GSP is a coward that’s why he apologizes after every one of his recent fights. Diaz turned his face purple in 2 mins of the 3rd round when GSP wanted to test him out. No warrior, a real warrior wouldn’t respect him. This is mma not wrestling. Diaz makes sense with his point deduction idea for holding on the ground and doing virtually no damage at all. GSP face was purple his side was red and he was gassed.

Nick got owned. I’m no big GSP fan, but I dont care what you say about his style of fighting, he sticks to his game plan and sticks to his strengths. For all of nick’s talk, he should have known what GSP was gonna do. No excuses.

Ground St. Pound Says, in 3-17-2013 at 02:40:24 from

Other than a quick flurry of punches, Nick did precisely NO damage! No problems on the ground, no outboxing on the feet…. Georges’ jab did work again and snapped back Mr. Diaz’ head over and over and Nick had nothing for the “strong wrestler” on the ground. Now, will Nick pass the drug test?? Still, gotta love the kid.

DavidJones Says, in 3-17-2013 at 02:44:53 from

diaz is so overrated, yeah, he can beat some guys at lower level, but top ufc guys will always beat him. gsp, condit, Hendrix, Ellenberger, marquart, koshcheck, even Hathaway or sanchez, will beat this bum, anyday, he beat bj at 170.only thanks to cardio..

Boxing is still way better more action more fighters, gsp is athletic thats y he “chose” to lay and pray, Nick looked better after the fight than before, “GSP YOUR SO DANGEROUS” , THATS FUNNY DIAZ GOT PAID AND TOOK ZERO DAMAGE, ENNJOY YOUR PAYDAY

PalladynPL Says, in 3-17-2013 at 03:05:25 from

Nick is good at bjj so in this fight one could really see now how good GSP is at controlling. He gave Nick a chance to utilize his ground game many times and was stopped. This fight was very amusing if you like standup only just stick to boxing. Left jab , right jab and hug.

WolfTickets Says, in 3-17-2013 at 03:21:01 from

Congrats to GSP and Hendricks. I love watching MMA and the UFC, but really enough is enough. I try and get people i work with, my friends, and random strangers to watch this sport, but its really tough to get people to watch this when there is so much emphasis on wrestling. Diaz is right when he says, “nobody wants to talk about it”. We all know, whether you like to admit it or not, that this wrestling bs is BORING and stalling a fight is BORING, and holding on is BORING. I can appreciate that GSP dominated, but again… BORING. I almost did an impulse ppv buy, but rather waited for the highlights, because we all know GSP will NEVER finish a fight EVER again. zzzzzzzzz

palimpalim Says, in 3-17-2013 at 03:55:10 from

T’Challa Says, in 3-17-2013 at 04:08:47 from

Diaz is a straight bitch. He did NOTHING in that fight, after all that talk, then he has the nerve to show up at the post fight presser disrespect GSP, make excuses, and have the nerve to ask for a rematch. GSP is the most dominant welterweight of all time. If you don’t like his style of fighting, DON’T WATCH. If you don’t like wrestlers, LEARN HOW TO STOP A FKN TAKEDOWN. The Diaz freak show is over…

PatrickN Says, in 3-17-2013 at 04:20:34 from

shocktime Says, in 3-17-2013 at 04:26:28 from

I think GSP is garbage now. He can’t finish anyone! His fights are extrORDINARYLY BORING! Makes me respect A. Silva and Jon Jones, so much after watching GSP. Those two guys finish the best in the world. GSP can’t even finish a bum like Nick Diaz. He’s strong as a ape on pcp for his weight class, that’s the only reason he continues to win fights. He’s the best boring fighter there is

Dharmaboy Says, in 3-17-2013 at 05:52:36 from

@Young/Dumb- Did you not see gsp landed more shots standing? Are you blind or just dumb and butt hurt because your “boy” didn’t win.

Everyone has to understand that all fighters are getting better and better. That is part of the reason gsp does not finish as many fights. He is the best WW of all time. Its mma not boxing or K1. I for one have liked every gsp fight to date. There were good shots landed, nice ground work/positioning and plenty of will power to push through when he was tired.Diaz impressed me with his take down defense in the later rounds along with his being able to get back up.Both guys should be proud of themselves.

