He really needs to finish somebody. He hasn’t been willing to pull the trigger ever since Serra caught him Log in to Reply Genghis Khan October 13, 2011 More interested on the Pen vs Diaz fight at this point. Putting my life’s savings on St. Pierre by decision. Log in to Reply Kill em All October 13, 2011 @ brnz Says I agree 100% So to all GSP haters, the next time he doesn’t finish an opponent, blame Matt Serra Log in to Reply noseel October 13, 2011 Condit should bring the fight out of him. Log in to Reply SEAN_VANCE October 13, 2011 Yeah ST Pierre has gotten wayyy to boring….wayyy too conservative Log in to Reply sacramentofan October 13, 2011 Why is everyone so hard on GSP for not finishing guys who are almost never finished? When was the last time Shields, Koscheck, Alves or Fitch got stopped by anyone? Log in to Reply cms October 13, 2011 well Shields just got ktfo…. Log in to Reply tylaman4 October 13, 2011 bing bing bing bing !! .. “sacramentofan” gets the the point !! .. good point dude … Log in to Reply NigerianBoxing October 13, 2011 UFC dosen’t have enough qaulity fighters; point blank!!! Only ones are Silva and Jones. Log in to Reply American MMa October 13, 2011 Can’t wait for the wrestling match.. GSP vs Condit (GSP decision) Log in to Reply Beast w/ 8 Limbs October 13, 2011 @brnz I agree but I disagree that it was after Serra. He finished Serra in the rematch. Greg Jackson is what happened. To their credit, they have some good finishers, Condit among them, but Jackson realizing how smart GSP is, started him down the line of a more game plan oriented fight. The longer GSP’s career, the more potential Jackson has to make off him. GSP wants to finish fights. You can tell that he wants to shake off that conservative style, but just can’t seem to do it. He just doesn’t remember HOW to finish. The guys in Albuquerque not fighting team mates is another of Jackson’s money making themes. Keep the camp harmonious so that fighters stay. Makes sense, but the true fighters, like Condit, take the damned fight without second thought. According to Dana, Condit burst into tears when given this opportunity. I believe in Condit. I think he’s going to be the best. Just not yet. GSP via UD. Log in to Reply Shinka MMA October 13, 2011 GSP is amazing. I like Floyd Mayweather too, though. Log in to Reply Turboobsessed October 13, 2011 Another fighter GSP didnt finish was Dan Hardy. Condit KTFOed his ass! Im more interested in the diaz vs penn fight. GSP via decision(Lay n Pray). Diaz via TKO! Log in to Reply voice October 13, 2011 Why does GSP during PRE-fight interviews tend to have a low raspy voice, not so much this time, but definitely noticeable, and a non-deep raspy voice during post fights? Hmmmm…. Log in to Reply amosaback October 13, 2011 Fighting GSP is like going to a clinic to find out which part of your game is weak. If you have a weakness he’ll expose it, because he’s humble, smart, and doesn’t have a weekness that anyone has been able to exploit so far (except Serra). Maybe if Condit can get inside GSPs beautiful jabs and leg kicks and land a stiff hook behind his ear then it will be lights out for GSP once again. He may welcome that outcome as it would get people to stop asking him about a fight with Silva: something he’s obviously not keen on. Log in to Reply NittsVanDammage October 13, 2011 NigerianBoxing: Where are the top fighters then? Log in to Reply mpicc October 13, 2011 So many people speak about his impressive mental game. I actually think it’s his biggest weakness that he MUST work on the most. In turn, he doesn’t finish fights. Log in to Reply dub506 October 13, 2011 not enough quality fighters??????? That is the smartest comment ever! So i guess Cain, Dos Santos, Overeem, Jones, Evans, Aldo, Florian, Diaz Bros, Silva, Machida, Henderson, Nogueira bros, Mitrione, and so on arnt quality fighters….. Point Blank!!! Log in to Reply sacramentofan October 13, 2011 You got me there cms, but that’s Shield’s second KO loss in a career spanning more than a decade and over 30 professional fights (you also have to consider where his head was at following his father’s death). Hendo didn’t KO Shields and he hits like a freight train. Why should anyone complain that GSP couldn’t pull it off either? Log in to Reply Op_of_Faith October 13, 2011 @sacramentofan-Props on your point!!! GSP doesn’t have knock out power-never has. REAL fighters watch GSP to see his game