wow, fedor has fadded away, sad.
Melon-Enko is BACK !!! . . . . .apparently. Hope Monson got a nice cheque for the open workout show ! Thankfully Hendo & Shogun carry the pride torch a little better ! ![]()
i’m a fan of fedor, but… this is not the same fedor, he seems scared, a old fedor would have killed this dumbass monson… bb fedor, i will remember you like in old days
Is it just me or was this one of the best MMA weekend in a long, long time with UFC, Bellator, StrikeForce Challengers, and M1 Global?
I feel a little spoiled… How can you top Hendo, Shogun, Wanderley Silva, Cung Le, Fedor, Monson, Alvarez, Faber, Bowles, Torres, Rowdy, Budd, Kampmann, Lombard, Prangley, Bonnar, Lawlor, etc. in the same weekend?
And all here at MMATKO!!! Thanks, Bruno!
Fedor did what he had to do to win. I am not sure if this fight will get his confidence back as the Snowman is getting really slow on his feet. Five to ten years ago, this would have been an amazing fight.
What a boring fight. Monson is a muscle headed goon that the aging Fedor used as a punching bag. Obviously this fight was just to boost his image in Russia after getting his ass kicked in America.
Dam the announcer was soo badd …at least learn how to pronounce fedor’s name…
Is it just me or did Fedor look “more flabby” than usual??
The way you guys are talking fedor did horrible.I think fedor did really good. He didnt rush in this fight like his last 3 that he lost he changed that up and hes chaning things to his attack. This fight was basically like overeem and werdum. I think if fedor keeps this up he will do good.
fedor is a BUM
yeah yeah, but Monson didn’t exactly make it exciting… Fatdor didn’t look his best, but I think he retires if he loses, so he wasn’t taking any chances.
Maybe he needs the same hormone replacement that Hendo is on:)
Fedor was sticking to his game plan. Good for him, fighting smart.
Monson was going for the Werdum (not wanting to fight) thing aka Werdum vs Overeem. Monson should have gotten a yellow card.
Good fight for Fedor.
He’s looking bigger too.
Fedor looked great by the way. He just did not want to go to the ground with a world grappling champion.
Fighting like that, he would have won his last 3 fights as well.
Fedor looked fatter than usual, still won but Monson sucks so not really impressive.
Bum fights
obviously staged.
What weight was this at? Fedor looks fatter than ever. When you have a wife looking like that though….
so, the GREATEST fighter in the world couldnt finish an old, slow, tired, hurt, bleeding, gassed jeff monson.fedor was a good fighbter, not the greates though, imo. at this point i doubt if hes even top ten.
this is what we call a FIXED fight! M1 Global it´s a f****** mafia! and they are fighting in Russia! This is a work! Good for Fedor, I guess.
Wow, thats was crap. Melonencko laid a giant egg. And the “MMA Legend” Monson didnt do s***. He was shadow boxing, and doing shadow-takedowns.
Fedor played it safe, which is what you do when you’re on a losing streak. Hopefully after this win, he’ll get his confidence back and will back to his old self.
meh. Fedor needed a win, and took one. Don’t count him out just yet.
As a fedor fan i can say
fedor’s time is up time to retire
or stay on the lower level fighting
I have loved Fedor, but now he’s not the same, you can see it in his eyes, this was a SHOW or a fixed match. I don’t understand why he’s changed like this in 1 year and somethig.
I will remember the old Fedor, the greatest of all the time.