Nick did well… I suppose considering how many failed takedown attempts GSP had during this fight. Not only that, GSP has been known to be good at holding opponents down for majority of the rounds, however, to Nick’s credit, diaz was able to get the fight back standing on several occassions.. Nick lost, GSP won bottom line. With that being said, GSP, please don’t fight Anderson Silva… It would be lights out!

There’s a explanation for the reason why GSP fought his last 4 fights in Canada. In every other places the crowd whould buuu him all night for not fighting for ko. I’m tired of having the same wrestling control and a bit of stand up to say that he can stand. What you do now ecoes to eternity. GSP always will be remenbered for the guy who couldn’t finish a fight. I can’t get excited watching that. It’s alwyas the same sh***t man wrestling control rough them up and them a litle stand up but don’t try to finish. GSP is just boring and I just see his fights because of the hope of seeing him get knock-out. Thats just sad

Haze Says, in 3-17-2013 at 09:15:18 from

@tg GSP laid on him for 25 minutes? Go back and watch the fight, he gave Diaz half the fight on the feet and he still could not do anything with it. Diaz just had no answer for a well rounded opponent.

dub Says, in 3-17-2013 at 09:41:08 from

tg and others above are faags. They need to take Nick’s weewee out of their mouth. I’m not a super big fan of GSP, but he does not lay and pray. GSP is always pushing and doing damage, ground and pound. Hendrix did a lay and pray on Condit. Hendrix literally did nothing to Condit after each take down. And for TG, Nick’s little bittch. More than half of the main event took place on the feet where GSP was dominating Nick as well. GSP gave Nick 14 minutes to capitalize his slapping and he couldn’t do shiiit.

truemmafan Says, in 3-17-2013 at 10:04:39 from

Hate to say I told you so, BUT I TOLD YOU SO!!! This ended worse than the Kos./Cond. fights as Diaz was not able to employ anything. Again, this was an easy payout for GSP and Diaz knew that he was not deserving. Hendrix needs to work on several elements, but clearly has a better chance of victory. Diaz time to retire, drive your wambulence elsewhere!

Joe Dog Says, in 3-17-2013 at 10:12:51 from

Everyone predicted how that fight would play out. Nonetheless, Diaz heads back to California to count his share of the “wolf ticket” money. Now the fans wait for GSP vs Hendricks. The only mystery is whether or not Diaz will test (+) for mj and get his pink slip. ? I think this is the last time we’ll see Diaz in the UFC. If I’m correct, the best Diaz fans can hope for is a Paul Daley rematch.

Dave Says, in 3-17-2013 at 11:37:03 from

lets be honest here, GSP over struck Diaz on the feet or on the ground by almost triple, even though I wanted to see Diaz do more.
Diaz was rag dulled by GSP and got completely dominated to the point it looked like a completely one sided fight.
**I wanted diaz to have a chance to win but after I saw he tried sucker punch GSP from behind after the round was over I completely lost all the respect for that idiot.
GSP gets bruised so easily lol people think he has been in a rough fight seeing his face but that’s not the case.

Rugburn Says, in 3-17-2013 at 11:56:31 from

I’m pissed at Diaz bc his dumb ass should’ve prepared better for GSP’s wrestling. If he was smart he would’ve taken GSP down and give him a taste of his own medicine & maybe even submit him. Instead the clown kept going for the standup fight. How I see it is if you can’t stop the take down or get out of a wrestling move well then you need to evolve bc this is MMA. So hats off to GSP and his boring style bc he wins fights.

Rugburn Says, in 3-17-2013 at 11:58:32 from

There needs to be a new rule added to UFC quickly…when on the ground if your just holding positions and not threatening to finish with submission or punches back to the feet. Only fighters threatening to finish should be allowed to stay on the ground!!

KungFuLowKick Says, in 3-17-2013 at 12:06:11 from

Like many others commenting here, I think it’s amazing how many morons
watch MMA. I’m not a hater of either of these fighters and I’d prefer to see a finish, no matter who won. But, … Diaz was totally disappointing. He had plenty of time standing and didn’t use it. He wasn’t aggressive. He was dominated in all aspects. He’s done. Get used to it.

jdogg Says, in 3-17-2013 at 12:45:56 from

Interesting after Diaz wins a fight, he’s motivated and wants to fight the champ. After he loses, he’s tired of fighting and wants to retire. I’ve heard his sad little song and dance before. Pathetic.

