Fedor Emelianenko’s only loss came back in December of 2000 at Rings - King of Kings 2000 Block B against Tsuyoshi Kohsaka.

Technically Tsuyoshi Kohsaka is the only man to have ever beaten Fedor Emelianenko. However the cut by which the fight was ended, was made due to an elbow, which was illegal in the competition.

Kohsaka landed an accidental elbow from a missed punch to the forehead of Emelianenko, opening a cut that prevented Emelianenko from continuing. Due to the tournament structure, a winner had to be chosen to advance so Kohsaka was declared the victor. Emelianenko avenged the loss at PRIDE Bushido 6, defeating Kohsaka via TKO.

That was a pretty bad cut but the cut that marvin eastmen got from vitor belfort was huge.

cant wait for his fight with couture i love how when couture beat two fighters who were hardly champion material (silvia and gonzaga) people think that for some reason the man is unstoppable cant wait for them to get a reality check

nobody thinks couture is unstoppable. i’m a huge couture fan, but i don’t think he’s unstoppable. that’s evident in the liddell fights. he is, however, a master strategizer(is that a word?). he comes in knowing how to beat another opponent, plans it out, and executes it very well. it just so happens that fedor really doesn’t have a major weakness that couture can expose very well. his most noteable is his inability to keep his hands up. however nobody can knock him out, he’s got an amazing chin. i think fedor will wax him easily. fedor is the #1 heavyweight in the world hands down. he will be #1 for a while. arlovski, which i’m also a huge fan of, may be able to do something, but arlovski can’t take a punch. which we all know is what fedor is dangerous at doing. barnett i think could do well also, but nobody is even on the same level as fedor.

fedor’s weakness is his takedown defense. Randy may be able to get him on the ground, and just maybe, he could get a stopage with a flurry of punches. That is if he can pass fedor’s guard.

Yes fedor is the best heavyweight. But that is bullshit to say arvloski or barnett have the best shot to beat fedor. Only randy has a change with his takedowns

I totally dislike this ruling when the governing body has to pick a winner regardless of circumstance, I’ve seen it implemented so many times and it really is unfair!

How could you possible consider yourself being the victor from a stoppage like this?

Don’t get me wrong I know accidents can happen, but PLEASE at least give a win such as this one some kind of title i.e. — Accidental Loss/Win.

oh and for the people who are saying it should have its own category like accidental loss and they should have ruled it a no contest i mean common kohsaka hit him and cut him the cut was too bad to continue with the match so kohsaka wins, it doesnt mean he is a better fighter than fedor,look at the rematch lol but fedor got caught just like when a match starts and then ends in the first minute by ko or like a quick guillotine choke. but the way sherdog has it is fine TKO(cut)

This should have gone down as a loss, because elbows were illegal in the tournament. If it was modern day MMA (UFC,PRIDE) I would agree with the L. However, this should have been a No Contest

Couture couldnt fight Pedro Rizzo on the stand up fight a few yeras ago on the UFC, fedor is way more aggressive than pedro. I also read somenone saying “fedor has a poor take down defense” ROFL.

Im not a major fedor fan but he is well rounded on the stand up and on the ground game, tough job for ol couture. Maybe fedor will be in a good mood and aplly an ankle lock just to dont mess couture face really bad.

Fedor has poor takedown defense? He’s competed at the national level in Judo. That’s nothing BUT takedown defense. Yeah, and BJ Penn’s submission defense is questionable and Big Nog has a glass jaw.
