Tim Sylvia actually laid up when he fought Randy. He never had a chance against Fedor, nor does Randy or anyone else. Fedor is that good and I am glad people are realizing it now. I have always said Fedor was the best HW in the World. His only loss was due to a cut early in his career. Ok, back to the fixed Randy/Tim fight, remember, Randy was retired with back to back losses from Liddell. The UFC HW division was tired of Tim with his boring and awkward style. So Dana gives Randy a HW title shot right out of retirement. Nobody gets that treatment but the beloved Randy Couture. Everyone else would have had to have a few prelims. Not Randy, that fight was decided by Dana before it ever started. Dana wanted a new champion that everyone loved as they were all tired of boring Tim including myself. Dana has been pulling strings one too many times now. The puppet master needs to preserve what MMA stands for, but as of late, he has turned it into the WWE. If you watch fighters and get to know their style, you know when they are holding back. Rampage was holding back against Griffin, he fought half speed and still hurt Griffin, once down, he never advanced his position. The post interview was actually comical when Rampage announced he could never put on an act and that he just plain got his ass whipped. Please, Griffin doesn’t even belong in the same ring. Dana rigged that one too. He also rigged Wanderliegh vs Liddel. Wanderleigh laid up in that fight. Here is a guy who throws nothing but vicious knees in his stand up, but not one was thrown against Chuck. It is his trademark, he destroyed Rampage with knees twice, but not one against Chuck, and when he knocked Chuck to the ground he doesn’t jump on him but lets him get up. Coincidence, I don’t think so. Liddell would have suffered the same demise Jardine did should Wanderleigh have given it 100%. It looks like Dana is now setting up a Liddell/ Griffin fight so that Liddell his close buddy can retire with the belt. How about Heath Herring and Noguiera? In a match with rules, aside from skill level, weight and size play a major if not the paramount factor and neither man would negate their quickness and agility vs. the other’s size and strength advantage by dropping or gaining weight.

I don’t think so, however, Randy C. is one of the only other heavyweight champions that did not hav his belt taken from him so that would be a huge fight..although I think Fedor would win. Also, if Fank Mir did not lose his belt. If Mir TRULY is back to his old self, the way he was before his motorcycle accident, he might put up a decent fight. Mir was unbeatable back then. Anyone else would only be getting in the ring for the money because they definitely would not win…unless maybe they pulled one of those finger-in-the-eye moves for the win like Kevin Burns did in the UFC event Saturday night. It seems that UFC events are known for controversy, however, I am glad that they are not a complete joke like Elite XC. Randy’s strength is in the amount of time he has been fighting, and the way he fights people. He fights smart and studies. The same way he was able to beat Chuck,Tim, Etc.

Randy will translate into much more of a test with Fedor, Wrestlers seem to do a “little” better with him, and Randy Greco translate well into MMA.

Randy vs Fedor fight of the century? Randy wouldn’t get past Nogueira imho. As far as I’m concerned Randy gave the belt up when he decided to stop fighting in the UFC and wants no part of Nogueira. Until he steps back into the cage you can’t really disprove this either. Beat Nog first, then I’ll give him a chance against Fedor.

Silva can not beat Fedor, at any weight. Dont get me wrong, I’d rather watch Anderson fight than most of fighters, but do you think that Travis Lutter could have even get close to Fedor the way he did to Silva. A Catch Weight at 205 would simply be another demo of Fedors supremecy. He is just as accurate and hits harder. He just whipped 2 guys that outweigh Silva by 90 lbs and 160 lbs.

Fedor is the best heavyweight in MMA. I have no idea what people are talking about when they say he has no fought anyone. Barnet? Nogeira? Crocop? Coleman? Randleman? Lindland?
Hearing? Hunt?

At least a couple of former or current UFC title holders in that group, yes? Furthermore, of thise above, they are all BAD ASSES. And he had problems with a few of them as well. Yet he remains unbeaten. Of the heavyweights Nogeira is still his toughest fight. Coture just does not have enough for him. He will not be able to stand with him and withouht being ko’s and he will not be able to be on the top or botom of Fedor without getting submitted.

As fas as the P4P argument, Sylva is a respectable challanger to the title. He has the same skill sets as Fedor standing and ground and has that uncanny ability to relax in the ring.

How old are you? Do you realize that both Fedor and Sylvia are born in 1976, that means they are 32 years old. If that’s old I’d guess you must be in grade 10.

Both of these guys are in their prime and as for your stellar fight analysis that Tim looked tired, what after 36 seconds? He got his ass handed to him by a monster, of course he looked tired, he nearly was killed in under one minute.

I know none of these guys are any good, God only knows why I waste my time trying to reason with stupidity. These guys are all top notch professional fighters, Noguiera is a serious BJJ Black Belt and a formidable fighter. No one gets there by lacking courage, talent and toughness. So when you see an artist at work pay him his dues.

As for Randy Couture, I think he is a legend and a great ambassador for the sport, but I can’t see how he can even stand a chance against this guy. Fedor submits a 7′4″, 360 lb monster back on New Years eve and everyone says who cares. Go to the woods find the biggest bear you can and submit it, if you can then you should be in there with this guy.

It doesn’t matter who you put in front of him he just blasts through them, and if he feels it’s someone that he needs to actually show up for, well you get a result like the other night.

what sets a.silva and f.emelianenko above the recent competition they have faced imho is the speed and accuracy of their striking.

adding to this the superb ground skills that both fighters have, a matchup between these 2 fighters would seem to me the one needed to determine who is the best.

It looks like Fedor pulls down Tim’s left arm then throws an overhand left and steps in past Tim’s left arm with a head butt to Tim’s face. You can see Tim’s face vibrate from the butt. Then Fedor finishes him off with an uppercut and a few more fast punches to the face.

You can’t see it in this video at all. It is too fast and at the wrong angle.

Well, Randy has reached a point in his career that the only fight out there left for him is Fedor. It’s either Fedor or retirement… If that fight happens, I think Randy will hold is own, but Fedor is on another level… Randy’s only chance is to try to get the fight past the 1st and maybe 2nd round because I believe Fedor’s cardio is not as good as Couture’s

Though, i never doubted Fedors skill, I have been guilty of questioning his competition. Not that Nog or Mark Hunt are anything to sneeze at but I always thought Fedor should come fight in the states. It’s now a must…Fedor vs Cotoure! I’ve been pushing for this fight for over a year. I was just rooting through the net and found a site that talked about Fedor’s earnings in the last fight.

Sorry I can’t remember who first mentioned it but Fedor did earn $300,000 while Tim earned $800,000 dollars for that fight. What we didn’t see initially was that Fedor agreed to that purse with a conditional $1.3 million dollar bonus if he won.

Ask yourself this, how confident is this guy? He obviously didn’t give a shit about his guaranteed purse because he knows he’s going to win.

Also Affliction announced that Fedor will fight Andrei Arlovski in October, there’s another big fight on the horizon.
