

Silva destroyed rampage twice in pride. Silva’s also starting to wash up. It’s a shame, but you can only do this kinda shit for so long. After 9 bare knuckle fights, and 29 other fights, taking and receiving numerous knock outs, the body is going to give out. If only he could still soccer kick and knee downed opponents….

I’m getting pissed at people who say wandy is overrated. I think he is one of the greatest 205ers of all time. Sure he’s had some bad fights, but go watch some of them and judge if he’s not the a great fighter. sure he’s lost to belfort, ortiz, liddell, etc. some people just have bad fights. I especially hate when people mention his losts to Heavyweight fighters like Mirko and Mark hunt. I wanna see those people fight guys much bigger than them. those peopel dont mention his wins over great fighters. Let’s get one thing straight. The reason Wandy lost to Chuck is very simple. Did we see any of his muay thai or jiu jitsu technique that led to KO’s or stoppages in the fight against Liddell that we have seen over the previous years in his Pride career? No, we didn’t. IMHO it was a fight of Pride rather than winning or losing. He was just exchanging blows with Liddell the whole 15 minutes. No strategy was used at all in the fight against Liddell. His pride may have gotten the best of him in that fight. [imho] 7 or 8 times out of 10 he would beat Liddell. Wandy will b back in it with Liddell sooner or later after Shogun avenges his loss with brutality…
