gotta love the sugar, he has been whoopin ass lately. and forrest is nice guy but i dont believe he beat jackson so i’m glad it end with out question( all title fights should go to the champ if its close, you gotta beat the champ to be the champ) congrats rashad take it easy for a day and then you better work on your jitsu because everyone wants you now.

Looked like switched worlds, Forrest dictated the stand-up and Rashad destroyed him on the ground…I cannot hide that I’m a little dissapointed by Forrest loosing on the ground..

Evans keeps getting better and better. The first 2 rounds he had trouble finding his range. I thought Griffin might catch him with a triangle or armbar tho when it went to the ground.

I think Rashad will hold the title for a longgggg time. He’s got GSP-like athleticism

Great fight! Evans is a monster! It’s difficult to beat a guy who can throw back everything you throw at him with three times the power. Forrest was doing well. Very technical, very smart. But Rashad needs only one hit to destroy anyone. Naturally superstrong AND with a good technique!
You need a superstrong GSP to beat this guy…

I dislike Rashad alot, hes is cocky and shows no respect for his fellow fighters. He pulls that BS dance crap and just show no respect for the sport, himself, or other fighters. It was a nice clean win, but I still have no respect for Rashad. He is a luck fighter, he gets lucky with a quick shot to the jaw every time. He has no real skill outside those lucky hands he has.

Kappi, that’s a good point with the machida match-up. But their styles are simular in the fact they both like to be on the outside and counter.I think their talents will offset one anothers and it might end up looking like a 25 minute square dance.

This is the only fight I got right last night. I feel Evans is a good enough fighter to be a champion, while as much as I like Forrest he’s not championship material.

I still think Forrest was given a gift decision over Rampage, but nevertheless fought well last night. Forrest has the heart of a champion, and has a great sense of humor that makes people love him, but his skills are just one notch below that elite level in my opinion.

Too much was made from his win over Shogun Rua who came into the cage on one knee. If Rua was healthy Forrest would have never been given that title shot.

Either way Evans will have a hard time holding onto that title, but I think it’s safe to say anyone holding the LHW title right now is going to have a hard time hanging onto it. I don’t believe there’s one guy in that division that can make a long run of title defences, there’s simply too many good 205 lb fighters out there.

Rashad has the better ground game but that’s about it and it’s not like Rampage hasn’t beaten better wrestlers than Evans. Dan Henderson is a world class wrestler and it wasn’t much of an advantage … Rampage is gonna steamroll Evans. The only way Rashad defends his belt is if he fights the Machida/Silva winner and I hope to god its not Machida cuz thats going to be the most boring fight ever.

I just don’t like Rashad’s style more so in his last fights than this one. He’s obviously quick but I don’t know I just don’t see greatness from him. He’s found a way to stay undefeated and his last 2 fights were finished but now that he has the title I wouldn’t be surprised to see him lay and pray on his next challenger.

Everybody is saying how rashard was showboating, I hope they noticed that when he actually worn, he didn’t jump all around the cage or try to show up forrest. The show boating is during the fight, and that is only for the judges to know that he’s not hurt, its old boxing tactics. I thought Rashad looked scared the entire fight. There is no doubt that Forest was controlling this fight. You can tell by Rashad’s reaction after the fight that he knew he was loosing badly before he KO’d Forest. Liddell and Rampage could take either of these guys. Liddell vs. Rampage would currently be the best matchup for deciding the true champion.

I remeber liking Rashad quite a bit on TUF. When Melvin was running his mouth about all his KO’s Rashad stayed calm and humble. His response was “He reminds me of me when i was younger.” Considering he came across as a decent guy i figured he would get chewed up and spit out in the UFC. But look at how things turned out, he’s got the belt and Melvin has lost most of his fights and turned out to be a real turd. As for his showboating in the ring, it pisses some ppl off but personally i think the mental warfare is just another facet of the ever evolving game. There was a great champ who was known for being a smart ass showboat…Ali. Rashad has earned it, I don’t think too many ppl didn’t see it comin. He’s gonna have a hell of test on his hands soon. The biggest test of his career to be exact.
