GSP never comes out to fight, he comes out to Rub up all over you and tries to just stay on you the whole time. GSP is the by-product of ufc hype & marketing at it’s finest. Although not a terrible fighter by any means; but let’s not forget he was KO’d by a lightweight in Serra. Don’t anyone get the idea this guy could move up in weight and fight the Spider or Hendo because he’d be devastatingly KO’d. A nightmare match for GSP would be Nick Diaz the only way GSP could win that one would be by a premature stoppage due to a cut.

Alves was broken down and destroyed just like Kos and Fitch. If you thought the fight was boring, you need to do research on GSP’s opponents. He beats them at what they are best at. It was very impressive what he did to Alves.

GSP, Matt Hughes, Koscheck and the rest of the former wrestlers all try to win by points. Score a take, hold (stall), win the round, win the match…boring…The only ground and pound happened in the second round. GSp is a takedown specialist. He has a lot of standup skill but is a afraid to use it. At this level, MMA shouldn’t be about winning by points but by trying to finish the fight. MMA, Mix it up a little. I’m not asking for ko’s everytime. I a huge fan of bjj. Especially high risk submission attemps and transitions. All the best fights included guys who put all on the line.
