If as a fighter I had to fear being ostracczed by my own corner I wouldn’t pull that stunt.
i watched a few times. it did not appear to me to be a cheap shot. the one guys glove was up there and Alex didnt acknowledge it. Its hard to say. maybe that is why the guy responded how he did at the end. i dont know.
I didn’t really see the fake glove touch. What I saw was that Adam raised his arm to touch glove and Alex didn’t do it. You can even see Alex moving his head saying “no.” Just focus on Alex in the beginning of the fight, not Adam.
Then, Adam threw a left hand.
I think this one was just a normal confusion when a fighter forgets to ask before the fight starts if they are going to touch gloves.

despite all the comments above, I think it is difficult to pretend that he didn’t try to use the non-glove touch to his advantage. He tried to surprise the guy while the other guy thought he was trying to touch gloves. Maybe he did it with intent maybe not. Either way he used the glove touch as a distraction to get the first punch in.
also, you don’t raise your glove to touch and then keep walking forward until you have the other guy on the ropes. he was definitely up to something. I would rate this one up as more stupidity than a lack of class or sportsmanship.

Looked carefully and because Alex didn’t acknowledge the extended hand, the fight was on. Sad for the Brit that he didn’t have knockout power.

You can tell by how quick the cheap-shot came that he had planned on doing that regardless of if the guy touched gloves or not. His opponent had a lot better chance of blocking this shot by not touching gloves, but unfortunately he still couldn’t block it.

The good news is everyone this guy is ever going to face for the rest of his career is going to know what kind of a fighter he is. He’ll never be able to do this again and people love giving someone a taste of their own medicine.

Not only was that an ass faced, pathetic, unsportsmanlike, disrespectful, weasel, unethical and PATHETIC thing to do, but when the guy finally got KO’d (glass jaw btw), I actually wished the guy would have kicked him in his face – I wouldn’t have blamed him if he did. Some guys deserve a little “extra” beating from time to time and this douoche was a prime candidate.
