Silva took Fedor’s best punches and paid back in kind.
Props for Pezao.
Fedor seemed like a dwarf fighting a troll, though.
At his age, Fedor just can’t keep fighting HW and I don’t think he will be losing his belly to go to 205. Maybe it’s time to hang them up.
Anyway, it’s frustrating watching so many people relishing on his defeats. As I said, before, it’s a very tough sport with many bad fans looking only for immediate compensation. Both Arlovski and Fedor deserve mad respect for all they accomplished. It’s just time for another generation to come through.

For God’s sake please let this be the end of the Fedor nut huggers. He just got absolutely destroyed by a below average fighter. Please, please don’t try to make an excuse this time. Now the Fedor has been exposed as only an average fighter, can we put this to rest? He ain’t number one. He ain’t even in the top 10. Its over guys, just let Fedor be. Now I will promise you that he will never fight in the UFC. He certainly can’t cut it there if he can’t even put up a fight against Bigfoot. This was so one sided I thought I was watching Rocky’s 1st fight with Clubber Lang. Fedor, drop to 205 or hand ‘em up buddy. You’ve been exposed. Imagine the dance Dana is gonna do now.

@ The Dragon. You are a moron. Fedor didn’t quit the ref ended, as you saw Fedor was ready to fight, why couldn’t the doctor feared for his safety, because everyone knows Fedor does not quit that fast and he would rather die in the ring then quite out of a fight.

I just wished Overeem faced Fedor but I don’t think we are ever going to see that.

Yeah, cause its either stop the fight or let Silva kill Fedor. He lost vision and was very, very clearly out classed this while fight. Fedor never stood a chance. How the hell do we still have Fedor ball lickers saying stupid stuff like “Pound for pound best fighter of MMA time.” and “He will forever be a legend, but his time is past.”? He’ll never be a legend since he has never beaten anyone. And to call him best P4P is the dumbest thing you can say. He showed absolutely NO stand up or ground game. Holding his hands low let him get tagged and he doesn’t know how to keep someone in his guard, obviously. He was mounted numerous times and completely obliterated on the ground.

Well I liked fedor and was rooting for him even though I bet on silva winning this fight. he had a lot riding on this fight. Unfortunately he will be remembered as a fraud. He only won against mid competition. He Just cant hang with the top tier. Sloppy technique just doesn’t fly any any more at a higher level. He came out on top though by getting a good rep and a lot of money by fighting a bunch of lower level fighters.

it’s a sad day… it’s time for Fedor to retire, he is still a legend of MMA, the magician of MMA, but M1 for sure are responsible of that, letting him too much time with no competition after Pride died, searching to make money on his name…it’s a shame…haters and ufc boy fans would enjoy that moment

willienugget Says, in 2-13-2011 at 01:59:56 from

Do you honestly believe Fedor would run through UFC heavies right now? I absolutely love the tourney, but that’s a stretch at best. I follow SF and have for a long time, but tonight didn’t prove squat. Still a ways to go, but all tonight showed is that Silva is a good fighter. That and we’re going to have a solid eight man tournament regarless of injury.

pwnage Says, in 2-13-2011 at 02:14:28 from

As an MMA fan in general and a big proponent of the UFC, I hope people will finally see why Fedor never signed – he dominated mediocre competition. Now folks should see why the UFC is for MMA what the NFL is for football; the best of the best. No doubt he was (and is) an extremely talented fighter, but his best is behind him, and against also-rans in competition. I think Fedor would be 3-2 against the top 5 in the UFC heavyweight division. I think Velasquez, Dos Santos, and yes, even Lesnar would run through him. Still, he is a great fighter….but I think this should put those “Greatest of all time” ruminations to bed.

Eatdagirls Says, in 2-13-2011 at 02:32:22 from

As much as i like MMA i never forget that the heavyweight division is nothing more than a freak show, Let me explain, Talent in any sport last but so long and has to be carefully managed. Take for example fedor emelianenko, here is a guy who looks like a regular at an irish bar, Fat and out of shape yet blessed with the fighting skills to produce some beautiful gems, fights that will never be forgotton. And the reason i call the heavyweight division nothing more than a freak show is because giving up 50 pounds sometimes more falls under the banner of side show, Fedor lost today but not to an opponent of equal size or weight, He lost to a giant with a 58 pound weight size and reach advantage, it hurts to see your favorite fighter lose but if all things were equal fedor would have whipped his ass.

a lost does not mean a fighter is done, there are just so much expectation from Fedor. He is still a topnotch fighter, okay he lost this one but that does not mean he is done. He lost to a big well rounded fighter, but that does not mean he will not be able to get back. If Fedor still has the drive, I say let him get back and prove that he is still capable.

