That was a sad display and a clearly questionable ending. I guess when the Russian maffia owns your contract then sometimes your opponent just falls over. And I actually really like Fedor but this fight reeks. Log in to Reply YodaSangklai December 31, 2011 Looks like the emperor still have his touch. He is still the legend, the former best pound for pound fighter but just like past champion I have to accept that is not the best anymore. Now is Junior Dos Santos and Overeem era in heavyweight division. Log in to Reply YodaSangklai December 31, 2011 Looks like the emperor still have his touch. Fedor has an easy 25 pounds of advantage and the experience of an old lion. Even looks like a fixed fight. Come on Fedor, don´t end your career out of fighting cans! Log in to Reply T December 31, 2011 he i snot back..because he was never here, he was a bubble full of air , never fought some1 relevant , in the past years he never fought a true heavy weight champ. the true competition he had, he never took it, his management didnt want to risk a public humiliation. Log in to Reply mmaok December 31, 2011 A can crushing cans! Fadeor, a neverwas. Bring him to the UFC so he can get beat by some more middleweight fighters. Retire already. Log in to Reply jasonfn22 December 31, 2011 I hate that announcer guts especially after he asked Alister Overeem to take his shirt off and show his muscles to a group of 12 year old kids they were speaking to at a school for god’s sake and Alister did it lol WTF.Fedor is a star where the promotion makes him a star by being choosey on who he faces to keep ticket sales up but in America he don’t have that safety net and everybody just whoops his ass.I like the guy I think but his back ground is mysterious with his brother possibly being linked to the KGB which is no good but Fedor regardless of his actual skills seems to be a good person who lets people control his likfe and moves like M1-Global and I bet if he came to America and found a high level gym to call his home he probably could live up to his hype but he trains like a god damn cave man and that shit won’t get it done against these machines coming out of Canada,USA,and Brazil. Log in to Reply barney gumble December 31, 2011 Are you pasty white trolls sad because King Can Brock got the rest of his colon kicked out by Overeem? Got “retired” by Overeem? The fact that you all harp on saying Fedor has never beaten any true competition simply shows how ignorant and one eyed you are. Learn your history and get your information right before making yourselves look moronic posting lies and bullsh*t. Thanks Bruno! Log in to Reply walket6678 December 31, 2011 Fedor was breathing heavy through his mouth midway through the first against a subpar opponent. Not a good sign. Best to retire. Fedor will never be in the UFC, so stop even bringing it up guys. You know why and thats never going to change. Log in to Reply steamachine January 1, 2012 not good…he looked stiff, the bounce in his step wasn’t there, he took a couple shots on the chin that had they been thrown by a tougher guy would have ended his night and worst of all the finish looked fixed. I love Fedor and I hope a few wins will help him get his stride back, but his reluctance to fight top competition and train in America has always been his biggest weakness. Being afraid to lose is almost a guarantee to lose. Log in to Reply mmaboxingfan2 January 1, 2012 Fedor is meant for the ring ive always said. He cant fight agaisnt people who will hold him down in a cage and is bigger than him. If fedor would have equal stength to some of the bigger heavyweights he would be impossible to beat. He is a small heavyweight and the ring favours his size and style. You guys can say well dan handerson was the same size yes but fedor made the same mistake agaisnt dan henderson as he did agaisnt werdum. Fedor rushed in on these opponents and it cost him the fight. In the monson fight and in this fight he doesnt look as fat and he actually uses tecnique and doesnt rush in right away. Fedor can still be in the ufc just needs to climb the ladder once again. Log in to Reply crackberry January 1, 2012 Thank you for all your hard work on mmatko Bruno. Happy New Year! Bruno: Thanks. much appreciated. Log in to Reply paddedummy January 1, 2012 Wtf, come to America and fight real competition? Like who, Lesnar the fake WWE poser, roided out bodybuilder with no striking who folds like a lawn chair when he gets slapped by a little girl, never mind the Strikeforce champ who was getting his ass handed to him by everybody in a little japanese promotion called Pride that Fedor never lost a fight in? Oh but I forgot, Strikeforce was supposed to be the minor leagues and the best fighters are in the UFC right? Everybody who posted besides Barney Gumble is a f-ing brainwashed ignorant A-hole who knows nothing about this game. Fedor has gone back to his old stalking cautious style instead of standing in the pocket flailing his arms like a retard in an attempt to win over fat, drunken morons in the states and that is why he is dominating again. If he fought with the same style he did in this fight, Fedor would kill Over-reamed and JDS even if he fought them both at the same time along with any of the UFC dry hump artists the unified rules of Gay. M. A has produced in the process of taking the sport mainstream while simultaneoulsy ruining it for real old school fans. I bet all you simpletons who are stupid enough to buy Dana White’s bull$hit propaganda also buy Obama’s. Your presidential elections are fixed, not this fight. It’s obvious none of you know anything about fighting when you think size advantage and six pack abs automatically decide who wins a real mma match. Keep insulting the japanese, a real mma figter who front rolled into a leg lock and tapped out your BBC Daddy Anderson Silva is japanese but you Tap out shirt wearing f@gs who call newaza bjj wouldn’t know anything about that without googling it first. Log in to Reply smiley January 1, 2012 It looked totally fixed, like jamie varner’s last fight. Log in to Reply RonPaul>every other candidate January 1, 2012 All the Fedor hating comments here are probably from people who recently watched MMA in the last 2, 3 or 4 years, or people who got brainwashed by some “crazy American” called Dana White. Or both. If you