Fedor has been crowned the Russian Combat Sambo Champion for the fifth time. Emelianenko is expected to be more prepared for this years World Combat Sambo Championships after tasting defeat in 2008 to Bulgaria’s Blagoi Ivanov.
Fedor’s quarter and semifinal matches took just 14 and 26 seconds. The final proved to be no obstacle for Fedor as he won it in a mere 20 seconds in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia.

It’s amazing how most fighters ,who are all beasts in their own rights, look like children when they fight him. He’s just operating on a different plane right now than all the others. While I hope Arlovski gets a rematch, I think it will likely end the same way again.
I like that throw he pulled off. It seems the guy was planning on pushing forward and fedor timed his movement just right then he cut a tight circle and the guy goes down face first. The best thing is that he was already holding the gi and he was set up for a kimura.
very humble guy. not in for the money or fame although it helps. imagine still fighting in this sambo fights w/c has no hype,quiet and not a big time show. not a lot of fighters pounding their chest or growling. just amazing humble person that’s why he doe not care about the policy of the ufc. he’s not going to give in to dana white…dana white is going to five in to him…guarantee!!!

Sambo is the main reason why he’s not in the UFC. I don’t think Dana wanted him to keep competing in Sambo matches if he was going to fight in the UFC. So Fedor does his own thing and can only be respected for that.
I think UFC forbids fighters to compete in other competitions (like Russian Sambo f.e.) That is the reason Fedor does not fight in the UFC. Correct me if im wrong.
Imo Fedor has nothing to prove in the UFC, the UFC champions have to prove themselves by fighting against him, as he won against 5 former champs so far.

The truth is Fedor doesn’t need UFC. Everybody thinks he is the current heavyweight chapion of the world, including of UFC, even if he doesn’t fight there. Dana will have to open his A.hole big time for Fedor if he wants UFC’s heavyweight division to have any credibility at all.
From all divisions, the heavyweight is by far the worst. After sloppy Sylvia, grandpa Couture and, now, superjuiced undeserving Lesnar, it is more then time to have at least 2 credible fighters: Mir (who beat Roids Lesnar and did not get a title shot) and Fedor.
Probably, Fedor will beat the crap out of Mir, but that’s a fight that I could watch.
For the record guys, Dana has been trying to get Fedor into the UFC, but has had difficulties with Fedor’s Management.
Fedor and Dana are finally going to meet face to face, since Fedor wants to fight Broc. The deal should be sealed this time without a doubt.

Mir has already stated he doesn’t think he would stand a chance against Fedor. I think Mir is probably the UFC’s best HW right now, and everybody is right, Fedor doesn’t need the UFC to prove he’s the best.
I hope Dana White man’s up and allows Fedor to come in to the UFC without any restrictions. If Fedor’s not impressive as Dana has stated in the past it shouldn’t be a problem pitting him against Lesnar.
Let’s face it, the UFC has nothing to lose but everything to gain in that fight. Fedor walks in mops the floor with Lesnar and leaves, everybody says “That’s what was supposed to happen, big deal”. But if Brock land a lucky shot and ko’s Fedor then the UFC has some serious bragging rights.
Man up and let Fedor write his own deal UFC, he deserves it so make it happen.
UFC offered him millions to sign with him but he turned it down because the contract was too restricting. And I can not believe Fedor won this match, I’m overwhelmed with suprise!

Fedor is THE beast of all beasts. But before we get into the whole Lesnar or Mir thing, I think Fedor and Barnett need to have a go at it. If ANYONE can do it right now I think its the baby face assassin.

Hey where are all the Fedor haters? When Fedor lost his first fight in Sambo late last year this blog was full of how Fedor was done.
I guess now that Fedor was crowned King for another year makes it hard to make a credible argument against him doesn’t it?
The Fedor vs Dana White theory is simple.
Athletics in Russia is a little different than athletics in the US. Russia owns it’s athletes…whether they like it or not…forever. Dana White isn’t negotiating with Fedor to come to the UFC…he’s negotiating with Russia. Feel free to ask the Chechens or Georgians how they fared.
Throne there might be some legitimacy to your theory, but I believe you are drawing on old Soviet tactics when athletes needed to be bought from the Soviet Union. The NHL was one of the first sports leagues to encounter this, but that has all changed long ago.
The athletes out of Russia have their own agents just like in they do in the west and they negotiate their own contracts. This is evidenced by hundreds of pro hockey players, and many top tiered tennis players and boxers to name a few.
As for your political mixing Chechnya and Georgia makes no sense here. Both countries were the aggressors against Russia and both paid dearly. I know here in the west we were told that the Russians invaded Georgia, but that was refuted even in our media about three months after the conflict. The Georgians foolheartedly thought the had the US’ backing and invaded South Ossetia and Abkhazia only to get their asses kicked. The hard core Islamic Chechnyans also started the conflict with Russia in hopes of separating. Maybe the US could learn a lesson from Russia on how to deal with that kind of aggression.
As for tying that theory into sports I have to say you missed by a mile.

Imagine MMA, Sambo and ADCC grappling in the same year.
Mousasi will also do ADCC and he competeed in MMA and K-1 last year.
