Sure this was a long time ago but, knowing how fast crocop got smashed in the ufc, and seeing him mess up fedor like that makes me think the last emperor might not rule the UFC.

crocop was sharp at that time, great ground defence against fedor, he could won that fight, he was close, closer than fedors other victims.

Crocop didn’t do so well in the UFC because of his past injuries.

And I personally don’t think he’ll ever be the same again no matter how much surgery he has.

But like every great fighter he’s still holding onto the spirit – where I think he should just let go and focus on training up and coming talent.

wow looks like every fackin kid with a computer is now a expert. True great fighters will come and go but these pride legends will always be arguably the greatest of all time for all time. this was when cro cop was in his prime. he came off 7 straight win before taking this fight.. fedor pushed this fight, he stalked cro cop most of the fight. cro cop kicks were mostly blocked and if you watch cro cop other fights no other fighters were able to take him down like fedor did.. the ref stands them up.. but in ufc the ref dont stand you up as much like back in pride.. fedor couldve kept ground and pound him.. instead fedor stood up agaisnt which at that time was the most dangerous striker in pride.. big nog was in his prime when he fought fedor those 3x.. and loss.. look at nog now and look at the nog that fought frank mir.. all the pride fighters were washed out by the time they went to the ufc.. when chuck was the man he got his ass handed to him by rampage.. when tito was in his prime he was having trouble agaisnt a young wanderlin.. fedor hasnt fought any one worth mentioning.. but he is still the best until proven wrong.. brett rogers is not going to knock fedor out.. fedor dont get ko’ed out … kevin randerman slam didnt phase him.. he took one hard ass blow from fujita and still manage to shake it off.. fedor … is fedor..

What happened to Cro Cop? Why do you guys think he faded so fast and hard. He didn’t appear to be on roids. Is it because he didn’t evolve? It seems like his big kicks were his main weapon and when he couldn’t rely on that he was at a loss. He seems to be lacking confidence these days. Ever since Gonzaga rocked him he hasn’t been the same.

Fedor said that this was one of his hardest fights. That was a trip in round one where Cro Cop had him off balance and was backing him up, and Fedor through a vicious, wild right, that had it connected would have taken C.C.’s head clean off. Scary!

Fedor’s face looked kinda of beat up too.

yeah i agree with the statements about taking away cro crops high kicks and theres not much else there…yeah he has some flashy knockouts in pride…but look when he came to the ufc…nothing. fighters have learned to circle away from it and hes nuetralized. whats to saying the same thing doesnt happen to fedor if he ever signs to the ufc…everyone knows that the ufc is where the best talent is and until fedor gets there and proves himself i dont know if you can truely call him the best p4p heavyweight of the world…

why is it that most guys think the ufc is the benchmark for MMA….pack of idiots, look at fedors record and remember that almost all of the guys that fedor has beaten were in their prime at the time he fought them and alot of them have been in the ufc at one time or another.

All top fighters who fought Fedor began loosing more frequently after their respective losses to Fedor. Check wikipedia for the stats of Crocop, Big Nog, Randleman, Silva, Arlovski, etc… Its an interesting trend… its like he took the will to fight well away from them.

If Crocop wouldn´t have missed so much punches he would have knocked Fedor out. Lucky for Fedor that Crocop does one of his worst pride-performances, and that his takedown defence was quite bad.
Good bout to be a hevyweight bout, but not that technical you would have hoped for…

Hope Fedor beats Rogers, but both are overrated
