USA TODAY Sports got the news from UFC and Strikeforce officials that Mir has agreed to take on Strikeforce grand prix winner and former two-time Olympic wrestler Daniel Cormier (10-0 MMA, 7-0 SF) in the co-main event of an upcoming Strikeforce card, expected sometime in October or November of 2012, and airs on Showtime.

Standing Cormier has the boxing skills and power to ko Mir.If Cormier decides he wants to go to the groud all he has to do is stay chest to chest with Mir and destroy him like Brock did. Thank the heavens they let Mir go to Strikeforce for one fight so that Cormier has some competition.(no thanks to greedy ass Scott “C*ck” Coker) And Cormier has a speed advantage yes, but in wrestling both parties engage in wrestling, not MMA. So saying that Mir has no grappling chance is ludicrous, I’d say he has the advantage.

Mir is one of my favourite fighters of all time for him as a person his length in the UFC the fact he came back after a crash, breaking peoples bones..

Frank is a top 10 fighter and a good test for Cormier. Everyone looking down or thinking frank is done because of a bad fight agaisnt JDS give me a break. Cormier does not have hand speed or striking of JDS or Overeem. So what he is a wrestler Frank Mir on the ground is a Monster lets not forget that In Cormiers last fight he almost got put in a knee bar then a anckle lock by Josh Barnett let Frank Mir grab ahold of his leg and it will be broken.

Mir’s only chance is to pull off a slick submission after Cormier inevitably takes him down at will. Mir might as well not resist the takedown and waste energy, better to practice his submissions from his back.
Mir has a slim chance and will not be able to put cormier on his back his only chance and is almost always his only chance is a sub while he’s dazed and getting pummeled. And I’m not judging him by his last fight mir has always been mediocre at best.