haters thought that was a fixed fight, then Satoshi Ishii’s broken nose must have been a fixed broken nose too, and the blood coming out from it was fake, most probably some tomato can sauce going by your hating logic. (We can also spin it around saying Brock ‘fixed’ his own fight. That was easily his worst MMA fight in his entire career, he didn’t do anything significant vs Overeem.) Log in to Reply Genghis Khan January 1, 2012 Fedor the Great Russian Can Crusher is back… Log in to Reply Mao January 1, 2012 Paddedummy, hmm, what? Log in to Reply southiejimmy January 1, 2012 @ paddededummy, im not a fedor hater, but lets take a closer look at fedors supposed reign during his pride days. For the most part, during the the same time period, there was a core group of maybe 8 to 10 non asians who basically dominated pride. These included brasillians, europeans, americans, etc. Some of these are guys like cro cop, wanderlei, hendo, vitor, rampage, nog, and a few others. Of this core group, any one could basically beat any of the others on a given day. Of this core group of elite fighters, the only ones fedor beat were cro cop and nog, and even then they were decisions. The rest of the time he was busy fighting hong man choi , big daddy goodritch, and various other non competitors or freaks who honestly had no chance, and were meant to do nothing more than pad his record (imo). Were he as great as many felt he was, then he should have done as many of the other pride elite did, and come to the ufc (some of whom held belts). Sure he beat a washed up tim silvia (who was never very good anyway), and arlovsky, who until he got cocky and threw a flying knee, was beating fedor. Although fedor is a great fighter, by no means do i think he is the greatest fighter. I seriously doubt if he was even the best in pride. Fedor is not that old, there are former pride stars older than him like hendo who are still fighting top competition and winning. Fedor has chosen to ignore the fact that his legacy and greatness are in question, and instead of taking fights that will prove his superiority, fedor has chosen to fight the likes of jeff monson (monson is no slouch, but when you have world class fighters like overeem wanting to fight you, choosing monson seems like a cop-out). Also fighting relatively unknown guys whom you outwiegh by 30 pounds in the dream new years eve freak show event is no way to secure your legacy or prove your greatness. It seems just another way to add a win to your record before retiring. Log in to Reply southiejimmy January 1, 2012 One more thing,@ paddedummy.yes, the best fighters are in the ufc, just like the best basketball players are in the nba, and the best football players are in the nfl, and the best hockey players are in the nhl. If there was a better hockey league in eastern europe or scandinavia, then why do all the great hockey players from those places choose to play in the nhl? Wheather or not the ufc is the best organization is subjective, but wheather or not the best fighters are in the ufc is not. The ufc has the best fighters…period. why does it make someone a brainwashed fool if they want to watch the league with the best athletes. You call people brainwashed ufc nuthuggers if they watch the ufc, but do you say someone is an nfl nuthugger for watching nfl, or an nba nuthugger if they watch the nba. Why the double standard. Wanting to see the best doesnt mean your brainwashed or a nuthugger. Log in to Reply RiverCityLocos January 1, 2012 Im a Fedor fan but now its time to retire! Log in to Reply Phillip Bastians January 3, 2012 Satoshi Ishi is a World Judo Champion so he is no can as all the ufc fan morons put it. Besides Fedors management is trying to get a fight between Cain Velasquez and Fedor but Dana White says No cause he is SCARED Cain Velasquez might loose and then Fedor would make Dana White look bad. HAHAHA Fedor still number 1 . Fedor made mistake against Werdum and Fedor was winning that fight. Fedor V Dan Henderson – Early Stoppage. Fedor V Big Foot Silva – Fedor made mistake. Fedor can beat Henderson, Silva, and Werdum under Pride Rules. UFC Sissy Rules take away many of Fedors weapons. ufc Rules are to retricted . No Kicks to the head when you are on the ground. Fedor still Number 1. Log in to Reply southiejimmy January 3, 2012 so another words, every fight fedor loses is iether because fedor made a mistake, or because of a bad stoppage,or its someones fault other than fedor, but every fight he won is because hes the great fedor.like i stated previously..of all the greats in pride, the only ones he beat were mirko and nog..and he only won those by decision, otherwise he was fighting sub par competition, or freaks,…fedor and m1 and finklefag have been avoiding the ufc like the plague for years. like i stated previously, im not a ufc nuthugger,i love all combat sports, especially mma,..but i do admit that they have the best quality fighters and the best quality product, and if fedor and company wanted to prove fedors superiority, all they have to do is sign for 1 or 2 fights. I respectfully disagree with Fedor haters, as well as Fedor fans. there’s a huge difference between a ring and an octagon, starting by the enormous size of the octagon. We saw him and Cro-Cop try and stalk fighters in the cage, getting no result at all, simply because in the ring you have straight ropes and corners, whereas in an octagon there are no corners; yes, it has a fence, but while fighting on their feet fighters have a whole lot more space to run away, as we constantly see strikers do in their fights. Hendo adapted his game, became more mobile and thus gets a chance to get their rivals and give them some. Still, I’d like to see this “new generation of octagon fighters” perform in a ring with Fedor. Might change something. Log in to Reply Anonymous January 8, 2012 Fedor doing what he does best, crushing jobbers He should fight next Butterbean, James Toney, Bob Sapp, Ken Shamrock and then join the UFC on a 6 fight win streak after beating those guys up Log in to Reply King February 2, 2012 @Lucas it seem hader on fighter to fight in a octagon. Stand up fighters that is. In a ring they will reset you if you almost fall out the ring vs there is no escape out the octagon if you’re pressed up against it. It’s wrestlers heaven if you ask me.