plan and how he’s out thought and out planned an opponent. REAL fighters appreciate the CLINIC he put on about using a jab verse a looping right when he fought Koscheck. Meatheads think every fight is “Rock ’em, Sock ’em Robot” where there’s always a KO… Log in to Reply marvelous mad madam mim October 13, 2011 holy shit you see that last little highlight they showed? thats the worst superman punch HL I ever seen lol, GSP should be ashamed. Log in to Reply mmaok October 13, 2011 Another domination by the P4P king GSP! Log in to Reply SinkTheHooks October 13, 2011 Who cares why post this? Gsp will not let him get in range, Jake ****ed his eye up when he did and then cried over it.. Carlos will not be able to do MMA because gaySp does wrestling and only wrestling..so boring Log in to Reply gibby35412 October 13, 2011 GSP has definitely become more conservative in his fights since Serra. However, at the same time, he hasnt fought anyone that has truly brought the fight out of him. Thats not entirely his fault. Watch the Jon Fitch fight again, he’s the last guy to put GSP in any kind of fight and GSP definitely WENT for the finish, on multiple occasions. Hopefully Condit will bring the best out of GSP because I think we only see 70% of what he is capable of. Log in to Reply ERsports October 13, 2011 This guy has beaten almost every other world class fighter in his division and you guys complain? I have two suggestions for you…number one don’t buy the payperviews he’s on and number two if you don’t like the way he beats everybody then go spend years training…climb the welterweight ranks and beat him yourself so people can cheer and admire you…Seriously if you want a knockout every time go to a bar…truth is its impossible to find out who the best fighter in the work is because now we have rounds and rules…I mean every fighter can’t throw caution to the wind and get paid…look at Leonard Garcia…every fight is a bar fight and he loses…but your right its entertaining…but at the end of the day garcia is making 20 thousand a fight while the gsp guy you all are calling “gay” is making over a million, getting endorsements and screwing hot women…bottom line although listening to gsp talk and perform is much like fingers on a chalk board if you don’t respect the guy and what he’s accomplished you have issues but luckily for gsp he’s laughing all the way to the bank and could care less what all the internet warriors have to say Log in to Reply ibunn October 13, 2011 he sure does finish fights! and when they finish he is usually the winner. everybody wants to complain about bullshit, stop being so nit picky think GSP fights are boring? don’t f-king watch them! not everyone thinks they are boring what does this guy have to do to impress people? He makes great fighters look like absolute chumps! What more do you want? Log in to Reply murell October 13, 2011 When was the last time rampage finished a fight??? Log in to Reply T'Challa October 13, 2011 I don’t care about his “conservative” style.. as long as he keeps winning and setting records I’m good with that.. Log in to Reply wow October 13, 2011 @ERSPORTS- Kind of hard to not buy payperviews when it’s on Fox now eh? Anyway I hope Condit wins, he’s a beast and fights to win. GSP fights to not lose. Log in to Reply ariel October 13, 2011 GSP is reading these criticisms, and then feeling sad all the way to the bank. If I were an MMA fighter, I’d fight exactly like George does: to win the purse. And to avoid getting knocked the hell out. Log in to Reply casyboy October 13, 2011 carlos will have nothing to do with getting pray-layed on.. guard is way to pro-active, if vasoline is involved it will make for a more scrammbley fight… bj was gassed by time it hit the floor, and we won’t see the same scenario outta condit! Log in to Reply KungFuLowKick October 13, 2011 Anyone calling GSO a “lay and pray” fighter just proves how ignorant you guys are in grappling.GSP goes for passes tries submissions and ****s up guys with GnP.He pounded Serra to a TKO.He GnP BJ Penn so much that he quit and got another TKO.He busted up pretty Thiago Alves with his GnP and his striking. He also subbed Matt Hughes with the same submission Hughes caught him earlier in his career. He choked out Frank Trigg with alot of ease.He also KOed Jay Hieron with is stand up. GSP always dominates so much his opponents and he puts them where he knows they are way less talented then