The fight between Gray Maynard and Joe Veres was one of the shortest matches in UFC history. |
After the two came out and touched gloves Veres looked to shoot in and Maynard caught him with a quick left. It sent Veres to the mat and Maynard jumped on and pounded out two more shots to make sure he was out. Mario Yamasaki pushed Maynard off Veres and the fight was over at officially 9 seconds of the first round.
Knowing Joe very very well, let’s just say he deserved this one! He always chokes at big events and obviously isn’t ready for UFC. Knowing him, he never will be. He’s a training room fighter, not an “in the ring” fighter. He’ll choke every time.

grey maynard is a more aggresive version of randy coture. Give grey a couple of years and he will be a great fighter and maybe even a champion. Spence, you are right. maynard is a beast.
