Anderson is too smart to go into another fight with Chael and not vastly improve his takedown defence and wrestling. This will be a much different fight than the last one. I am not taking anything away from Chael, of course he can still win, but the fight will be different.

all i know is chael looked like s*** against bisping. the first fight chael had 17x the T of a natural man. 17x the T is a s*** load!!! without that advantage I seriously doubt he can repeat. I think we see a Newton type of finish from anderson.

I think Chael is going to find himself on the end of a nasty kick for TKO/KO by 3rd round…and still have a problem living Brazil. They take their carrot eating horse-buses seriously over there.

newmmfan1 Says, in 2-9-2012 at 13:06:59 from

where are ppl getting this 17x number? i remember watching the commission hearing and they were testifying that he was actually within the limits but measurably high. If it was 17x how could that possibly be within the legal limits?

shocktime Says, in 2-9-2012 at 14:12:45 from

Roids are a helluv a drug. Chael is screwed without em. I agree with guys above. Anderson gonna be training wrestling and off his back with Brock Lesnar probably.

Buster Hymen Says, in 2-9-2012 at 14:45:11 from

There was zero roids ever detected. It was T and he even informed the commission in writing months before the fight of his medical condition.

If you are going to dog the man, at least don’t do it talking out of your ass.

failsonnen Says, in 2-9-2012 at 14:51:54 from

17x? Why didn’t he go super saiyan then?

Tempted Says, in 2-9-2012 at 14:56:22 from

If Chael shows up to fight Silva like he did at the Bitchbing fight then he might as well walk in, tap, and walk out.

gripman Says, in 2-9-2012 at 15:30:39 from

Before you knock Chael’s outing vs. Bisping, remember that styles make fights. Bisping is a good striker that is especially hard to keep down. Chael looked bad, but there is a reason. At least give a little credit to Bisping…he doesn’t suck.

mmafan11 Says, in 2-9-2012 at 15:51:08 from

Silva will wear a native Kilt with no underwear like the Tribe he practiced wrestling with.

Silva will smother Sonnen with Hairy Balls tap out, B-J-J :))

Doyle Brunson Says, in 2-9-2012 at 16:59:36 from

Sonnen is doomed however you look at it. Either he gets knocked out/submitted by anderson (i think this will happend) or he wins and gets murdered by a rioting croud of crazy brazilians

mmatinker Says, in 2-9-2012 at 17:37:27 from

Silva via stoppage by Ref. Sonnen will not get out of Brazil alive…..some suicide bomber will be out there somewhere…..

ttt Says, in 2-9-2012 at 18:48:12 from

I see Silva improved take down defense n submit Sonnen again. I don’t Sonnen Winning.

Common Sense! Says, in 2-9-2012 at 20:23:45 from

I do believe Silva will be 100% ready to win this fight in Brazil. I believe he will try to dance around (like he’s done in the past) and pick Chael apart with strikes. On the other hand, Chael’s not that stupid and will bull rush Silva if he has to, just to put him on his back. I just hope he’s worked on his submission defense. Besides that, I think having that close/tough fight with Bisping is the best thing that could have happened to Chael. He knows now not everyone will be as easy as Brian Stan. Especially Silva in Brazil. Go Chael!!!

jake Says, in 2-9-2012 at 21:05:14 from

Yea I think this 17x testosterone level was just made up. I remember reading and watching the commission hearing and it wasn’t that he was above the limit, it was about how disclosed the information.

No it wasn’t steroids either for all those shouting that he was juiced. He just failed to correctly disclose that he was using Testosterone replacement therapy.

But I agree, Silva with a better rib, and improved take down defense, will prove to be a different fight.

mrl Says, in 2-9-2012 at 22:30:44 from

If Silva hasn’t learned take down defense by this stage of his career then I’d seriously doubt if he’s capable of learning it at a level where it will be affective against an Olympic caliber wrestler like Sonnen.

mrl Says, in 2-9-2012 at 22:32:23 from

Silva’s only chance is to catch Sonnen in a submission again. I’d be putting money on Sonnen to win an ugly 5 rounder.

