Werdum needs to improve his speed. He is not making a run for the title if it takes hims a full second to throw a kick or punch. JDS and Velasquez will just beat him to the punch every time.
It always pisses me off. The guy has technique, but he just won’t work his cardio and speed.

My eyes aren’t so great but I thought I seen a lot of shots straight to the back of the head.

Those shot all looked like the back of the head, which is odd that Herb didn’t say anything considering he’s the worst ref in the game and usually calls anything past the nose “back of the head”

Werdum simply isn’t comfortable in stand-up mode! no matter how they try to train him. The old adage goes: you can’t teach an old dog new tricks; and that definitely applies to him.

I’ll go on a limb & say he was outright lucky to have gotten the drop on Russow in this manner; thanks in part to Russow’s apparent pudginess & seemingly questionable conditioning, coupled with pathetic refereeing(rabbit).

im not really a werdum fan..but russo sucks even worse. im pretty sure russo will be lucky to have a job after this fight. he looked fat, slow, and out of shape. he looked like he didnt want to be there.

I think Werdum’s standup is doing much better, he even looked good in standup vs Overeem, but he decided to have an Anderson Silva moment and act a little strange by begging Overeem to go to the ground with him, which is ok for proving a point but not for winning a fight.
Werdum might make it quite competitive in a fight with Dos Santos assuming JDS gets past Cain.

Who is Russow and how, besides being the convenient can to toss to Werdum when invading Brazil with their franchise (the UFC) to ramp up popularity, is Russow relevant in the top HW’s?

Like where do these guys hang in between everyone?

give the guy a break he won didnt he won ,was great against nelson title shot why not fedor was basically unbeaten until werdum up set the odds again anything can happen

@Everyone above me–you are all very tough keyboard warriors. Prior to this fight Russow had 4 straight wins in the UFC and 11 straight wins in MMA overall. He is not a can. He’s a tough wrestler. He knocked out Todd Duffee while fighting with a broken arm (broken in first or second round). Not everyone in life, especially HWs, is cut like a bodybuilder. Russow is strong and well conditioned.