him.He is the Floyd Mayweather(without the cocky ******* part) and Pernell Withaker of MMA.Real boxing fans appreciated Pernell Withaker’s fight style even if he didnt win half of his wins by KO.If you can’t appreciate what GSP does you don’t appreciate technical MMA. Log in to Reply NigerianBoxing October 13, 2011 @NittsVanDammage The top fighters are primarily in the NFL and NBA as well as boxing, Dana White has the UFC setup as a monopoly which I’m not knocking him I would do the same’ it’s just not beneficial for fans because at the end of the day he has a punch of joe schmoes who are excellent athletes don’t get me wrong; they’re just no physical specimens that’s all OF course that’s with the exception of Silva, Jones, and thae up and comer Rory MacDonald. Log in to Reply Hanabahn October 13, 2011 GSP equals the pound for pound most boring fighter ever. Log in to Reply ace October 13, 2011 I much rather watch the diaz penn fight. GSP is boring to watch even though he is the “best” fighter. Afterall, this is supposed to be entertainment not just fighting. who cares if GSP is the champ but he is boring to watch unlike Bones and Silva or Cain. They are champs that are exciting to watch. Log in to Reply KungFuLowKick October 13, 2011 @NigerianBoxer Are you trolling right now?I hope so because if not tell me wich NBA player is a good fighter? And we clearly saw NFL guys don’t do that well in MMA since they fight guys their size.Schaub is good but he was a golden gloves boxer before going in the NFL and he got KTFO by Nog who isn’t a physical specimen. He’s a fighter. And being a “physical specimen” doesnt mean shit because you fight guys your size. Log in to Reply KungFuLowKick October 13, 2011 Also if you watched TUF the HW season you would know being an NFL player doesnt help you. There were 4 NFL “physical specimen” but do you remember who won?Right the fat guy with the huge gut. Why?Because he’s a fighter before being an athlete.Athletism can get you to a certain point but it’s all about technic. And if you take a GSP who is a physical specimen, the guy only needs like 45 seconds to get rid of his lactic acid and he has like 5% body fat,and you give him great grappling and striknig technic then you get one of the best pfp fighter in the world. Log in to Reply sacramentofan October 14, 2011 Adding to what KungFuLowKick was saying: GSP also broke Koscheck’s eye socket (he needed reconstructive surgery after that fight) and Fitch looked like he got dragged behind a truck. Meanwhile, GSP walked away from both fight with no visible damage. GSP sees weaknesses and exploits them, that routine he gives about “being a martial artist” is part of that. He’s not a brawler, he’s a tactician and that’s why he’s held the belt for so long. Log in to Reply EnglishBoxer October 14, 2011 NigerianBoxing? What the hell is that? Swinging machetes at women while balancing baskets on your head? Making sh#t up is your way of venting some sort of misguided anger? You sir are an idiot, and a puss@y. Log in to Reply Corey October 14, 2011 It’s not that every fight should be a KO… its that every fighter should go in the cage with the intention to finish the fight. The golden rule is “never let it go to the judges” However… GSP always grinds a victory via letting it go to the judges. He wins, yes. He’s an amazing wrestler/grappler, yes. He can hang with strikers, yes. But he has no killer instinct. So he wins… and his personality doesn’t allow for him to be a “bad guy” but his fighting style doesnt make him a likeable fighter either. Like someone said up above, GSP makes the big bucks, gets the finest women, and probably doesnt give a shit. But he’s not doing the sport any favors by being one of the hardest to watch fighters, either. Log in to Reply NigerianBoxing October 14, 2011 @EnglishBoxer Actually at the moment I’m sexing your Moms guts and she’s loving it. Your momas guts are kinda loose though I gotta cross her legs as I’m smashing; she’s a floosey but I’m still beating. Log in to Reply Timekeeper October 14, 2011 A lot of good discussion. GSP will be more than Condit can handle in my opinion. With that said anything can happen in a fight and I’ve enjoyed Condits’ fights in WEC and UFC. Ellenberger vs Condit showed Condit can take a beating and come back. GSP will lose the tile as soon as Ellenberger is givin the chance. Log in to Reply fighter27 October 15, 2011 condit by k.o.!!!!!
