Fedor Emelianenko will take on former UFC fighter Pedro Rizzo on June 21 in an M-1 Global event at the Ice Palace in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Man imagine how much better of a fighter hed of been if he was training at a real camp instead of being stubborn and beating the s*** out these nobodys
I’m impressed by Fedor’s agility. The dude moves very well for a big guy. I always thought that he was slightly overrated but he is a champ nonetheless. Beside, you never hear anything bad with him he is a true gentleman.
once a can crusher, always a can crusher
goat? b1tch please..
its so funny that people judge this man so harshly, his record is 31-4, he lost to 3 good fighters recently and everyone rides him off, sorta sad. compare him to say a randy couture, both very nice fellows, but randy was 19-11, and yet people trash on fedor a lot more…get over it people, fighters get old…
To small for the big dogs. He can lose 30 pounds of the flab, while keeping his speed and agility. That’s the only way I see Fedor making a comeback at this point.
Fedor comes to fight, always has. The guy has always shown heart, a true champion in his day and a real fighter for the mma history books. Although his days on any top 10 HW lists are imaginary at best, he still deserves a nod of respect. Writing him off as some kind of looser is just plain wrong.
the reason why people trash fedor is because they lack exposure to truth and are easily susceptible to anything promoters say..
for instance..
owner of company sees competition
owner of company talks trash on competition
owner of companies fans want competition
owner of company tries to sign competition
competition says no thanks..
owner of company talks more trash yet again
and the kicker..
young fans only listen to the owner of company and not to multiple views. they still think their country is the best at everything.. don’t see the big picture. don’t see the owners motives of power and money. don’t see that they have been fooled. and yet ignorance reigns..
He still has a gut and love handles…
People trash him because he had a chance to fight the best competition but turned it down because of money. So you have to ask yourself who is really to blame for his new found reputation.(HIS MANAGEMENT) He had a second chance to fight the best competition but fell short. I feel he may come back but the weight class has left him flawed because of sheer size . When he was younger his speed and accuracy made him the best, but age changes everything. Now he will have to adapt or fall deeper into weaker organizations.
metallicafan, I agree. And all these fans that say fedor was never good and all this and that are just plain uneducated and probably have not been fans for very long. He went ten years with ou loosing and as the number one ranked heavywieght according to all the major mma websites, magazines and considered by many ufc fighters as the top dog.. HE was without a doubt the most accomplished heavyweight but I agree that he might not be the best of all time. The thing is the sport has grown alot in the past 15 years. back when fedor was on top most heavyweights were not really well rounded like he was thats one thing that set him apart. He also was really good at keeping his composure. If he would have went to the Ufc instead of pride he would have been the most dominant Ufc heavyweight champion of all time. Prides heavyweight division was way better than the UfCs. (and before any dummy starts talking about like “o yea well were are all those pride guys now and jds and cain could whoop them all yadayadayada we are talking about when pride was in exenstence like up until 2006 or 2007. Anyway if fedor would have went into ufc in 2003 instead of pride he would have faced weaker competition and would have one the belt and defended it like 15 times. just think of the guys he would have fought over there. Tim silvia, gan mcgee, frank mir, justin eilers, andrie arvolski, jeff monson, big nog, randy couture, gabriel gonzoga. Some of these guys he probably would have fought several times because of the lack of competition. I Dont think fedor would have ran into any problems with any of the ufc heavyweights until he started fighting guys like jds, anc cain ( and one could argue about brock lesnar and possibely carwin)
carson hit the nail on the head
31-4 record and as soon as he fights anyone worth their salt he loses. He was never the best because he’s never fought the best. Every opportunity that came to fight the best in the world he turned down to keep fighting cans. I dont care how many times you won in a row when you’re fighting the bottom of the ladder. His career is finished and he will fade away and only be remembered by what he COULD have accomplished had he taken the initiative to fight the best in the world.
People trash Fedor because he ducked real competition for quite a while then when he finally got some he got beaten.
