Fedor Fights New Years Eve At Yarennoka! – First M-1 Global Event Press Conference

Today’s press conference had all of the Pride FC regulars there. It was like a Pride reunion.
The press conference for today’s announcement of M-1 Global’s first event had all the show and glitter of the grand ol’ Pride FC days. Many major players from Pride are now associated with this organization all the way down to the over the top announcer and her rolling Rs.

The fight card already has 11 combatants but NO sign of Hong-Man Choi, who was expected to be Fedor’s fight partner on the night. The match-ups have not been anounced yet so they will keep us guessing for a while.

They talked about the closing of the Pride offices and how upset everyone was at the suddenness of it all. They were more than happy to start it all up again under new management.

I will bring you more new soon so check back. Here is the current fight card.

I am over the moon right now!!!!! god bless M-1 Global they are for sure gonna keep the spirit of PRIDE alive!!!!! The UFC tried to destroy PRIDE and tried to break the fans spirits especially the loyal Japanese fans but thanks to M-1 Global they wont succeed. Only problem i have is Fedor’s opponent, that is kind of a joke, they should have made arrangements for a top ten heavyweight, but its ok cause its a last moment event, but hope that more top heavyweights will sign up with M-1 in the future especially josh Barnett, Randy Couture just to prove the fact that Fedor is the best to the AMERICANS and UFC fans who have begun to talk crap about him and doubting his legitimate claim as the worlds greatest fighter. Lets wait and see!!!!!!!!

Are you kidding me? Really? A defunct PRIDE organization to be revived? Perceptions emotions does not equal reality. Too much emphasis on the good ol’ days of Pride – there is a reason why it no longer exists.

Once M-1 loses money on a few last minute “Big” events, it will be interesting to see how great this organization will be. Fedor will get his pay and move on. IS ANYONE REALLY WANTING TO SEE THE SO CALLED #1 HW of the World fight a nobody? They would be better off throwing a professional wrestler in there to make it entertaining.

Have you forgotten that Fedor fought a non-hw that is ranked in the world and only 13,000 people cared (PPV # that actually bought the fight). How many of those events can you pay out top dollar to a one fighter organization and lose money? M-1 Needs to move fast and put out a decent card. Fedor is the true winner. He gets paid a crapload of money to fight nobody. What a deal for him. Do you really think this is great for M-1 or MMA fans in general. If this is PPV, they will be lucky to sell 10,000.

I wouldn’t get your hopes up to much. That’s great that you think Pride was the best format. It looks like they didn’t have the winning formula nor were all their fighters “THE BEST IN THE WORLD”. As a fan, I want to see the best fighters fight each other and get paid well. Move on and call out M-1 – they built their hopes on one Top Fighter. What do they give the fans? Nothing!