Who the EFF is commentating this fight? It’s sounds like Frank Shamrock but I can’t be totally sure. Either way, it’s the worst mma commentating I’ve ever heard. Absolutely horrible! Thank god for the UFC and Joe Rogan!
lol kdchris….i was thinking who is Fader Melonanko
The announcer keeps calling him Fader. Ironc that his career has been a fading one. He was the man, I hope he retires now since he cant finish guys anymore.
in fairness to Fedor, Daniel Cormier couldn’t finish Monson either. And while Monson isn’t a top fighter by any means, he is a pretty respectable opponent, especially for a guy coming off 3 straight losses.
fedor looked fine to me. just for some stupid reason wouldnt go in for the kill. as if he couldnt have destroyed him easily. just was weird to. to the contrary of what most people think i still think fedor could compete at a top level. he was in position to win every one of his losses. but he got careless and got caught. i guess thats what spooked him with monson. but seriously i thought fedor looked fine to me. made it look like a sparring match.
fedor lost last 3 matches because he rushed it. He wasnt taking any chances here. Its a class difference between these two, monson didnt land a single shot. The fight reminds of anderson silvas fights. I dont agree fedor has faded away. In fact, he is going back to his roots. Watch his early fights, he didnt rush, like he did with silva, werdum and hendo. He may not be number 1 but he is still in top 10 best heavy weights, so show some respect.
Compare that to his fight against Gary Goodrich or Tim Silvia. The Verdum fight ruined him. I don’t want to see Crocop 2.0.
OK Fedor, you are back in the W column. Now please just retire!
what a waste of my 5 minutes.
people need to stop all the Fedor bashing! you’re all probably the same individuals that would profess he was unbeatable a couple years back. You idiots are keyboard warriors & wannabee king makers! Just remember this had Fedor been been the 1 fighting in ufc against the former champ Cain Velasquez a couple of weeks ago? he’d of KO’d or TKO’d Cain as well! and guess what: he’d be ufc champ right now!
Damn …
I’m still a Fedor fan, but, just damn.
I didn’t even begin the first video and made it only half way through the second before seeing enough to stop viewing.
No disrespect to Monson, but to see a can like him not get KTFO in a quick time by Fedor … it makes me remember Fedor in his Pride days …
War Fedor …you have nothing left to prove … leave us with the good memories …
This was a mismatch….This Monson guy is in no way close to Fedor’s skills…..It was like cat and mouse game…There was no need for Fedor to click to his real fighting skills…just play with the fat toy….lol
Another USA bum is downed by Great Fedor….
hes far too manly to get TRT
very satisfied with this fight. Finally he fought a smart fight.
That was a decisive win over a well rounded and dangerous opponent. I say Junion Dos Santos just hands the belt to Fedor without a fight, Dana White apologizes and we wait until Jesus comes back and let him see if he’s got what it takes to beat the the Great Fedor the Lost Importer.
the emperor is back, thats laughable. as much as i like fedor hes done, couldn’t even finish a c fighter. a very unimpressive win…
Good to see Fedor fighting with discipline that was missing in recent fights.
“FEDOR IS BACK!” …. Loool!
I love how everyone is talking down on Fedor now. These are probably the same people that were on his nuts when he was winning. Fedor will always be one of the best of all time. Fedor and Couture are men of the same caliber and I don’t hear everyone trashing Couture. When you have fought your whole life its hard to do anything else.
lol he barely took care of a trash-can… he couldn’t even keep his job at strikeforce and people call him the GOAT? hahahahahahahahah..hahahahhahah
Why do yall say Fedor is a bum..Fedor has has some of the greatest fights ever..Fedor has only been beat by great fighter’s..Dan got lucky..Jeff is no bum eather.Fedor will be back and be a champion again.Fedor has more class than all the ufc champs put togather.
I know Monson is a bum, but he just gave himself out in this fight. Fedor looked scared and with no killer instinct. This is a work ! No way a return for Fedor. He should still be fighting genuine opposition. Wasnt him the greatest ever about a year and a half ago? Come on guys!
Roy Jones and all these other stars got a lot of give me fights in the 90′s. Nothing wrong with Fedor getting an opportunity to put some food on the table and Monson has always been a tough respected guy and a gentleman. Take it for what it is and the people definitely enjoyed the show.
Dominated. Fedor made it look more like a sparring session. Love some of the comments here. Clearly Fedor has learned from his past and he made the fight look too easy… Yeah, what a bum.
