Come on people, fedor’s fighting a fighter whose niche is kickboxing and mind not very good at that either. Man, we might as well see the Hong-Man Choi fight and say how great fedor is. However, I concur whiterat, that to get all the hype out, both fighters should meet at a catch weight of 205. That should be the greates fight ever or at least to date, but both should be compensated dearly.

Ok if Lutter can mount Silva, Fedor could easily mount Silva. Silva has a knack for getting caught in submissions which Fedor is excellent at applying. And because Fedor is so naturally big, his punching power would be a handful for Silva, but Silva’s striking IMO is better than Fedor’s. But on the ground I’m sorry but Fedor is going to expose Silva.

Anderson silva has lost four matches to no name people. Why do you think he went to UFC? He couldn’t cut it in Pride. Lets face it those japs did a number on him one too many times, rather than look bad he went to a league where he is better at. Less trained people but better for Anderson. A chance for him to win.

Silva is nothing compared to Fedor, he need’s to beat top Nogueira first, or Cro-cop. I don’t think Silva can beat neither.
Fedor has never been beaten outside of Pride, in pride he lost in a tournament fight, it was’nt even a champion belt fight. To me, and I think to alot of other’s he never even lost once.
Fedor is the last emperor.

good point BRANDON but that was one fight dude… any of these fighters we’re all talkin’ about would agree that they were only better than (certain fighters not all, say Fuijita for ex.) that he was just better than his opposition that day… its all about whos prepared, some things are out of everybody’s control.. hence the reason they fight… you cant say who would win a future fight based on past fights.. you can try but its never 100%

Fedor could get caught on the right spot and go down easily.. he has the same pressure points and “magic buttons” as everyone else.. he just knows how to avoid and inflict damage better than most.. keep in mind theres alot of top tier competition Fedor hasn’t fought.. just look at the world rankings.. there’s a reason Fedor wasn’t #1 for a while there.. ya need to fight top tier guys and win to retain that title a belt is useless if theres 3 or 4 guys in your weight class lol… great yer the champion of that shitty organaztion lol

I think Fedor who beat anderson quite convincingly. Anderson’s ground game is quite suspect and if Fedor put some serious GnP on him it would be over. Fedor’s takedowns are as good as Hendo’s from the clinch which saw Anderson on his back, but add brual GnP and things could get ugly. Anderson would have to stick and move and throw lots of leg kicks (whilst avoiding Fedors overhand counter) to have a chance. If Anderson was to win likely it would be by decision. Fedor would not be worried by Anderson’s clinch, Anderson would be taken down at will so he’d HAVE to keep his distance and set up combos. And as Mirko has found out, even the best strikers in the world have trouble counterpunching Fedor. Fedor really has no weaknesses. I’d like to see the match (at maybe ~220lbs) but I feel Fedor would handle Silva.

O.K. — Are you talking about the cut from the clash of heads with Noguiera? That wasn’t a loss. The only “loss” was from Kohsaka and it was about 20 seconds into the fight. Fluke injury that bled alittle too much and they stopped the fight, however, a few years later, Fedor got a rematch with Kohsaka and beat him to a pulp.

I refuse to make excuses for fighters, even my favorites. A loss is a loss. If the fight is stopped because you’re bleeding too bad, you lose. It was outside of Pride, it was in Rings. The fact is, he came back and destroyed Tsuyoshi, and would have done the same reguardless of blood, had they allowed the fight to continue. *Side note: The hand injuries still plaguing Fedor to this day originated in this fight. I’ve hear ppl say it was Goodridges noggin that he hurt his hand on. Myself, I think he probably hit one or both of Goodridges elbows when he had him against the ropes. The thing is, i don’t understand how they never fully healed. A good nutritionist would have had him on calcium, vitd, milk, and condroitin right after the fight, he’d be right as rain by now.
