I don’t know how these people still bring up the “oh well he was agood wrestler in college”. He’s in a different world. GSP has faced plenty of GREAT college wrestlers, but things change when striking is thrown in, and that’s where GSPs timing comes into play.

I agree with that mmafan. Matt Hughes, John Fitch, and Josh Koscheck are all phenomenal wrestlers that GSP has faced and handled very well. Like Cain said in that video it’s GSP’s striking with his wrestling that sets him apart. Not to mention master game planning and insane conditioning.

@ both commentators above

Johny is on another level than those listed. Kos coming in at a not too close second.

Jon Fitch – attended Purdue – no placings (45-51 record overall for his collegiate wrestling career).
Matt Hughes – attended Eastern Illinois University – two-time NCAA Division I All-American placing eighth and fifth at 158 lbs.
Josh Koshcheck – attended Edinboro University – four-time NCAA Division I All-American one-time champion at 174 lbs.
Johny Hendricks – attended Oklahoma State University – four-time NCAA Division I All-American, three-time champion, two-time Big 12 Conference Champion at 165 lbs.

I made a mistake.

Johny has two national championships and three Big 12 Conference Championships.
