I watched the fight on the fight network here in Canada, I have to say that was great.
Both guys are entertaining, but I have to say Le impressed me. It’s the first time I’ve ever seen him fight and I like what I saw.
I read Shamrocks lips when he said I broke something, but I couldn’t tell until later that it was his arm at the end of the 3rd round. That guy must kick like a mule!
I’d like to see him fight another quality opponent again.

Cung is a one trick pony. All he can do is kick. If Frank would’ve swallowed his pride and stop trying to beat a great standup fighter at his own game he could’ve won. Great fight! I predicted that Cung would win because, #1 Frank has never fought anyone that have feet flying around your face consistantly. #2, it is hard to block a kick, since it lot more powerful. #3. he blocks his face, he got kick in the stomach. he block the stomach, he got kick in the face. he was trying not to show that it was hurt, but it hurt like hell. he will feel it in the mornin.

Shamrock fought Le’s fight & couldn’t handle him in the stand-up. Le threw a ton of kicks & didn’t seem to tire at all. There must be some power to them if he busted up Shamrock’s arm. To beat Le you had better get him on the ground or move to your left & throw hard left hooks or straight right hands. Right now he is the best striker in MMA.

What I think will be understood only by real mma fight fans is that Frank’s plan was working until the arm breakage. He was giving Cung a false sense of security and Frnk landed the right hand late in the 3rd. It was looking like FRank was planning to carry the fight to the 4th or 5th before really going for the kill. Watch the Tito/Shamrock or the Horn/Shamrock fight. He did the same thing. I’m not sure if FRank will ask for a rematch though seeing he will be out of action for 6months to a year and by then his age becomes more of a factor. Watching the fight I was wondering why Frank did not take him down and thought that he deserved the loss for being so stupid. However, as one of the commentators mentioned, his knee injury might have prevented him from being able to take him down.
I think the old Frank would have easily won. I think it is time for most of the 90s UFC guys to retire, it is getting embarrasing watching all of these guys that use to be great getting beat by mid-level fighters. I guess we will have to see this again with Coleman Lesnar.

I’ve seen Cung Le fight san shou and blow through opponents like they were amateurs in a pro game. Shamrock stood with him for all he was worth, and if he could have taken him down, don’t you think he would have, rather than absorb all those kicks? No power? For you UFC nut-huggers, all the current ufc champs and top fighters have loss in their career. These are champs were either an average boxer, average muy thai, average boxer, or wrestler and found their niche in MMA. Cung Le is the king of san shou (never loss) and now he’s the king a MMA (never loss). Can you say that shit about anderson silva, george st. pierre, rampage, couture, and big nog? How can you hate cung le that have 24 wins and no loss. Did Cung fight all toddlers? No… He fought all athletes that were all same size and probably train as hard as him. Maybe Cung does an extra set or run an extra mile in the gym; we don’t know. The point is… he whipped all their ass. Nothing you can say that can take away Cung Le career. I guarantee you Ken if Cung Le joined the UFC, he would eventually get his first loss. I’m not knocking on Cung Lee, not at all. I actually like Cung Le (I’m Vietnamese myself), but i think Cung Le hasn’t faced the competition that the UFC has to offer. we haven’t seen Cung Le face the likes of Dan Henderson or Anderson Silva yet. I really do hope he joins the UFC so he can face that type of competition and then we can see how good in MMA he is.
Also a lot of UFC champions aren’t just average at anything.

I agree that frank should have tried more take downs, but when you opponent is Cung Le - you can’t get that close, he’ll kick you in the ribs. Franks problem was his arrogance thinking he could out kick and punch Cung, thats just not going to happen. I’ve read a lot of comments about Le’s inability to KO people, this is a HUGE misconception. Cung choose not to go for the KO, he’s a technician and a showman. His background in Sansho focus scoring points from kicks, punches, and throws - so when he enters the ring he wants to put on a show. If there is any question of the power of his kicks, ask Frank about the broken arm. Imagine if Shamrock had not been able to block those kicks, he’d be waking up from them tomorrow.

Le is 6-0 in MMA- and I’m sorry Ken, but MANY fighters start out 6-0 in MMA. It’s a long list that Le is now on. Let’s see him defend the title a few times and against some more top competition.

Right now EliteXC is spoon feeding Cung Le because he has such a huge following and they want to capitalize on that. He’ll be tested eventually though. They can’t continue to baby this guy. At some point he’ll have to take on a top 5 or top 10 fighter.
Don’t get me wrong. His stand-up is extraordinary. Not only the laser targeted kicks but his hands and ability to avoid close combat is what makes this guy a world champion.
The great thing for us is that he always puts on a show.

Love all these Cung bandwagoners. Cung Le is an extremely talented striker, but something just wasn’t right with this fight. Frank just wasn’t trying, he had several instances to capitalize on either landing a big shot or taking Le down. I think if Shamrock really wanted this fight he would’ve taken a lot more chances in landing some big strikes or takedowns and it would’ve made this fight more enjoyable to watch.
