Randy Couture was definitely the better fighter in this event. He kept up the pressure and didn’t often give Gonzaga the space to wind up and blast him. On one of the few power kicks that Gonzaga was able to deliver, Couture’s arm was broken, although you would never know it by the way he fought; Randy definitely has heart, I can tell you that.
The broken nose suffered by Gonzaga was a big factor, because it took much of the fight out of him, but either way I think Randy manhandled him. I wonder if Couture had been the one with the broken nose if he would have floundered the same way. I don’t think so, as I am sure his experience helped him hold it together as evidenced by his fracture arm.

You can’t help but admire Randy “The Supernatural” Couture, as he is one of the best in the fight game, and at his age is definitely a MMA legend.

This was a great fight. If the fight had go on the ground Courture would have de disadvantage but BJJ fighters are not so good in clinches but they are excelent on the ground (3D fighting). Great fight….

I knew Couture would win. He is the better conditioned fighter and has more experience in the game. Of course Gonzaga might have better KO power but Couture is a much faster and better skilled fighter.

I believe this is true, Gabriel has a better ground game, than Couture. I’m sure that what Gabriel say’s is really going to be the outcome of this fight. Gabriel’s Jiu jitsu well over power Couture on the ground. I’m also a student of BJJ. I train With Wander Braga in the Gauntlet BJJ, in Upland.