TransitionTR450 Says, in 2-9-2012 at 22:47:07 from

Sonnen will do exactly the same as last fight! Take Silva down and try and pound him out. Chances are he’s worked more on his sub defense than silva’s worked on his takedown defense. Silva seems somewhat arrogant and doesen’t believe there’s anyone in his league. That could be his downfall if he doesn’t work on td defense!

steamer Says, in 2-9-2012 at 23:36:12 from

First of all I don’t understand all this “Silva learning take down defense” business. During his meteoric rise he stuffed plenty of take downs from guys that weren’t exactly new to wrestling. Getting taken down by a wrestler of Sonnens caliber who just so happens to have the testosterone levels of a horny 18 year old when you are fighting with a busted rib doesn’t say much. To the people who say don’t judge Sonnens chance based on his performance in the Bisping fight, I say the only reason you shouldn’t is if you have inside infor that they intentionally had him fight like s*** and bought a decision just to make everyone think he has no chance in this fight in order to sway the odds and make the bookies a buck or two. Otherwise, Sonnen is dead meat.

steamer Says, in 2-9-2012 at 23:41:42 from

oh….and BTW, doesn’t look like GSP plans of fighting anytime soon. he looks skinny

Bernardo Says, in 2-10-2012 at 00:48:17 from

Silva’s gonna pull off an amazing KO! I can’t wait to see what he has up his sleeve!! Brazil won’t attack Sonnen and if they did I’m sure Anderson and all the Brazilian fighters will defend Sonnen and calm the crowd down.

Dave Says, in 2-10-2012 at 03:16:53 from

Chael looked like crap with Michal bisbing and I thought bitchbing actually won that fight. so if he comes to fight anderson silva the same way as he fought bitchbing he will have no chance of winning, unless he completely changes other wise I see Anderson wining easily.

mmafan400 Says, in 2-10-2012 at 11:38:28 from

okay guys, first of all, you all have to come to the realization that about half of UFC fighters are on roids…they cycle like in every other professional sport to avoid the testing.

Second, anderson will beat him into a bloody pulp because chael can’t surprise him this time. Plus, anderson looked like he was out of it the first chael fight, before the fight he just walked to his corner and sat down until the fight started, really weird

MattyP Says, in 2-10-2012 at 16:41:50 from

For all you geniuses out there who keep saying that Sonnen “did not use steroids, he used testosterone”…. testoSTEROne IS a STEROid produced in the body, and elevated levels are an unfair advantage. He tested positive because his levels were elevated (from Testosterone Replacement Therapy, which is legal but his treatment was inadequately monitored) and he did not “properly” disclose the information (which is illegal). For those of you who really believe this guy’s claim that he properly notified the commission, probably also believe when he says in several recent interviews that he is “the undisputed champion and has never lost”… I’ve never seen a non-champion fighter garner so much attention, this is not WWF.

T’Challa Says, in 2-10-2012 at 18:54:13 from

@MattyP Thanks for dropping some sense into this post! I can’t see Sonnen winning, he’ll find a way to choke.. again.

I’m not sure if Sonnen is “smart” enough or “stupid” enough to have a less than stellar fight Vs Bisping, so that people/Silva especially will think well Chael isnt that good blah blah blah. The question is … did he try to look less than stellar to get Silva thinking that maybe he/Sonnen was lucky in the 1st fight, which would take 2 HUGE nuts to try & pull that off, b/c the down side is … what happens if he would have lost. It’s all just speculation at this point anyway.

kRiSt-YaHn Says, in 3-2-2012 at 05:51:36 from

FYI: People who think Sonnen looked bad Vs Bisping are not giving props to the right guy. I think Bisping is definately top 5 in the world, in the MW division. Those who say Bisping “sucks” or hes overrated, I think you are an idiot. I hate Bisping, but hes a good fighter. 1. You dont make the UFC if you are s***. 2. You dont have a 22-4 record if you suck. 3. He has 4 losses & 3 of them were to former CHAMPS (Evans, Henderson & Wanderlei) & the 4th was Sonnen who beat up Silva for 23.5 mins, he didn’t just beat Silva, he embaressed him, sure Sonnen lost, but he landed more punches in 1 Round than most of Silvas oponents combined. I think losing to Sonnen is more of a compliment, than losing to Wanderlei (OLD Wanderlei).
