Greg Jackson Says Dana White Is Wrong About GreaseGate

UFC President Dana White said in a recent interview with the Canadian Press, “he was confident Georges St. Pierre’s corner men were knowingly cheating by applying Vaseline to the fighter’s body.”

Dana’s comments were mostly aimed at Phil Nurse, who within the rules, applied Vaseline to St. Pierre’s face. Later though, Nurse was seen rubbing St. Pierre’s shoulders, chest and back as part of St. Pierre’s breathing technique. NSAC members twice had to wipe down St. Pierre and warn his corner about using Vaseline on the Georges’ body.

If it was Bjs man putting vaseline on Bjs face then his back and chest people would still be crying fowl,GSP fans would be claiming it was fixed if Bj won after his corner put vas on his face,chest and back.I know some people think it changed the outcome of the fight,i dont think so but we will never know if Bj could have ended it with a sub if the vas was not on his back.Even a tiny ammount can help sink subs and or escape subs.Next time you roll,that is if anyone here does, put vas on your back and see what happens.

GSP is a great fighter and doesn’t need to put vas on to help him win,everyone should know that by now.Its a shame this happend.

I agree, this is still much ado about nothing. GSP has dominated everyone in his path. Greasing is not needed. Perhaps, had BJ had him in a fight-ending triangle and he escaped, we might be talking about a rematch, but this had zero impact on the outcome.

i’m a fan of both fighters and like most people, i also believe that gsp dominated all four rounds of the fight and the greasing didn’t make a huge impact for gsp’s victory..however, the gsp win and how great he did it are not the point of bj penn’s complaint here..the point here is that gsp’s camp ‘unknowingly’ did an obviously illegal move and that’s what penn’s camp is complaining about..let’s be open to all angles of the situation, the resolution of this controversy helps penn get over his loss quicker and in a way, it helps gsp too..you see,when gsp gets more wins in the future without the grease issue,those future wins will be more convincing and of course,he will further cement his pedestal in the welterweight division — all these things for gsp after the gresing controversy’s resolution of course..come on, we all probably have gone to competitions before and as competitors,we want a clean competition whether we’re winning or not.

i haven’t heard any word about this from any sort of authority that would actually be able to disqualify gsp and his corner, or fine them, or what have you. so to me that means that even if they did cheat, they’ve determined it didn’t effect the outcome of the fight.

To sum up all this talk and waste of time. Either GSP did not cheat and that’s why he hasn’t been punished OR he cheated and bribed the whole UFC, LVSA, and any other authorities to say he didn’t.

I’m a fan of both fighters but I as rooting for BJ…do i think the outcome of the fight would have been different? no. BJ didn’t train hard enough for it. Do i think that GSP’s corner knowingly put vaseline on his back and shoulders? absolutely. Do i think GSP is on HGH? again, absolutely. The UFC doesn’t test for HGH as their isn’t a urine test for it yet and apparently the blood tests take too long, therefore they just don’t test for it. In the end HGH isn’t illegal in the UFC so I can’t really hate on GSP for using although I would prefer if he and other mixed martial artists didn’t go that route.

Let them fight one more time and let that be the end of it.
