Too bad they weren't face to face and Franky didn't show him some respect by knocking that geezer out!
F**k traditional kids martial arts dojos. They are all stupid day care center Mcdojos that are a waste of parent's money. Instead of your kid learning how beat down another kid who tries to push him around, junior has to listen to a bunch of subjective philosophical crap by "grand master 6th degree black belt douche bag in his pyjamas with 45 years of experience doing bogus katas who can't fight his way out of a wet paper bag". He has the kids do push ups for an hour and then teaches them some cheesy moves that will just piss a bully off worse and cause him to beat your kid harder. That is the real heinous crime!
A little kid can't hit hard enough to do any serious damage and kids can take alot more punishment than adults. If most adults fell off bikes and skateboards the way kids do they would die! Kids are more flexible and heal up alot faster also. MMA training is "bad" for a kid's psychological development only if you want him to grow up to be a like this
A-hole "debating" Frank.

Comments like "Did anyone else want to beat the shit out of that fat old fuck?" and "does anybody else feel like kicking that fat old fucking retard in the face?" really aren't helping your case against Dan Doyle...

Really, it's a mixed bag when it comes to how martial arts are going to affect kids. It depends on how it's taught to them and what the kid's personality is like. I know it didn't make me a more violent or cruel person. However, I knew some troubled teenagers who were into martial arts, and all it really did was make them more dangerous.

"The Karate Kid" is honestly a good analogy for how martial arts can be either be good or bad for people.

and everyone complaining about doyal and can think of nothing more than wanting to beat him up... get a life... your the ones that make mma look bad... respect what he says even if you disagree... MMA can be great for kids physically and mentally and will make the talent pool for future events amazing, but I cant support it if we dont create more safty precautions for kids.

Frank can not debate... He talks literally about nothing... Martial ares is about dicipline, responsibility and the such, but MMA isn't typical Martial arts... I was raised with Tai kwan do, and I currently practice muay tai and greco roman wrestling... and it is not the same. The amount of full contact these kids are going through is too much. As a psych major, their minds are not mature enough to make sense of this vioence in the way we think that it will, To hear the way some of these coaches(some young enough to be my kid) motivate kids by telling them to get angry and "make them pay" how do you think kids respond to this?. In Formal martial arts students go through forms, stances, and respect to their instructor as not only a expert but a rolemodel (Now let me say now, i have visited schools where i aprove of the teaching styles of MMA with kids, But these videos are too much, and the parents are even worse.)... I guess all im saying is MMA is an amazing sport that requires enormous amounts of dedication and hard work just like any other martial art... but many(not all) of the fanbase and practitionars are nothing more than wannabe badasses, and bullys who ONLY like to be physically tough.

how ignorant this old guy can be omg.... obviously Dan Doyle came prepared... and shamrock was expecting a good debate on mma children instead of defending the sport because another ignorant ( a basketball coach lol .. )comes in to criticize mma.

ive been playing high school basket ball for 5 years.. and sadly to say, i learned more about respect and discipline at my first month of bjj courses... and im sure many ppl has followed a similar path than i did..

i think frank did good against dan on a debate.. and most ppl who criticize mma are mostly ppl who never trained in martial arts before... id like to see Dan Doyle vs Dana White on a Mma debate lol... i dont think his book will worth a penny after this.

CASTROSINATRA, I am a Purple Belt at a Mixed Martial Arts Do-Jo and we have little champions, and the juniors, etc. These kids have more DISCIPLINE than the High School Kids I Coach in Varsity Football.Obviously You know little about the Discipline and Honor involved in the Sport.MMA is not just Ground and Pound. And for the one who would of broken a kids arm at 15,without him starting it,your Instructor would remove you from his Do-Jo.

I started Karate when i was 5 and wrestling at 9. I was always very timid, and would avoid a fight at all costs. It was the big roid-freak jocks that always started fights. Though I only knew a handful of kids who had studied boxing or karate, they were all quiet, well mannered kids. So in response to ColChaotic, kids are going to fight, it just happens, but the ones who have been taught discipline will react more accordingly in my experience versus those who have been taught aggression. Though I dont think 5 and 6 yr olds should be learning MMA, there is nothing wrong with martial arts in some of their simpler disciplines (karate, boxing, wrestling). Furthermore, I got picked on most of my life and never did anything about it, but at the age of 15, I was finally forced to defend myself, and I did so quite well. It's a rough world, don't be a victim.

Honestly, as a long time fan/participant in several sports, I feel, full blown MMA is too rough for small children. Start them out with Karate/Wrestling/Boxing/Jiu Jitsu, let them learn some fundamentals. Then, if they wish to continue their training, so be it. But I also think Krazy J up there at the top was on to something. If people are going to allow small children to compete, there should be a somewhat modified set of rules. I noticed the kids in that video werent wearing any padding on there feet? I'm not by any means taking Dr. Douchebags side, but it's important to remember a child is a very fragile thing, and if you throw them into the mix too early, or put too much pressure on them, it can really mess them up in the long run. So to summarize, yes i think kids should be allowed to compete, but there should be strict rules when it comes to striking especially. Just like T-Ball, fast pitch etc., let them work up to the big stuff.