Sad but inevitable (I guess) turn of events.

It’s good to see Fedor still got it- mauling like a blacksmith, but his punches rarely connected. And even when they connected- what a brick wall Silva is.

As to Silva- in spite of his size he did really good. Landed some good punches and was very agile.

Both fighters gassed out at the end though.
P.S. Don’t talk trash against Fedor please. The guy never claimed that he is special, unbeatable or the best. It’s what Internet/press/people made out of him. And given his age he is doing miraculously good.

Props to both fighters.
Special thanks to Bruno of course for the lightfast upload.

Doctors stoppage is a legit loss. Anytime a fighter gets his face bashed in to the point that a doctor says he’s beat up enough to call it done, thats legit. Remember, this is FIGHTING. If you bashed in someone’s face like that in the parking lot without a scratch on you, wouldn’t you call that a legit beat-down in your favor? Fedor would have just continued to take more of a beating in the 3rd round if they let it go anyway. Just like Royce Gracie was great at one time, so is Fedor. But the quality of fighters continues to advance and with it their style becomes more obsolete and ineffective. Thats just the way it is in the world of MMA.

M1= A Joke and I couldn’t be happier with the damage that’s done to them.

Fedor, although a great fighter, definitely over-hyped, over-rated. Kinda glad to see his time pass so we can focus on the real top fighters in the world.

Blarix Says, in 2-13-2011 at 10:38:23 from

Silva was on fight night 285 while Fedor was 230 and combine that with his height and it really shows how tough Fedor is. He actually is a LHW that bangs with guys who are 50 pounds heavier then him.

Wow. Fedor just looked way off tonight. He was extra sloppy and bigfoot capitalized using his superior size and positioning. It is definitely time for him 2 retire. He was the best heavyweight in the world for many years and he was one of the lightest heavyweights too. That deserves a lot of respect. No one can argue that he wasn’t the best heavyweight at his time…he out grappled nogueira when nogueira was considered the best grappler and out struck cro cop who was considered the best striker at the time. It is time for the new generation of big juiced up wrestlers and such to come through

whitesword88 Says, in 2-13-2011 at 11:10:38 from

Fedor is still the best fighter from prides old heavyweight devision. He could still beat Crocop, Big Nog, Heath Herring and the guy’s from back then but they are no match for todays big heavyweights including Overeem and his 60lb’s of new found mass.

Fedor needs to get away from M1. Besides his last two losses, he has fought cupcakes since 2006. There are a lot of wins on his record that “the best in the world” never should have been fighting someone that shitty. His record is very deceiving. He needs to cut to 205 and take his training serious with actual mma sparring partners.

nuno Says, in 2-13-2011 at 11:40:47 from

To dragon blow my nuts:

It’s easy to write, I would like to see Anderson Silva or GSP fighting with a guy 60 pound heavier. UFC as a champion that beat nowbody (Nogueira and Brock the fraude).
I think that it’s time for the next generation. I believe that Fedor is the greatest champion and for someone replicate it’s legacy it’s gonna take some time.

sve Says, in 2-13-2011 at 11:40:51 from

^ Fedor doesn’t cut weight and weighed in at 230, whereas Silva weighed in at 264 and was likely around 280 on the night.

He’s been able to get away with this for a while, but now the newer generation of heavyweights (which he helped to inspire) are routinely outweighing him by amounts unheard of in any other division whilst still being well-rounded.

and no other fighter will ever bring this kind of noble charisma, no other fighter will ever have the balls he has; think about it at 35 fedor comes undersized without cutting weight at all he fights a top ten guy that cuts weight to make it 265. not only fedor should fight at 205 but he could even fight at middleweight and on top of that he fights his guts out till a doctor stoppage. not to mention that he has been doing that his whole career fighting guys way heavier than him. but anyways to all the fake ass mma fans that don’t see or recognize fedors accomplishment and legacy, F*** u

