Fedor Emelianenko Vs. Shinya Aoki Fight Video Exhibition Bout

The Fedor vs. Aoki exhibition was part of Wednesday’s Deep/M-1 Challenge event at the Differ Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.

Emelianenko easily overpowered his opponent and suplexed him to the mat to start the friendly match. Emelianenko seemed in control throughout but would give up a submission attempt to try another and even allowed Aoki to place a hold so he could power his way out. Aoki eventually tapped out from an Achilles lock three minutes into the scheduled five-minute fight.

Fedor was smiling. Meaning, I can kill with my mind. But, I must say it was pretty entertaining. It is amazing how well he can move for a HW.

Nice to see what its really like when you mix weight classes.
Especailly a 155 with a 230 an up-er.

Fedor show’d good takedowns, an some very slick style in those throws an hip tosses.

Aoki with the flying armbar was juicy.

When I first heard of this exhibition I thought what was Fedor thinking? After watching it I think I know. Fedor loves MMA period and loves to fight anyone, he and Ayoki looked like they were really enjoying themselves so good for him.

Everyone knows Fedor’s the best fighter on earth so why not have a little fun while you’re at it.

Black Gerbil I also wish Brock would fight Fedor, so Brock can get the brain damage coming his way if he stepped into the ring with this beast. Guys who think Brock can beat Fedor see nothing but a muscle bound guy, and so think he should win. Sorry Brock’s athletic but he is too old to learn what Fedor knows, and I bet you Fedor’s stronger than Brock. This isn’t body building it’s MMA.

great exhibition fight, both had great class, they were smiling, this wasnt about winning, it was about showing respect and skill, both are very skilled, fedor is a big man and aoki was still able to throw him down, props to both fighters

L-E-S I agree with you completely. It’s interesting though cuz all the smack talk in the UFC used to hype fights is more pro-wrestling. The Japanese fighting leagues do little to none of that, yet some of the fighters use very elaborate, wrestling style walk outs.

That’s why PRIDE was the best. UFC still hasn’t gotten there, but then again the NA and European markets are very different than Japan.

I think this is what’s missing from MMA in the US: a light-hearted appreciation for the fighters skills. It’s not all about KOs and blood.

They have lots of exibitions like this in other sports. Its more to promote the sport and its fun. I mean seriously guys you don’t want to see Aoki in a fight with Fedor, and I don’t think Aoki want’s that either.

That was great fun to watch, made me like both fighters that much more.

One question, what was up with the kicks? Aoki was doing some push kicks to the body, and thats all fine and dandy, but Fedor threw one crazy roundhouse that would have parazyle Aoki had it somehow landed. I’m sure he didn’t mean to land it, but what if Aoki shot for a takedown right then and Fedor put him out. That would have been sad, but funny too. Fedor would have felt awful I bet.

This is why PRIDE was the greatest organization…because in the Japanese market they respected the fighters for the talent and dedication to the craft…You see a little clinch or grappling on the ground and the audience boo(notice how i refrained from calling them “fans”) and the ref will stop the exchange in order to try and make the fight more exciting by standing them up…in Japan they appreciated every single aspect of the sport and applauded and respected both of the competitors for their efforts…*sighs* as I reminisce the good ol’ Pride Days…
