It’s funny to see that, no matter what people think about Fedor, he made it into the big leagues through very modest training camps, often outdoors. Besides being the most humble top MMA fighter I think he’s also the cleanest, I would really be sad to learn that he juiced.

I know fedor is one of those love him or hate him guys, but I love fedor because he always destroys his opponents mentally as well as physically. His opponents’ faces always show frustration. High finish rate but even when it went to decision, fedor had swarmed for 3 rounds while his opponent was on the defensive for most of the fight. It’s like how people go in there and try fighting anderson’s fight and try to react to him (unsuccessfully). I also appreciate that fedor takes risks, gets hit or slammed sometimes, but still always found a way to win (until lately of course). undefeated until 2010 with a 30 fight win streak will not be forgotten. I would have loved too see him as a gatekeeper for the UFC’s heavyweight division for just a few fights before retiring…. cry cry

Fedor is the man and always will be.
I doubt Douche white would let him in the UFC even for a modest price nor would m1 let him go there … but would love to see it even now and I don’t think he would be a gatekeeper I think he could possibly give us a cinderella man story. Fedor = GOAT

Strikeforce exposed Fedor for what he is..an overhyped can beater. He always managed to set himself up with fighters that were not on his level. But when he was matched up with fighters on his level in SF he lost over and over and over again. If he truly was the champion that everybody thinks he is then he would have kept fighting only the best that are here fighting in America. Which promotions like SF and UFC would have gladly made for him. But he cut and ran back to Russia. Oh well.

I think all of the Fador “haters” don’t really hate him…. I think they (we) really hate Fador crazy nut hugging fans. Fador has done nothing but fight his heart out every single time, and that’s all I can ask from a fighter.

I agree with @elvislad, the video display the fight too fast to be appreciated.

Seeing this, I miss Pride. I’m sorry but kneeing and kicking the opponent on the ground changes your game plan. In the UFC we are starting to witness fighter who use the hand or knee on the mat to save themselves.

Never a fighter would have tried this tactic in Pride, unless you want to get hurt.

Fedor Emelianenko, to my opinion, he will be remembered as “one” of the toughest and greatest professional fighter out there.

@scottc; “He lost over and over and over again”

I suspect that you haven’t been following this athlete since his debut.

Never understood where all the hype around him came from. The record he has is great in terms of wins and the years unbeaten… but who was he fighting? I mean, really, even the most hardcore of fedor fans could see he wasn’t exactly fighting the greatest fighters out there. If he really wanted to prove himself, he’d have signed for the ufc and fought the best available. Then he could be considered to be a “god” as some would say ^^. As it happens, he didnt fare too well in strikeforce so we’d have to assume that he wouldnt have stood a chance in the ufc. I know Im gonna get slated but its just an opinion. Never been one to jump on a bandwagon to make myself seem knowledgable and thats how i tend to view fedor fans.

Have people really not noticed that Fedor is on a 3 fight win streak since his 3 losses (which seems to me to be the only thing people talk about)?

Fedor was fighting (and beating) the best back in the day. Nogueira, Crocop, Sylvia, Arlovsky, Rogers were all ranked top 5 when Fedor fought them.. The can beater propaganda is old and ignorant, I would be embarrassed to write such things.

If Fedor wins this fight, the ufc should open its doors to him. I see Fedor still being a threat to any UFC hw in the rooster.

Pedro Rizzo has a slim chance to win. Fedor gave the secret to beating him to his old team mate Roman Zentsov, over 6 years ago. ;)

Fedor an overhyped can beater ???

Ohh hell no….It’s the rules in UFC maybe he don’t like.

Lemme see…was that randy coulture in there as well as cro cop? and some bigger dudes than him ?

TKO or KO them all.

kicking and punching and clawing with toe nails works!

^^^^ Says, in 6-18-2012 at 15:57:31 from

Fedor is and will always be the greatest of all time. He was smashing guys that were bigger than him left and right. Dana wants to argue that Fedor has fought only cans, but during that time, the dudes he beat were the big names. Look at Anderson Silva, most of the guys he faced aren’t even relevant anymore except Vitor, Chael and Hendo. Also Fedor was never had any advantages such as weight, height, reach such as GSP, Anderson Silva or Jon Jones. He was often the smaller guy getting beaten up and coming back winning. He has a decent run in Strikeforce, but wasn’t very active fighting few fights and has been in the game for like 10 years, which anyone knows in MMA is old.

murell Says, in 6-18-2012 at 17:06:50 from

Fedor was the Best heavy weight for a time, but time waits for no one,it Happens to all fighters eventually, even Jon Jones will start to back slide someday, that’s Life.

one of my idols. I’ve talked a lot of s*** over the years, because I loved him so much it was frustrating to watch him choose the wrong path. if he would have signed the contract when they first offered it, he would have been UFC HW champ. He would have eventually lost the belt to Cain or Dos Santos but there’s no shame in that. either way, one of the most prolific fighters of all time, (boxing, kickboxing, mma…whatever) I remember watching his Pride fights and thinking this pudgy white guy is about to get mopped up, and every time he won with a vicious ferocity that most people had never seen

say what u want about fedor but he crushed all his cans. gsp, anderson, randy etc etc etc etc etc all lost to cans at one point. fedor crushed them all

pourmis Says, in 6-19-2012 at 05:51:42 from

FEDOR=reason why I love this fighting game, he embodies everything that could be noble in this art, HE is the gratest of all time until we see another FEDOR which will not hapen soon
its really not only about hes fighting abilities or technique, its more than that, its the persona, the way he handled himself back in the beginning when all the other fighters were even more juiced up and crazy and he already was calm composed humble modest and s*** load of dignity , an example for all of us

Christian Says, in 6-19-2012 at 11:06:52 from

LOL “Who as Fedor beaten” You know when he bet Nog and Cro Cop they were the TOP HW in the world right? Yea he crushed some cans… while still crushing the best at that time.

Crop cop, fedor, and Big Nog have all fallen down the ladder… but you have to keep in mind that at one point they were CEARLY the top 3. Also wasn’t tim sylvia the UFC champ around then? LOL “Who has Fedor beaten”

Over hyped can beater, thats a dead on description. Ducked Brock in a fight he would have made more $ for than his whole career besides.

Nice to see Nog,Crocop,Arlovski,Slyvia,Randleman called “nobodies” and a “Can’s” by u learned fight fans. never mind it was at a time when they were at the top of the heap and some former UFC champions btw. but hey Haters gotta Hate regardless of facts.