Fedor’s heart just isn’t into fighting anymore and his training methods are from the 1950′s man.You can’t stand around and shadow box for 3 weeks and be at the top.Everytime they show him training he is either shadow boxing or sparring at about 30 to 50%.I don’t think he feels comfortable over in the United States either because all the f***** dumbass media people and the UFC running their mouth just because he would not sign his god damn life over to that bald headed c********* and now it appears that he thinks people are bitter toward him and its not him anyway its M1 Global. He is my f***** hero for telling Dana King I mean Don White to go get f*****.If he chooses not to modernize his training and surround hiself with better people then he should not fight again atleast not in the U.S where you have these cardio junkies now.real MMA fans love Fedor he is what Brock Lesnar dreams about being but that royal dickhead will never be a Fedor plus its obvious that Fedor does not use steroids.OH DAMN I forgot neither has Brock since he has never failed a piss test.I am LMFAO at anybody who tries to use a god damn piss test to prove they are not guilty lol.

The Last Emperor has Fallen. His reign of tyranny is over. This is why I been saying Fedor has been fighting cans. Several UFC guys would do this to him, not just Verdum and Silva. I wanted him to win so bad too, cuz he seems like a nice guy. Problem he is too small for Heavyweight and this is what happens when you face legit competition.

Brightland Says, in 2-13-2011 at 15:16:20 from

Fedor looked really bad and out of shape. It looked like he gassed in the first round and had no strength to fight in the second. I have a feeling that he didn’t even prep for this fight properly. He really needs to either retire or take his fat belly to the gym and work on his tactic, endurance and skills. I wouldn’t want to see Fedor come to fight in such shape again. On another note, Sergey Kharitonov was great and I really like the guy, but he is no champion material. Looks like it will be between Overeem and Barnet.

you are all forgetting 1 simply point; what a warrior Emilianenko really is! it takes balls & brains, he should receive a brilliancy prize for his wizardry in defense from the bottom against the larger Silva. He also showed tremendous heart & a tough as hell chin. All you zoofa zombies make no mistake it was only Big Foot Silva that could of pulled of what happened last night. Lesnar under those circumstances of having Fedor mounted would of been shaken off & subsequently beaten by Fedor. It takes some serious BJJ know how combined with a flexibility that Lesnar simply doesn’t possess; let alone toughness.

truly a great fight & game plan by Big Foot & an awesome show of heart & fortitude by Fedor!

This is a clear case for a super HW division.Silva fighting at 290 pounds on fight day when Fedor is at 245+/-?. Some can say it is Fedor’s choice to fight so small as HW, but he is on the bubble of weight class and could drop to 205 but that is not his natural weight. Now look at the hypocrisy on Dana White’s part when he says(on the subject of splitting the HW division at 205-235 and 235-260)”There are already too many divisions and belts to keep track of, we don’t want to end up like pro boxing where there are 60 belts and weight divisions at three pound intervels where the fans can’t keep track of who is champion”. Yeah so thanks for saying that and then providing us with three more divisions under 155 pounds where no one can ends a fight in 15 minutes.Meanwhile fighters like Fedor and Frank Mir are stranded fighting guys who weigh 50 pounds more than them, or dropping 30-40 pounds to get down to LHW. Give us the third HW division please!!

Ummmm. a doctors stoppage IS A LOSS. it’s called a TKO. Argue all you will, Fedor was getting smashed like Lada GaGa’s asshole at a tranny Bar.

Fedor was great, but he hasn’t fought ANYONE in the past 5 years. This is no disrespect to him – just stating facts. Fedor has a habit of taking alot of punishment in his fights before he finally pulls out the win. That’s a strategy that can’t work for long. For what it’s worth however, he really shouldnt be fighting at heavyweight. He could (and should) drop to 205. But alas that may all be too late.

Nevertheless, I truly think Fedor has nothing left to prove. He will always go down as one of the greats. I love the guys attitude amd soft spoken nature.

I will say one thing – Fedor said “the UFC will be sorry when I retire”. I think he was grossly mistaken, and I think his beatings would only have been worse if he had ever stepped inside the Octagon.

