Bad idea of the day. Current Bellator bantamweight champ Eduardo Dantas (14-3) fought Tyson Nam (12-4) in Shooto Brazil 33 do to a long layoff between next Bellator fight. The bout took place on Aug 25, 2012 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Geno, what are the chances of you posting the fight factory series on here? Thanks!
Daaaaaamn! Bellator makes some god awful decisions. They are going to hang on to that tourney format until they have not one marketable fighter. This guy Nam could pretty much claim that title now. heh.
Nice punch.I guess Bellator will start to do like the UFC and only allow fighters to fight in their organization.
Technique over power every time. Great defense and counter! Beautiful!
Damn that was sick as hell. Not the first time it has happened to Bellator with Wiuff whooping Mpumbu also. I agree with Beast the tournament format is a bit played out.
this fight is irrelevant. pro fighters should fight. where is the bad idea? this wil have little impact on dantas career and is good for nam. Bellator doesn’t care.
Dantas was nervous and over agressive, in that flurry of knees and punches Nam threw just one punch.
Nicety.
heard a rumor UFC is picking up Tyson Nam now
Dantas got a little greedy with the knees, no big deal, Dantas would beat this guy 9 times out of 10…
@casyboy, I agree. Hopefully all this does is improve Duntas’s betting line against Galvao so i can make some money!
the tourney format is great, but it does offer random bad side effects such as the title holder sits on the title and waits, which makes him want to fight elsewhere to continue the cashflow. But anyhow its not the “tourney” format but rather the specific bellator style that does this. If it was the ol school pride style tourneys where you fight them in one night that would def create stars, a la shogun, wandy and etc…. much more when you have to beat more than 1 guy in the same night. Credit when its due.
I wonder if more fighters are going to be looking for these kinds of openings in the Thai Clinch like this. That was sweet timing
@gphilos
The problem is nowhere in USA they would allow figthers to fight like Pride or K-1 tournaments.