He’s a nice enough guy, but he sure got fed a lot of cans.
guys back in pride he did fight the toughest competition prides heavyweights were way better than ufcs heavyweights when pride was around. He beat all the top guys in pride. Yea after that you can make the argument of not fighting top guys but seriously do some research jeez
randy couture would whip dat ass
imagine if he trained with freddy roach to clean up his wild striking. hed kill anyone standing up
and he doesnt kick at all. he needs to evolve and add stuff to his game. hes so easy to read. people see what hes gonna do from a mile away
god, fedor haters are retards. mma noobs that worship anything dana says.
UFC wasn’t always the premier organization. Remember, Dana entered Chuck Liddel into the Pride Tournament and Chuck didn’t get past Rampage Jackson and rampage was demolished by Wander and Shogun.
Back then the UFC heavy weight division had either Tim Sylvia, Rico Rod, Andrei or Randy as the champ. Randy would move down in weight whenever he lost. I don’t remember if Andrei even defended his title once. Rico had the most potential but defeated himself with his drug habit and Tim got knocked out in under a minute when he finally fought Fedor. Fedor didn’t duck anyone. He was the champ.
Nothing lasts forever. Fedor got older, slower and eventually lost a few fights. Nonetheless when he was at his prime he was the best and had the most title defenses.
What heavy weight UFC fighter can claim that?
That people still fall for expired Dana White “anty-Fedor” propaganda is sad.
That Fedor was the best in the world a few years ago, is not open to debate.
The contenders for number 1 HW, back in the day were Nogueira, Tim Sylvia, Arlovsky, Randy Couture and Fedor.
Fedor beat Nogueira, Arlovsky and Sylvia. Nogueira beat Couture. Fedor had the best record.. that sums it up.
He will always be regarded as a legend in the sport.
I just cant help but wonder how good he could have been if he trained properly, dropped to LHW and got a real camp
Another way of putting it:
If Fedor was not the number 1 in the world back in the day, then who was?
Not Sylvia, whom he beat
Not Arlovsky whom he beat
not Nogueira whom he beat, thus not Couture whom Nogueira beat.
No questions about it, Fedor was the best.
I also believe that he could take out most of the top 10 guys.
LISTEN. WE all know why Fedor was losing these fights….
His Training was very Old-School… Right now we can see he stepped it up with Plyometrics and resistance training. I hope he also changed his training with modern MMA training and BJJ guys.
You have to Remember!! Fedor was beating EVERYBODY based on Old-School type of training and Old-School Sambo grappling. You have to give it up to him. He’s a brawler
fedor suckssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss asssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss he lost to bigfoot silva who got destoyed by cain in less than 2 minutes bioaccccchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh and fedor is same weight as kain …..kain will kill fedor and dos antos will murder his asssss
fedor suckssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss asssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss he lost to bigfoot silva who got destoyed by cain in less than 2 minutes bioaccccchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh and fedor is same weight as kain …..kain will kill fedor and dos antos will murder his
Fedor was great, the reason I started training actually. But I just can’t get excited anymore. He is owned by m-1 global. I’m sure he wants to fight in the ufc.. The guys isn’t scared of anyone. I think his priority is his family and his country, anything else is a distant second or third.
i think most of the haters are dumbass canadian fans whod rather watch their gay boytoy GSP hump some dudes for 25 minutes.
Great mma record, beat some of the best fighters in the world and most importantly Fedor always comes to fight! At the end of the day isn’t that exactly the type of fighter you want to see fight?
Trash that bum bob sapp all day but fedor deserves respect
Rocky Balboa
Everyone in this World knows Fedor…who knows a little rat like henerson…
Dude everybody needs to stop hating on Rizzo. He is a legend and deserves 1 big payday. Ohh you can still hate on Fedor, he will always be cemented as a blown up sack of s*** in my mind since he got knocked out by hendo.
the ufc record for heavyweight title defenses is 2. not a very strong crop of champs.
Funny how these nobody’s on here are calling Fedor a nobody.
the greatest of all-time for his generation.
stop comparing fedor to those after him. it’s unfair. werdum, big foot and henderson all beat a past-his-prime fedor.
in his prime, he was the best.