RuttenJump Says, in 2-13-2011 at 17:14:19 from

Once again Fedor fought a giant untechnical guy to make him look good without fighting top guys in the world…His management team’s plan backfired they wanted to give him “easy” fights before all the big names and he loses before. We can almost call it ring rust because its been a long time since he fought legit guys so no wonder he loses when he doesnt train to fight the bests and he looked like he had 0 desire to fight since Pride. If he has no desire to fight he should retire but he could be a top guy in LHW if he had more desire to lose weight and be in great shape because there’s no out of shape guys like him except Roy Nelson. It has to penalize him to fight bigger and more in shape guys

Couture revealed Tim as an awkward big man if you take it to him, Arlovski was doing well and got dumb, Brett Rogers… (who?) was doing decent until the end, Verdum subs him, Big Foot, way too much for him.

I do hope Fedor never fights Overeem, he might get killed.

Tempted Says, in 2-13-2011 at 19:20:09 from

By the way something else to think about is the fact that the fight should have been stopped at 2:30 0f round two. Fedor took a lot of unnecessary punishment because of his status. Any other fighter in the world and that fight would have been called but the ref didn’t call this one. It ended up making Fedor get much more hurt than he needed to. When someone’s arms are flailing like wet noodles when a guy is on top and dropping huge hammer fists the fight needs to be called. It was obvious he couldn’t defend himself meaning there were 2 and a half minutes of over kill. I hope Fedor isn’t hurt too bad because of the refs bad decision.

By the way Bruno, you have mentioned that betting on under dogs is always the better option, did you put anything on Bigfoot? If so, congrads. You could have really raked it in over this fight.

Renato Sobral, Semmy Schilt, Heath Herring,Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (3 times),Gary Goodridge, Mark Coleman (twice), Kevin Randleman,Mirko Filipovic. All in the prime of Pride. I bet you have the same opinion of Chuck Liddell. Feel free to not to ever post a comment again.

I love Fedor, but he’s no longer the best fighter in the world. He just gives up too much size, power, height and reach to be competing with the HWs. He’s also not the best at any skill, but over the past 10 years, he has found a way to win every single time with some really close calls. I’ve also Been hearing a lot of Anderson Silva > Fedor because of his last 2 loses, but how can you even compare the 2? Silva is bigger, taller, longer reach than most of his opponents at MW. Heck, even Silva would be bigger than Fedor in a match.
Anyways, how can anyone not be a fan of this man, who has never said a single bad thing about his opponents, never said he was the best, always humble and had heart to fight guys who were bigger than him. Last night, if the doctors didn’t stop it, he would of went on to fight. Thanks for everything Fedor!

Ahh, the heavyweight division, the only division where the fighters are no where near the same size. 4 inches of height and 50lbs of weight… like putting BJ penn against Ruo Shogun. That said, Silva still displayed an excellent skill set and was very methodical. He won this hands down, but fedor isn’t big enough to hang in the heavyweight division. The main reason he did so well 10 years ago, was because the heavyweight division wasn’t incredibly talented then, and the pride day heavyweights weren’t 280lbs. This was another freak show fight IMO, but unlike fedor’s previous carnival acts, the cards were really stacked against him here. If he couldn’t beat this guy, I seriously doubt he would have had a chance in hell against overeem. Sad sad day.

As soon as Silva took him down, less than 5 seconds into the 2nd round, you just kind of knew it was going to be a long round for Fedor but the beating he took was unreal.
The first round could go either way, the 2nd round 10-8 to Silva. Fedor loses if it went to the 3rd round. Its too bad he was in self imposed exile for so long between Pride and Strikeforce, I think we missed out on some great fights. You can see exactly who he was, even at the end of the 2nd round and not being able to see, he was still working to see if he could sneak a submission from nowhere, but it was too little too late and Silva wouldn’t have tapped to an ankle lock with that little time left in the round.

By the way, “PitfighterZ”, Arlovski has not done anything in the sport. He lost to Tim Sylvia – that says it all!

Even though I favored Fedor by a 60-40 margin, I knew the odds were way off in this fight. People flamed me on this site for saying Silva (and others) had a decent chance based on his size, strength, technique/ability. In today’s constantly evolving mma, you can’t be as inactive as he’s been and think your going to be on that top level. You add Fedor’s age and weight disparity and there is no way he should have been a 6-1 favorite against an underrated fighter like Silva.

Beast w/ 8 Limbs Says, in 2-14-2011 at 15:51:26 from

There have always been big heavies. Fighters like Tim Sylvia, Semmy Schilt, Bob Sapp, and Hong Man Choi, but as of late these monsters are developing monster skills. We’re seeing more and more legit HEAVYweights with tens of thousands of hours of jiu jitsu, or wrestling under their belts, and good hands. With all these assets, added to their huge size, a small heavyweight like Fedor has fewer chances nowadays.

