GSP should retire so he can just chill and play poker with hot chicks!… Anderson to. They’ve made enough money!

I actually agree with him 100%

Wow! That is a good idea.

MMAGiantSilva Says, in 7-8-2013 at 14:15:51 from

GSP is spot on and now finally the undisputed greatest champ in the UFC. In many people’s mind’s this was the case even before Silva lost embarrisingly but now it is blatantly obvious he is the best.

shznatty Says, in 7-8-2013 at 14:46:43 from

@mmagiantsilva. How does this make GSP the “undisputed greatest champ”? He got submitted by hughes and after he won the belt he got KTFO by Serra. Silva has only one loss.

Ground St. Pound Says, in 7-8-2013 at 15:08:33 from

is he “spot on” when he says Silva is definitely the best ever and that his strategy with Weidman almost worked but that he probably did it too long and got caught?

I appreciate Georges’ saying that he was surprised that Weidman’s ground and pound couldn’t do the trick and that even though he caught Silva, Silva is still the best. I appreciate that honesty….

shocktime Says, in 7-8-2013 at 15:19:22 from

MMAGiant did you forget GSP had the same thing happen to him? Matt Serra ring a bell? and when is the last time GSP has finished a fight. He is the most boring UFC champion in history to watch. That’s not a exaggeration.
This loss is going to make Silva go Mike Tyson on dudes. No more bs just straight killer mode. I feel bad for his next opponent. Facing a motivated Silva is bad for you health.

Moedawg Says, in 7-8-2013 at 16:00:31 from

And the Anderson Silva debates continue….

Silva s’got 5 lost fights not 1

Danby Says, in 7-8-2013 at 16:42:38 from

I think anderson is kinda like fedor was, he is just tired of fighting and wants to spend time with his family. You’ll probably see him fight again, but maybe not for a long time.

Remember, these fighters kinda have shitty lives. They are training all the time, have to eat right, and barely get to enjoy any of the fruits of thier labour.

Let the guy retire, hes had so many consecutive wins. His records going to stand for quite a few years. If not, he’ll turn into fedor and just go in without caring if he wins or loses, throwing technique to the wind.

tjamestiago Says, in 7-8-2013 at 16:43:37 from

shocktime you are “spot on”

MMAGiantSilva Says, in 7-8-2013 at 16:52:11 from

Are you guy’s slow or something he is definitly the longest running undisputed current champion. And to answer your question Shocktime, GSP wen ton to beat Serra in embarrising fashion as well as Hughes I have a hard time seeing Silva doing this so until than there really is little conversation to be had. But it is apparant that the myth is still real for a lot of you guys.

cheesetoochalk Says, in 7-8-2013 at 17:08:52 from

@shznatty let’ make something clear silva has FIVE losses! I’m a huge fan of both but don’t judge some1 for an opinion like that when u don’t even have ur facts str8

Sean Wooldridge Says, in 7-8-2013 at 19:10:32 from

GSP got caught 6 years ago and it is widely considered the biggest upset in MMA history. Silva has 5 losses. I realize that only one has been in the UFC, but if we are bringing up freak losses from forever ago, Silva has plenty of those. The only straw that Silva fans could grasp was that it had been longer since the last time Silva got caught. That straw is gone now. I assume that is where MMAgiantsilva is coming from.

inverteddickkick Says, in 7-8-2013 at 19:52:56 from

let me clear everyhing up for all you casual fan noob scrubs that shouldnt even have a f****** opinion. Silva is still the greatest and always will be the greatest. getting clipped on your own terms one time does not undo everything great that has come before. casual fans should just shut the F*** up. thanks.

Dave Thompson Says, in 7-8-2013 at 20:34:14 from

Let me try to clear something up. I have read two comments about St. Pierre being the most boring champion. Sorry, but I believe its just your opinion and you are entitled to it. However the truth be told, he has more fans on Facebook than any other fans, as well as filling out an arena which Silva only did once in his career. People like to think that knocking someone out quickly makes them a better fighter than dominating a better challenger for five full rounds. That is not the case. St. Pierre is a much better overall fighter than Silva and yes he does have more fans. Silva is the twitter king tho, but 80 percent of his followers are from brazil. Im american as apple pie but GSP is my favourite fighter and yes I believe he is better pd for pd than Silva, but GSP is humble and gives that credit to Silva.

dankarelli Says, in 7-8-2013 at 20:57:56 from

Sean Wooldridge – I disagree. I think MMAGiant is probably coming from an insane asylum because he’s ludicrous to think that GSP is the geratest of all time above silva. Just insane.