So accoring to most of you posers MMA didn’t begin until 2008.
Fedor was the best of all time.
Is he still the best? No the sport passed him by.
Plenty of NFL hall of famers would be too small and too slow to even make a practice squad today. Don’t mean they weren’t great in their day.
First of all: that was a cool vid but i could do without that music…
Secondly: Fedor’s only real “LOSS” was to Fabricio Werdum. Dan Henderson is now outted to be a steroid junky and the fight against bigfoot was a wash as it was doctor stoppage. He was still in it at that point 100% although losing that round. And even the Dan Henderson fight was an early stoppage.
So you n00bs and Dana White cum swallowers need to get a grip of reality and lay of the nut hugging. Get some real education about MMA!!
Additionally, those best qualified to judge or rate any professional in any sport or civil profession are the peers of said individual. In this case it would mean that the opinion of other fighters about Fedor should carry more weight than n00b fans or shady promoters, etc. So if you asked any of Fedor’s peers how great was Fedor you would get responses overwhelming supportive of his greatness. There are several documentaries or highlights detailing how during interviews fighters would always praise Fedor during his prime.
That carries more weight than Dana nut-huggers who cant string together a complete sentence much less have any idea about the history of MMA.
Fedor isn’t a nobody, but he was always nothing more than a can crusher. He beat former UFC champs after they had already been beaten in the UFC. The best heavyweights back then were just a bunch of fat guys who couldn’t go 2 rounds. You forget that he was getting smashed by Arlovski before he caught him with that shot. Fedor might beat someone like Brandon Vera but he could never compete with the top tier heavyweights today, even when he was in his prime. He has no ground game, no kicks, no nothing other than hands. Frank Mir would sub him in the first minute. I like Fedor as a guy and a fighter, I hate Fakedor as a “legend” or “GOAT”. He was never good. Being the best when there is no competition doesn’t make you good. Had he fought Chuck, Randy, Tito, Shamrock, Kimo, etc he would have been exposed back then. I think the reason he stayed at heavyweight is because he knew there was no competition. Moving down would mean he would have to fight guys faster with better striking, better cardio and better ground games. He would have been killed.
There’s always going to be a new and up coming fighters and to compare era is retarded. Fedor beat every HWs in his org. at the time.
Eventually all champions will lose cause of the wear and tear and age. A prime Fedor can beat any top UFC fighter currently..that’s all I got to say about this. But you guys are entitled to your opinion.
@metallicafan: Fedor does kick. He broke Monsons leg by low kicks, he kicked Crocop and fujita. He also kicked Big Daddy while on the ground.
3X World Sambo champ means you have no ground game? Ahhahahahahahahahaha!
Big Nog (2x), Cro Cop and a roided up Colemen were cans?
I can actually see him beat top guys. Its just he likes fighting aggressive and thats why everyone likes watching him. If he becomes more patient in fights, he will be a threat. he should throw some strait punches once in a while lol
He should drop down and fight Tito
To everyone making comments about what he needs to do, seriously get a rain check. Dude is considered by many as the greatest of all time and hes retiring after this fight.
Also just so everyone can get there facts straight. Josh bartnett former ufc champion beats randy and gets kicked out ufc for drug use and goes to pride. Loses in pride to cro-crop who loses to fedor. Also the only reason why people argue about fedor is because he didnt fight in the ufc. Question how did brock lesner do against overeem who in my opionion is a slightly weaker version of cro crop? How did the ufc become this monster where all the best fighters go? Didnt chuck liddel and jens pulver lose in pride? Didnt shogun, rampage, shogun, and anderson silva come from pride and become champs right when they got here? Isnt the last time silva lost a fight back in the pride days where all the real fighters came from?
Fedor got knocked out by a 45 year old middleweight lol Rizzo will probably knock him out next fight watch.
Pedro is going to knock him out unless the fight is bought. Pedro can’t be knocked out, and Fedor has a glass chin.
