Why is the UFC a joke now? It's been proven time and time again that 42 isn't too old to be a decent pro athlete, especially a fighter.

Actually, whats proven more is that not everyone is like Randy.

There have been many many athletes to compete and win over forty. Randy is the living legend, at 46, he is still at the top of the sport. I'm not saying Renzo is able to compete at that level, but I am saying that he can compete with some UFC fighters. Boxers take more damage than maybe any other athletes, many of them win or retain titles well after their 40th B-day. Steve Nash seems to be getting better, Brett Farve is playing great. Jordan had a few forty point games after turning forty. A pitcher last year almost made it back to the majors at 50 after nearly 20 years on the shelf. Age is a factor for many guys, but it has more to do with what happened in the those years and the toll it took on them. Hendo will be 40 next year. He hasn't showed any signs of slowing down. Wrestlers and grapplers have strong bones from all the stress rolling and training puts on them. Those old guys are hard to break. I never thought Mark Coleman was special, but the fact is, he can still compete.

Are you saying the single largest MMA organization in the world is a joke simply for signing a 42 year old fighter with world class skills? Where would that put Strikeforce with their signing of Herschel Walker?
