He’s my joint-favourite fighter, but I won’t go that far “GJJ Brown Belt” . He’s definitely one of the most allrounded, but we haven’t seen enough from him yet to suggest he’d be able to deal with Anderson Silva’s strikes, let alone his Nogueira JJ which choked Hendo out for the first time.

The Serra fight will probably give us some more answers.. like “how good is his chin” and so forth.

Anyone else notice that the UFC is quite liberal with fighters’ heights? Mac Danzig was listed as 5′8″. Now on the official card, he’s 5′10″. This is just one of many examples that I have seen. Not that it really matters but I just thought this was kind of wierd.

Was that a body shot at around 4:03 that stunned Hieron or was that a hit to the face? At any rate I think GSP is going to win this weekend. Wow, lots of good topics here, James: the height thing is a tricky one, but hydration, posture, age, the instrument being used and dipshit officials can all be factors in accounting for differences in recorded height. Whos gonna win this wkend? I’m gonna say GSP. It’s his time. He deserves that belt. As for GSP vs Silva, or Silva vs BJ, It would seem who moves up/down would have a lot to do with the outcome. All are tremendously skilled and talented.

Pure domination by GSP, the only man who can stop GSP right now is GSP himself. As a proud Canadian I would love to see GSP hold that welterweight belt for a long time. I would also at some point love to see GSP fight Anderson Silva at a catch weight of about 180. Title match or no title match it does not matter because it would be great for the sport, #1 vs #2 pound for pound fighters in the world toe 2 toe.