saywhat Says, in 7-8-2013 at 21:17:02 from

Silva was popular for making guys look stupid and then finishing them when they decided to gamble or stand up with him. GSP is just a winner. You cant dispute that. The fact that GSP was surprised that Silva was able to defend the takedown and can defend on the ground is surprising to me. He thought that Chris would pummel Anderson on the ground. I think GSP believed that he would be able to do the same and it made him think otherwise to be honest. Its stupid to argue who is better. Let them fight if that’s the case. And I dont want to hear crybaby replies about weight. GSP is bigger than his opponents most of the time so please no whining especially if its at a catch weight. I for one would love seeing the fight…pardon me…superfight

armdaddy Says, in 7-8-2013 at 21:26:45 from

I love how guys just hate the lay and pray, but bitch about Silva. He has finished almost all of his opponents in the UFC. I agree, I don’t always like his showboating, but for the most part he is always aiming to end the fight. No matter who you are, there is always that one fight that will get you. Weather or not Silva comes back is completely up to him. To deny his being p4p the best is ridiculous and shows a lack of knowledge or envy.

shocktime Says, in 7-8-2013 at 23:03:34 from

Roy Jones, Mike Tyson, Anderson Silva, Jon Jones. Those are examples of Champs that finish fights! Then you have GSP aka the decision champion of the world. Dude he’s so boring to watch. He’s too safe, too afraid to lose. He can go undefeated for the remainder of his career, but if every win is another boring decision he will never be in the same category as the fighters mentioned above. People will respect Vitor and Fedor more than GSP lol you know its true.
GSP is a fantastic fighter, but no way can a guy who can’t finish fights be considered the best ever.

ml Says, in 7-8-2013 at 23:14:58 from

I want to see the rematch!! I hope Silva takes it. And I want to see him fight without trying to troll his way into his opponents head. It is true that Silva didn’t do anything different and he didn’t just “get caught”. Weidman is simply too skilled for Silva to fight with his hands down. I hope the next fight Silva goes out there the way he did early in his UFC career, with mad killer instinct and his hands up.

Did some p#ssy just say GSP is boring to watch?! His speed, power, technique, and not to mention how active he is is just short of amazing.

MMAGiantSilva Says, in 7-9-2013 at 01:32:45 from

Dankarelli you should work on your reading comprehension I never said he was the greatest of all time. But niehter is Silva I said he is the longest running champion in the UFC and has fought much more impressive competition in the UFC than Silva. Both Facts btw quite insane i know. Not to mention GSP has gone back and killed all the guys that beat him and Silva has 5 losses not 1 ftw. 1 in the UFC and it is among the most embarrasing ass kicking’s of all time. It isw cool you guys fell in love with the flash and the UFC hype machine got you but Anderson is not the best fighter of all time by any means deal with it.

MMAGiantSilva Says, in 7-9-2013 at 01:34:11 from

Not to mention who know’s how a rematch with Weidman would go for Silva I am definitly favoring Weidman in a rematch though that was the best Silva his tricks just didnt work.

Facefrack Says, in 7-9-2013 at 02:24:03 from

I don’t feel that there is any reason to look down on GSP for not generally having the same kind of killer instinct that Silva does. He’s been an awesome champ n avenged both of his losses. It seems more like a reason to look up to Silva to me. I still think that Silva may very well be the p4p best, but also think that designation is pretty silly. Fighting isn’t really the same thing in different weight classes. Silva’s got excellent quickness n accuracy, but most every bantamweight is much quicker than he is. I’m not suggesting that they are better than he is, but that they have to master a different game. I’m impressed that GSP was able to remain so impartial about the fight. It looked to me as though Silva had managed to get into Weidman’s head n was on the verge of totally stifling him. Weidman’s winning barrage was a bit on the reckless side, which definitely tends to play out in Silva’s favor, but Silva just got caught. I could see this fight playing out way differently. I still think that Weidman’s got the best MW skillset to beat Silva, but Silva’s genius is unquestionable. Apart from being absurdly accurate, incredibly creative with his striking choices n viciously acute in his ability to smell blood in the water, I’m not aware of any fighter ever who had such a brilliant ability to get in their opponents heads. Maybe pre-prison Mike Tyson. Maybe Muhammad Ali. Maybe Nick Diaz at his best… But maybe not.

@ Bruno: You’ve done a really good job with this site, but there is one thing I keep wishing for. I don’t know a lot about how these sites are put together, but if it wasn’t too much trouble, I’d love to have my comments linked to my email, so if someone commented on something I said I would be updated about it. I feel like the discussions could end up being richer if the format was a bit more interactive. Along the same lines, it would be cool if we could “like” each others comments. Oh, and I’d also be really interested to read your responses to some of the fights n whatnot. Anyway, thank you for keeping up with all of this. It’s definitely one of my consistent stops when I browse the web.

Bruno: You can subscribe to the comments rss feed (Under Feeds right side), use a feed reader and get live comment updates while you are browsing other sites. I can’t do direct email though.
