fedor still takes the over rated cake being absolutely owned by the tank-abbot-on-good-diet fighter from the by gone days where ufc could have contenders who where one dimensional. now they just boot them down to the bootleg operations like pride is/was when this fight occurred.

Do you really think couture is the #2 HW?.. I’d give that to Big Nog. If Randy had accepted to fight Big Nog as his last fight in his UFC contract, and beaten Nogueira than I’d say he’s #2, all his wins are chump change compare to Nogueira’s wins… who has Randy defeated, OHHH Tim “the know” Sylva… When Nogueira breaks his other arm like Mir did, all of you will be left scratching your heads… second guessing yourselves if Randy really is the #2

Remember, Nogueira has way better BJJ than Mir, and better striking… over all he’s not Mir… He’s a light years beyond Mir, and yet Sylva lost to Mir…

Great fight by Fedor, but all of this “I can’t believe he came back from such a devastating slam” is a bunch of bunk. It’s called a suplay, fellas. I’ve seen 14 or 15 year old high school wrestlers come back and win matches after being suplayed. Not really a high risk of injury move, either, if you know how to take a bump. The only risk of breaking your neck when you are thrown like this is if you look up to see where you are going. That’s a no-no. Tuck your chin and keep your arms in (like Fedor does) and you’ll be fine. Quite frankly, big double leg slams like the ones Matt Hughes pulls off are significantly more bone jarring.

Fedor is pure gold in my eyes. No fighter comes close in terms of power, versatility and record (one loss early in his career and by decision!). This mofo has never been submitted or knocked out and just keeps getting better and better.
Although I love Randy, the only Heavyweight that comes close to this guy, past or present, is Bas Rutten. Now Fedor vs Rutten would have been one hell of a fight…