Look like the emperor learn his lesson from the three ‘L’. He is fighting wisely, more patient no more rushing when he smell blood on his opponent and really good tdd. LOL Monson tried the Werdum move so lame.
Fedor has gone to dec before enough times. its nothing new calm down. if you call him a bum, go beat him. dumb ass, lol.
Barely can beat a tomato can. Their are 10 UFC heavywieghts that could beat Fedor.
was this crap on ppv? i hope not, who would pay this fight?
Just a couple years ago Fedor was offered a ridiculous amount of money to fight in the biggest promotion (ufc) and said no. Today Fedor is fighting monson in the minor leagues in a snoozefest of a fight. You should of took Dana’s money when you had the chance!
I used to love watching fedor fight but i think the old fedor is long gone
good showing on fedors part!!!
considering Fedor didn’t get hurt AT ALL and dominated Monson this was a good performance by Fedor. looks like Fedor is changing some things this is the first time i’ve seen him use leg kicks that much and was very effective with it. his punches aren’t all looping anymore. i still want to see him fighting top guys in the UFC he still has sharp powerful punches and is very quick for a heavy weight.
and what if FE was never that good? He’s was on Japanese circuit and guys who made their careers there usually have problems in American UFC/Strikeforce/Bellator environment. There are exceptions but there are just this – exceptions.
Fedor would not have lost as many if he would have been more apprehensive as in this fight. Your fear keeps you alive and safe.
here comes the zufa zombies that once used to be on fedors coc….
Also, fight analysis was that Fedor being the smaller heavyweight would not do we in a cage because it cuts off your action. The ring allows him to move and do what a smaller faster fighter can do. It’s like when my 8 year older brother would kick my ass. In the house I was in trouble, outside, I had many more options and could run too.
Fader lol
Weak sauce, “Fader.” Just plain weak sauce.
@ericsson-a bum? really you ass? you are grade A moron!!!!!! great crowd the applauded Monson, unlike the american crowd that’s always booing the foreign fighters, learn some respect!!!!! Monson throw something next time, anything, just throw!!!!
LOL @ Powertele! that was a pretty good analogy! This was a bad fight, I’ve said this before but again, it would be in Fedor’s best interests as a mixed martial artist to work other camps, he cant keep doing the same old things and expect to immprove and be a complete fighter, he’s 35 and can still do some great things in this sport, look at Randy Couture, Dan Henderson and others, I’m not saying he has to fight into his 40′s but I would say he’s got 3 or 4 more years to fight at a high level IF he makes the necessary changes!
this is how he should of fought his last couple fights. glad to see him win
well at least we got a good 10 years out of fedor before he turned GSP
Man, F*** you guys who want to see him lose. So what? He’s past his prime. The sun sets for every athlete.
Looks like a fighter that has lost his confidence to me! He is a shadow of his former self. Hesitant, unwilling to stay in the pocket for long, not fully committing to his shots. All the hallmarks of a fighter that has lost his mojo. I am Fedor fan, but he looks very much finished now.
Its Fade-or, Fade-or. A can beating another can.
think fedor needed this win more less to rebuild his confidence as a fighter. Not sure exactly where his career will end up after this win. Monson is definitely not a legitimate threat in the HW division . I would like to see him negotiate a contract with the UFC @ 205lbs. He would be too small for HW at this point. I understand he has fought bigger guys most of his career, but i think LHW would be the best weight class for him right now.
Who is that idiot announcer?? “Gotta give him credit, Monson is following his game plan, too.” What?? Of eating the leather off of Fedor’s right glove? Ridiculous–I watched it with the sound off.
Fedor looked crisp and sharp, and Monson never touched him. Fedor stuffed Monson’s takedowns like nothing. I was worried though, when I saw Fedor’s paunch. It would be nice to see him get ripped and try a comeback.
Fatter fader. Is it over yet?
@Powertele the cage had noting to do with any of Fedor’s losses. Against Werdum he got caught after knocking him down and against Henderson he got countered while raining down blows in a position that is benefited by having a cage.