DanielMcfate Says, in 3-17-2013 at 13:07:49 from

I think GSP is a fantastic champion, but that comes with a caveat that I starting to find his fights boring. Yes, his style nullifies anyone he’s in the ring with and I understand his amazing BJJ defense but it’s still boring to me. You can call me an uneducated MMA fan (to which you’d be wrong) but his style just isn’t that exciting. I get it, he’s trying to win, and he should but I would never pay to watch one of his fights. Just my 2 cents.

Roe Jogan Says, in 3-17-2013 at 13:16:13 from

Joe Dog Says, in 3-17-2013 at 14:07:33 from

Gsp boring?….Yes, but he knows exactly how to win a fight, and it’s his opponents who need to figure out how to beat him… not him to change his style. Unless your the one in there doing it stop your bitching, they would both more than likley have you crying in under a minute. As far as Anderson Silva vs GSP no chance GSP would last even 1 round & I think GSP fans won’t push for this fight as they did years ago so its gonna be the ASvsJJ super fight & JJ will crumble MARK MY WORDS!!!!!

PitfighterZ Says, in 3-17-2013 at 15:13:33 from

Just some numbers:
Official numbers from Fightmetric: GSP outstruck Nick Diaz 210 to 80. Significant strikes 105 to 40 GSP. Nick got only 1 submission deep enough to actually count. GSP got 9 takedowns in 16 attempts.

Even if you think GSP is boring, Nick must be a snooze, then. The few moments where they were trading strikes, Nick chose to pace uselessly instead of fighting.

Enough of this soap opera. How about Diaz v. Koscheck; loser leaves town.

The Heckler Says, in 3-17-2013 at 15:30:02 from

You stupid ball licking bitches! If Nick is such a bad ass on the ground he should of used some of that BJJ and submitted George…..GSP dominated him, it’s a f****** fight if you don’t like the guy laying on you do something about it……

Young Says, in 3-17-2013 at 15:41:21 from

It’s really funny that people would really defend someone like GSP. That’s shows what he’s doing to the sport, bringing all these fans in here that really defend and loves the way he holds people down. Pretty soon all you’re going to see is all the up and comers want to hold people down thinking that’s the for sure win. A real man takes risks and goes for it. And if GSP BEAT HIM STANDING UP, WHY IS HIS FACE SO MESSED UP, cut under bother eyes and his nose. GSP didn’t do anything to diaz literally he couldn’t even cut his scarred tissue. Laying on someone is not mixed martial arts! That defeats the whole purpose of the damn sport that’s what none of you little spectators don’t understand and won’t understand cause you fans like these love and praise a fighter that doesn’t do anything. All this training and that’s all he does, throw strikes to set up a takedown GSP doesn’t strike to knock people out. Coward

danada Says, in 3-17-2013 at 16:08:08 from

I wanted Nick to win, but I’m glad George used his wrestling. If St. Pierre chose to stand up and then go for a takedown in the last minute of every round for points like he has his last few fights, then this fight would have been even more boring. I’m glad George decided to play to his strength in wrestling and dominate the aspect of the game that he’s dominant in. All said, Diaz took it a lot better than a lot of other challengers did. He even stuffed some takedowns, and Nick’s weakest aspect is his wrestling. Diaz took a lot less punishment than other guys George has wrestled and ground and pounded. All in all it was a pretty good fight. They’re different types of fighters but George did the right thing. If GSP tried to win the fight on the feet ala Condit vs Diaz and just backpedaled and jabbed the whole fight it would have been very bad for the sport. Kudos to both for going hard for 5 rounds. Great cardio on display.

To all the Diaz apologist (aka C*ck suckers) and GSP haters. Everyone and their mother knew GSP’s game plan and his style of fight. Well ALL knew he was going to take Diaz down and ground and pound. Bitch and whine all you want Diaz did not have any answer to fight off GSP but stuffing very few take downs. Diaz got frustrated and stooped to a cheap shameful level of trying to cheap shot. I hope he retires for good because he has no heart left for MMA. He’s done washed up head case. A true champ wouldn’t give up and talk retirement after each loss, and would not bitch about how he got held all fight… Guess what its MMA and in MMA there are wrestlers who take you down. You want to keep the fight standing up? well learn better take down defense and change up your style to keep your opponents up.

odin Says, in 3-17-2013 at 17:25:16 from

Stuppin’ Hawking The Fing Genius Says, in 3-17-2013 at 17:27:39 from

To all the Diaz nut huggerz and people complaining about wrestling in MMA I have recommendations:

1. Go watch a Tough man competitions where both guys are half drunk and throwing haymakers before they gas 1 minute and 8 seconds into the first round, but please, go away.

