Santos with a great win. Looks an athlete and was in great shape, unlike Werdum.

I guess Werdum can stop complaining about his position below Lesnar being a HW title contender. I agreed that Werdum got a bit of the shaft with the Couture vs Lesnar/Nog vs Mir mini grand prix….but Dos Santos cleared things up real easily

Classic grappler ko. He improved his standup alot, but that doesn’t mean he should stand with a solid striker. He should of closed the distance, pushed Santos up aginst the fence and gone for a takedown. Never trade with someone with power during the first few minutes, unless you are a better striker. Werdum could have used his improved striking in the second round when Santos was no longer fresh.

Verdum was talking up his weight gain as if he packed on the muscle in pre-fight interviews, then when I say him at the weigh-ins his mid-section reminded me of Big Tim’s (wide and soft)! We didn’t get a chance to see if it really affected him much with that early bomb by dos Santos.

There was no good reason for him to take that fight. I give him props for challenging himself, but he screwed himself out of a future title shot by losing to a newcomer. Now I want to see this kid on the ground- you’d think he’d be great with a coach like Big Nog- anyone know?

werdum looked out of shape. this is a big setback to his career. i thought chute boxe training would help his striking but he still lacked aggression. it was over to quickly to draw any real conclusions on Cigano.
