That was Fedor’s first and only loss in Sambo….SAMBO. sAmbo
And his only “loss” in MMA is due to a dr. stoppage, and he revenged that loss.

bob73 did you actually see that sambo match that he lost? Blagoi Ivanov scored a lot of points in the beginning with pressing action and a takedown but then Fedor started dominating him until he simply ran out of time. Had that match lasted just 2 minutes longer, Fedor would have won.

I remember watching this fight and Frank just laying their trying for a non-existent Kimora while Pe de Pano hit him in the face. At the time I honestly thought that Frank was gonna get dropped as a fighter and either become a commentator or we’d never see him again. Big props to Frank for working through his issues and making the big comeback.

fedor is great. but he is not unbeatable. in my opinion, he lost to Ricardo Arona back then. but he find ways to win, i give him that. very smart and durable. best heavyweight right now no doubt. but i want to see more contenders. my favourite fighters arent one that rarely loses. but those who put on a good show, like clay guida, gsp, rashad evans, etc.

New breed of HW’s are on the horizon. Brock is the first, hes 30 yrs old and will improve alot very soon, if he wants to keep fighting. If Brock gets BJJ training he will be unstoppable.
Fedor is a great fighter, but the competition is getting better every day. His reign wont last a lot longer unless he stays away from the top fighters in the world. Tim Silvia is far from the best HW.
The pride stars keep falling lately, Wanderlei is getting used to being knockout out, Shogun got hammered, Rodrigo Noguera had never been finished EVER before that fight with Frank Mir, not even Fedor could finish Mir.
And Brock is champ for the moment.

Fedor has fought many good fighters…..Mark Hunt K1 Champ,Sylvia…UFC Champ…Crocop,Babalu,Randleman NCAA Champ,Coleman…Twice,Lindland Olympic silver medalist in wrestling,Fujita,Nogeita in his prime 3 TIMES!,Schlilt who is great,Arona the list goes on. TO ASK WHO HAS HE FOUGHT IS JUST PLAIN IDIOTIC!

not looking to argue with anyone but i can not back fedor 100% like alot of the folks i see who think he is a god. his time is running out and it seems that his management protects him from the best compition out there. (forgive me for not being the lhw champ at spelling ) he has always looked impressive but beating tim silvia earns him nothing, when he desides to end all of the wondering if he is really the best and take the fight that will prove it, whom ever it may be,then i will give him his credit.he has been impressive but alot of guys in pride were and they all have failed after that and alot to the guys who were stars in the ufc at the same time they ruled in pride.

First of all. Mir always had talent, he just never trained seriously. Plus I think he didn’t get in enough fights early in his career like a lot of top level fighters do. Then he had the accident. Mir is a big man much bigger than Fedor. Mir’s striking has improved and I think that Mir would have the advantage on the ground (Slight Advantage) I would love to see Mir vs. Fedor. Hell Mir has already beat Lesnar.

In my opinion Fedor gave up the claim to the Number One spot when He and Dana couldn’t get a deal done. Dana has shown that they don’t need Fedor in the UFC. He has developed other stars. With Culture, Nog getting beat, Lesnar is NOW the Undesputed Champ until Mir beats his ass again. Fedor is on the outside looking in. I feel sorry for Fedor. What does it mean to be the best if you don’t get to fight the best competition?

what can i say if the rankings on sherdog say it it must be true. most of you are fedor loving douche bags. get off his nuts until he proves his self and every ufc champ he beat had already been beaten out of the ufc by the next top dog that fedor will never fight until they are over the hill like the others he beat. all he has to do is fight one or two of the current top guys which are probably going to be in the ufc who ever it may be and then i will call him the best. but beating tim silvia and hong man choi dont cut it. sigh a three fight de3al with dana and run the table and no one can question him again.