All I’m saying is that maybe Fedor shouldn’t retire yet, but first try going down to 205 and taking on Feijao, or Henderson, or even Lawal, or Mousasi. Hell, they don’t have a half bad LHW division. He’ll have to start training better, and extending himself more to the top fighters for training. I just wouldn’t want him to go the way of Tito Ortiz, or Royce Gracie, among others, who were left behind, skill wise, in their own sport.

ETK Says, in 2-14-2011 at 18:56:36 from

I was amazed at how Fedor rolled to escape the full mount, then rolled again to escape the rear choke, a few times, that was smooth.
I was surprised at how Fedor swung wild and missed so much, and how Silva mounted him so promptly.
I’ve seen many fights permitted to continue with worse damage than that.
Fedor is highly rated in many categories; skills, precision, experience, athleticism, power, stamina, endurance, chin, composure, striking, wrestling, grappling, rankings, decorations.
Maybe Fedor, of all people, should have been permitted to continue, if he wished to do so, ref should have gave him the choice, at least a little longer.

The sport has moved past Fedor, he is the MMA equivalent to Cecil Fielder at the end of his career (including the belly).

Mulch Says, in 2-14-2011 at 22:56:07 from

Fedor has truly earned a top spot in MMA. He has done great things for this sport. And he is more than a champ. He is a legend.

Sans Says, in 2-14-2011 at 22:58:00 from

What this fight showed me wasn’t that Fedor is over, but rather that he can no longer beat a fairly skilled and durable opponent who dwarfs him. I hate the 60 pound range for the heavyweight class. Fedor is a bit pudgy at 230, and there’s simply no way he can beat someone so much larger. All other weight classes jump between 7 and 10% over the class below, but the heavyweight class jumps nearly 30%. Maybe Fedor could get down to 205, but that would be a stretch. They need a 230 pound class. Then we could see if Fedor is really washed up.

come on his sttriking is ugly but powerfull.Still Its far from any ufc champ’s stannd-up skills. If he was athletic we would be fit enough to be in 185.Thiago Alves weighs 206 pounds and he fights 170.Fedor is good but his God persona and communist mafia management just killed his career imo he stopped fighting good guys after Pride. And nobody wanted to tellhim to learn new skills in his training crew so eventually when you are good but you dont evolve(specially in MMA)people catch up to your skill level.I hope he doesnt retire .Imagine him with better and crisper boxing he would destroy everyone he has amazing grappling skills and he could be 205 minimum in athletic form.Nobody gives him props for fighting a guy 60 pounds heavier than him and doing a great fight.FEDOR WITH A REAL TRAINING CAMP AND COACHES IN 205= FUTUR UFC CHAMP.

mmaboxingfan2 Says, in 2-15-2011 at 01:36:44 from

@zayzay13 he never got his ass kicked. He got outweighed by 45+lbs. Im not making excuses for fedor. But bas rutten said it the best. Heavyweight should be 205-230 super heavyweight 230-265 too big of a leap from 205-265….Also alistair overeem takes this tournament easily easily easily.

acidhead Says, in 2-15-2011 at 04:07:18 from

Its also possible that the new overlying story here over shadowed by Fedors retirement ambitions is the emergence of a rising mma star in antonio silva. He is a great fighter who processes a stand up and ground game but most of all he can take a punch and suck it up. Just look at his past fights.. he can eat a punch like nobody else @ HW.

bobbo Says, in 2-15-2011 at 06:49:35 from

I see Silva winning it all. Seriously with that big ass head he can take a punch. My guess he wins it all. His takedowns and BJJ is just too good. He’s like a bigger, stronger, younger, better striking version of big Nog.

Bowb Says, in 2-15-2011 at 09:33:21 from

fedor got man handled big time. no wonder his management team didnt let him come to the UFC. can you imagine how fast brock lesnar or cain valasquez would have put him on his back, and their ground and pound is much harder too. fedors got balls and a kockout punch but its not very useful when your on your back. he should add some td def to his list of characteristics.

nagear Says, in 2-15-2011 at 10:30:07 from

“He got his ass kicked bye bye in the mma world.”

