Hughes got what he deserved. He was so happy when GSP lost to Serra that the only way GSP could restore his dignity would be by beating them both. Which he successfully did. Jon Fitch is next.

I am Canadian too and I have high regards for both Matt Serra and Matt Hughes. The UFC is an international sport and respect should be shown because their talents and not their origins. Enjoy them instead of mocking them because they are not from your neck of the woods.

I agree with Dave G.S.P is the man and so is Silva I would love to see them fight if that would ever be possible. Ive tried to read as many comments as I could above me and I would like to say
Its not about what country you come from but how much you train and what you know and how much heart you have. I am happy to see G.S.P representing Canada well in the ufc and too all these “aint pierre” talkers what does that even mean yall can blow some more dick for dollars I do respect Matt Serra for winning the first match but He is outclassed and outskilled. I have also seen Matt Hughes whoop many a chump but its just not happening anymore.

The last Serra St Pierre fight came out exactly as expected. Serra was so outclassed, he looked like a newbie.

For those who say Matt Huges is washed up, Huges deserves all the kudos he gets for his performances over the years. Except for GSP, who else could beat him today? I hope he continues to fight. I would still love to see him fight Serra.

Like others, I think a great fight would be Anderson Silva and GSP. The problem is the weight class but, if they made it monetarily worth their while, we could see it.

Silva is almost as skilled as GSP and has ferocious knees and elbows. I would even give Silva a slight edge in standup. Both deadly dudes.

GSP is a greater fightr, no doubt about it, but Matt Hughes will alwys be the greatest welterweight there ever was and i think that fighting at his prime, matt hughes could have destroyed GSP but hes getting older now so its alot harder for him to keep getting in the octagon

Say what you want about ‘Aint Pierre’, sounds like anti-Canada stuff to me. I call it like I see it and St. Pierre has beaten an American UFC icon twice in Matt Hughes, not to mention BJ Penn and Josh Koshcheck. He’s earned his props. Everyone loses eventually so don’t give me this Matt Serra ‘39 punches’ as if it were Muhammed Ali(?) ‘fly like a butterfly’ skillset that nobody has witnessed until that particular fight.

killing dillatantes, ok take er’ easy there guy. I’m pretty sure everyone’s reference to ‘lucky’ is with respect to the right hook that shook up GSP and had him seeing stars. Thats the only punch that matters, thats the one that WON him the fight. I don’t know why you keep saying 39 like it means anything… Ever try and punch somebuddy after they’re already shaken up and seeing stars? not exactly a difficult task. A dizzy person, who can’t see straight is an easy target. The reason people say lucky is because statistically it’s unlikely that a shorter guy (Serra) is gonna land a close range punch (right hook) on a taller guy (GSP) when he has less reach. Not to mention all the other factors, like the fact that GSP has BLATANTLY displayed repeatedly that he’s the more gifted, talented and athletic fighter… Sorry if I sounded subjective just now but I love GSP and I sincerely believe he’s the future of the welterweight division. I’ll end this little rant by saying: We’ll see what happens April 19th…