Wow Fail-ure manages to win one. Congratulations boy I knew you had it in ya!!! On a related note I don’t know why so many people were calling Fedor the greatest of all time when if you took 5 mins to look at his fight record he was fighting a bunch of UFC wash outs and Japanese no-body, never-beens. Sorta like Matt Hughe’s resume but with less quality names.
decent fight to get ‘Fader’ back on the horse. monson hasn’t been relevant in years if ever. he’s decent and can take a punch but thats it, no stand up whatsoever. ‘Fader’ needs to get ripped and tear up 205 light heavy weight and get a rematch with Werdum and maybe one with Hendo. then retire. hendo fader 2 would be good.
was that fight fixed or had Fedor the perfect fight plan for monson. Fedor fought on distance, very disciplined, took no risk. But monson didn’t or couldn’t do nothing. We schould wait for next fedor fight.
fedor was just trying to get another win and gain his confidence back.all you smack talkers don’t know what its like to be in that position and never will.
Fedor dominated this fight and did what he needed to do to get the much needed win. Most of the comments above suck! Fedor fought cautiously and needed to after coming off 3 back to back losses. Good game plan, good win!!!
Unimpressive win, but a good win nonetheless for Fedor. He got tricked by Werdum, and he was too quick to try to finish Hendo: he lost both fights. Sure, Monson was sort of a can, but Fedor stayed calm and took his shots to win the fight. Monson was playing Mongoose from the start, but Fedor didn’t fall for it. A couple of good wins and Fedor will be good as new.
HAHA so funny how everyone tlks bad about fedor now I remember just a few months ago when everyone wasriding his DICK
I feel bad for Jeremy Horn, having to dig some sense out of that terrible play-by-play.
Also, I believe at one point, the play-by-play guy had a mouth full of jawbreakers, because he actually said “Fader Mamaneko”. F***, really?
@ Rico-Thank you. I love all of the keyboard haters that most of you have never fought before. We loved Fedor when it was mainly Pride and he was throwing up prayers to get wins, now you guys just hate. Makes me wonder do you guys treat your friends that way. Fair-weather friends. Whatever, none of you guys would say that to any fighter in the gym and then do sparring session. Keep hating.
Fedor was flawless in strategy and execution. Fastest f****** heavyweight striker in the world.
For 20 mins I was pratically screaming “…its EMELIANKO!!!”
The commentator seemed to know nothing about MMA, saying something about Fedor having 10 year of supremacy in “the MMA”…
man monson looked slow.
Funny how everyone was all over Fedor a little more than a year ago and now everyone hates the guy….sad to see how many fat asses eating doritos on their keyboard simply start bashing on fighters as soon as they lose a few times…if he enjoys to fight…well then let him so regardless of whether he’s not a Cyborg as everyone thought he was.
nice to see a more dimentional fedor, really like his leg strikes. very dominant fight too a good bjj champion like moonson. adcc absolute champ i may add.
Monson just became a guy that I don’t like because of his Thales Leites-Werdum style of fighting. And great grapplers are mostly my favorite fighters.Maia is better at grappling then those 3 and he fought the best striker in MMA and he didn’t lay once on his back like a retard waiting for a guy who obviously won’t just go in the ground with you.
@theaddiuslustre, right on. all these chumps dont understand. no one has taken out fedor standing. cain woulda got ktfo…………. and let the hate rain
Fedor isn’t any less sharp….this was just an extremely fixed fight. Not in who won or lost, but that Fedor did not knock out a guy who’s been KO’d by Rizzo and Rico. Fedor could have finished this one at any time he wished.
Fedor would have kicked the sh!t out of Werdum, Big foot and Hendo if he fought them all cautiously like this. The comparison to GSP was apt, when he lossed to Matt Serra he got ktfo by a stumpy grappler who is basically the 175 pound version of Jeff Monson. Good gameplan, Fedor would have probably lossed 4 in row if he would have done his stupid impression of Wanderlai Silva again. Fighting smart like this, Fedor owns JDS
