Frankie Edgar is a true champion, but I sure wish he would have lost. Gray Maynard just cant stop Edgar, too much heart.

Maynard should kick himself in the ass for a year after that dumb, dumb second round. What’s the point of not going for the kill in the first if you are still not going to do sh*t in the second?
Edgar’s stamina and recovery is insane, but I think he will eventually take too much damage if he keeps taking clean shots from heavy-handed guys like Maynard and BJ. Even steel chins weaken after a few tags.

I don’t see who can beat frankie at the moment. Frankie could also hold the belt at featherweight. Bendo would pose a good challenge if he could get frankie to the ground, but frankie would demolish him on the feet. Guida would get embarrassed if they ever fought.
I’ve been a fan of frankie since his first fight in the UFC (mainly because his hometown is not too far from mine, but then he put on a great fight with griffin). He looked very talented when I first saw him, but I never expected him to be the toughest sob out there who is also defending the belt.

Frankie had me jumping up and down with that TKO. Any other night I’d be shouting from the roof tops for Maynard but Edgar is f*cking awesome. I’ve watched Edgar improve and improve over the years and I only see him getting better. His ability to take a punch and recover from it is phenominal. I just love watching him fight. He takes everything his opponent has to give, then breaks their spirit….and talk about killer instinct. Words can’t described how pumped I was for Edgar’s win.

Maynard had success in the first round by countering take downs with upper cuts. He taught to just keep doing the same thing, counter.. became predictable and Edgar took advantage of it. Maynard would have won if he had mixed it up. Live and learn.

God damn that kid just keeps on impressing. Every fight he’s in is dramatic and keeps you on the edge of your seat. And he pulls it off without bullshit antics like Sonnen and Rampage. he makes the fights emotional for the viewer by just fighting the way he does! Edgar is the man! GREAT FIGHT! I love both these guys but I was pulling for Frankie! Did anyone notice at around 5:37 of the top vid, right when Maynard was trying to finish that Frankie hit him hard enough to back up? I think Frankie hits a lot harder than people think he does…Personally it seemed like Maynard was picking his shots BUT he also wasn’t trying to take a hit. That open hand defense he did in the second round is a blocking technique that you can use for attack when you are faster than your opponent, which Gray isn’t. I think Gray was going for the “one hitter quitter” because he wasn’t sure trading was going to work…IMHO…

Frankie would outclass Melendez and Guida, I think if Bendo came in with the right gameplan and performed it perfectly he could win, but even in that fight Frankie should win.

For Other People Edgar Is Too Fast And Too Quick But For Maynard Who Fought Him Before had edgars timing so thats why in the second and third fight maynard hurt edgar. edgar hasnt got any quicker but his skills are getting more and more sharper and hes packing power in his shots now