So unless the guy maintains a PERFECT record against prime fighters that outweigh him by 50-60 lbs he’s a nobody, done, finished, get the F*CK out of MMA – in your book (of SH*T)?

Stupid, ignorant and in-bread are an understatement to your intellect. You are nothing more than a peanut in my turd.

Sad day, really its a sad day, F*** the haters, and F*** the fake lovers, a true legend he really is and always will be.

He had a great first round. Unlucky the size killed him, hope he doesnt hang them up

bigfoots one ugly prick

Jack Says, in 2-15-2011 at 14:06:09 from

All this hating Zuffa zombies. Look guys if Silva
was in UFC he will be worshiped by dana,as if he
was greatest thing in the world. Big foot Silva
most likely beat anyone in the ufc. Silva have biggest hands I ever seen, and you get hit with that it’s over. I truly doubt Lesnar,Cain or Carwin can handle bigfoot.

tact Says, in 2-15-2011 at 15:57:53 from

This fight is a window into the style of Fedor, his looping punching style would lend itself to being annihilated by the like of Cain Velasquez, that mount was solid, granted he was outweighed by 50 pounds.

kenmolina Says, in 2-15-2011 at 20:58:16 from

too bad he didn’t take the UFC pay day for fear of being embarrassed by the best. now he’s being embarrassed by ufc hopefuls.
as far as silva-
i like strike force, and love a good match, but people who are going crazy over this kid because he beat up that washed up bum like fedor need to wake up. he got SMOKED by ufc cast away werdum, and he had to take clowns like arlovski and ricco rodriguez (lol, really??) to decisions.
i like werdum to take the title. no sweat.

RuttenJump Says, in 2-16-2011 at 00:58:43 from

Cain could beat Silva fairly easily.Silva got dropped last fight with a punh by a nobody and Cain has GREAT wrestling and 100x better stand-up.Still Bigfoot could win too if he manages to get it on the ground but still Cain would have a big edge

wow Says, in 2-16-2011 at 08:27:28 from

jack, you taking the piss..

bigfoot would be destroyed.. Cain and Dos Santos would chew him up..

Fedor won the 1st round, he got outsized in the second, and if you swell you swell.

i agree with the decision, Fedor is still in MO.. no the best HW in the world, but the one i like to watch the most, the one with the most alure, he is special.

kid candle Says, in 2-16-2011 at 14:07:56 from

Anyone calling Fedor a fraud and a hack and whatever else doesn’t know jack about martial arts and fighting and shows their ignorance and low intellect. You really make yourself look very stupid saying stuff like that but I guess it’s easy to post anonymous crap on the internet while having accomplished nothing at all yourself, especially what Fedor has accomplished, which no one else has. All the best fighters in the world are saying Fedor is awesome so who the hell are you all to be running your mouths?

hubcitytx Says, in 2-17-2011 at 01:41:35 from

Fedor is still the man, he was def oversized. Would like to see him at light heavyweight division though, that would be sick!

95%MMA FANS R CUNTS Says, in 2-17-2011 at 03:12:52 from

Fedor is a great fighter, one of the best but that doesnt mean its a fluk when another man tries and gets you to tap,or if you get beat by a bigger man, knowing the rules before the fight.

swamp donkey Says, in 2-19-2011 at 13:14:53 from

I can’t believe people are saying Fedor is crap!!! This guy was at the top for a long time and fought and beat countless champion caliber fighters! Whoever says he is crap doesn’t know crap about MMA this guy is a legend! I would like to see him at 205 and see what he can do against those guys, but if he retires…thank Fedor for so many awesome fights, you were amazing to watch.

RuttenJump Says, in 2-21-2011 at 18:21:14 from

anyone saying doctor stoppage isnt a loss never fought in their life.Fedor knew he was beaten. Some dummies will say Koscheck had the same thing but he could continue. But the fact is Koscheck was so injured he couldnt get on a plane because there was too many blood in his broken orbital, therefor it made MMA look bad to the athletic commsion and they told the UFC about not stopping the fight. So i think SF didnt want a slap on the fingers so they told their doctors to do their job and stop a fight when the guy is too badly injured. In any other sport a guy with this injury would miss a week or 2 even in Soccer or baseball. So imagine your job is fighting and your are losing with a broken face.I would be happy(not on the moment) to not need surgery because his face was severly damaged.