2. Watch Boxing, Muay Thai, Savate or Irish shin kicking where there is only 1 martial art …and it’s a striking art…no wrestling, and please, go away.

3. Start your own sport. You know one that works exactly the way you think it should and see how far you get, and please, go away.

4. Stop sniveling about “boring” pay per view fights that you didn’t pay a dime to watch, and please, go away.

5. Back fighters who can stop a take down and not just fighters who are your kindred spirits because because you both smoke pot and blame everybody else for the f’ed up your life is while you refuse to get your head straight and drop the pipe, and finally, please go away.

I don’t understand how people don’t get that and nick sucked for all his bjj talk and boxing cause he trains with Ward blew up in his face

I have a confession to make. Earlier this week I predicted GSP would dry hump Diaz and leave with a sore unit and Diaz would leave with the belt. GSP did dry hump but followed up with some nasty G and P. GSP outworked Diaz in the standup (but Diaz worked round 3 as advertised). That said GSP did what he had to do. He outfought Diaz on the ground and standing. Diaz can’t say all GSP did was lay and pray. This was a competition and GSP showed why he’s on top.

thats just how i feel Says, in 3-17-2013 at 23:18:57 from

i am a Diaz fan. the first couple rounds made Diaz think about the take down which is why Diaz didn’t strike much on the feet in my opinion. gotta give credit to Georges game planing and strength and conditioning training. with that said gsp cant fight fire with fire witch is why its hard for me to respect him as a fighter. wish there were more rounds or longer rounds

Does anyone on here realistically think Hendricks has a chance? I’m giving him decent odds. He’s a fantastic grappler in his own right and a tremendous power puncher. He was definitely issuing octagon control and landing some clean hard shots with those power lefts.

My money would still be on GSP, but I’m stoked to see the Hendricks/St. Pierre fight.

GSP wins by dry humping, no surprise here. Diaz would kill him in a boxing match.

“Nick Diaz is the most disrespectful human being I’ve ever met, and I’m going to put the worst beating you’ve ever seen on him in the UFC”… GSP must have missed quite a few UFC events then.

Diaz got completely owned and dominated for 5 rounds……HaHa

All you need is cardio and lateral movement to beat Diaz’ stand-up. Face it, he doesn’t have the skill to beat the top, well-rounded athletes in MMA. I mean, he job jabbed and super-man punched to death by a guy with a shorter reach. And then his BJJ was completely nullified. Granted, he made it difficult to ground and pound him but if you want to blame someone for a boring fight, blame Nick. What happened to the fast-paced, 5 punches a second Nick? He was nowhere because that guy doesn’t exist at the elite levels.

You’re basically saying GSP fan are uneducated about MMA and fighting, but your way to judge stand up fighting is by how much a fighter is bruised or cut??

There seems to be a large contingent of people posting comments along the lines of “If you think GSP fights are boring, you don’t understand MMA.” I, for one, can appreciate the skill and talent GSP possesses and his ability to dominate and control his opponent, yet I still find some of his fights rather boring.
Yes, we could all watch other forms of fighting as ‘Stuppin Hawking’ (who thinks quite highly of himself according to his moniker) suggests, but many of us enjoy MMA and the nuances of this fight form.
GSP is a smart fighter who sticks to his game plan and is able to out point opponents. I think he is a great champion but his style is simply not very exciting to watch. Again, just my opinion and I am not trying to change yours.

I love what I’m reading here! Some of you guys are honestly saying that although GSP outstruck Diaz on the feet and on the ground, and although GSP landed more significant shots, he should change his style so that nobody accuses him of laying and praying?? For real?? That’s how some of your brains work?

The champ should change his style to one that gives his opponents more chances to win? Really? You really watch MMA for that kind of dumbing down to the lowest common denominator?

I can understand not liking his style. That’s your prerogative. But suggesting he should change it is immature and stupid.

For someone who is garbage, GSP seems pretty unstopable! Hendricks was lucky the fight was not 5 rounds or he would not be fighting next!Condit was brilliant for this fight!
GSP could let his hands go more, he is a bit gun shy now as his chin is not the best but so far they are having trouble beating him and I dont see Hendricks doing it either!
If GSP getS confidence in his striking someone is in for a real beating!
