I think they both rely on looping punches, but I think Fedor will be able to take advantage of that better than Rogers and find his openings because of his speed and experience and the fact that Rogers tends to leave his chin out there. Everyone talks about Rogers KO power and this and that, but Fedor throws some bombs himself and no HW can just walk through those.

Rogers is gonna come in over confident and over aggressive, leave himself open with his wild punches, catch a right hand similiar to the one AA caught, and get finished on the ground with punches. Just my guess.
If Fedor wins by tko it will be due to straight counter punches

fedor said he saw a weakness in rogers stance

Rogers was dumb in leaving his hands real low

I think Rogers was over thinking that fight. He should have done like he said after the fight, which was to let his hands go. That was the only chance he had. But I have to hand it to Rogers, he bounced Fedor's head off the mat a few times. That was pretty awesome. I don't think there needs to be a rematch, though. I think Fedor needs to fight the Champ, beat him and then if Rogers works his way up (which shouldn't be all that hard with the talent pool they have) he can get his rematch.

I was wondering how fedor was going to handle the cage, but he did pretty good. He only got held up on it once, and then he wrestled off of it. But man, I would HATE to get hit by Fedor. He brings those punches from the floor. The one he knocked Rogers down with, he threw his whole body into. After he hit him, his feet came off the floor and he almost fell down, then he jumped on Rogers and did a little pounding.

I DO think the fight could have went on for at least 5 more seconds though. Rogers wasn't quite KO'd enough for him to accept that he lost. But, still, good stoppage. Rogers was not going to recover from that. He was out of it and was covering up with only 1 hand. I wish he would have shown a little respect to Fedor and been a little bit humble from the beating he just took. Oh well.

5 more seconds would have been VERY unnecessary punishment. Rogers was curling up, prompting Big John to stop it.

As for the fight itself, I thought that Fedor looked great against a tough opponent, who proved himself more then ever before by taking it to The Russian Experiment the way he did. I was never in fear for Fedor this fight like I was during a few seconds of the Arlovski fight here and there, but those shots on the ground must have hurt like HELL!

Oh, yeah...

see my sig... still

whooo!! that fight was the shit! i just got back from seeing it live. the energy in that building was awsome, that place exploded when Fedor landed that punch, real good feeling to see The Last Emperor fight live, good experience, it was worth it to, we stuck around and took pics with Hendo and he gave us a couple of Autographs. Did get a little worried there when Fedor was on his back and Rogers was raining those big punches down on him, but man Fedor has a chin, he took them like a champ and Knocked Rogers out, great fight.

first off, i can honestly say i didnt expect that at all.

i expected fedor to win, but for him to just easily take him down and work a kimura or armbar. when fedor got caught r1 i wasn't worried at all but i was worried that he wasn't controlling him very well. r2 starts and i remember saying to my friend, "rogers is looking very open to a counter" and BAM. I don't think i've ever yelled "OH" so loud. That punch was so loud it sounded like someone a foot away from me got hit with a brick.

Honestly the BEST free card i've ever seen. I've been saying it for a while, but if SF keeps bringing in fighters from dream and m1 and picking up good free agents they are going to be right in there with the ufc.

but none the less amazing fight, i really thought it was going to come down to a rear naked choke, but im glad fedor knockd him out.

his rants about him losing were rediculous
bret needs to work on his mouth more than anything fedor totally pwned him
