Koch definitely had the stand up advantage but it seems as though the guys up in WI need to work on the ground game.

Lamas is 1 Bad dude…Those elbows were BRUTAL with a capital B!!! Holy Cow. Koch will be lucky if he avoids permanent damage to that right eye. Fantastic finish for Lamas…no longer flying under the radar. I think Koch underestimated Lamas and thought he would walk right through him. Huge mistake.

It’s a good thing the fight between Koch and Aldo never happened because Jose would have destroyed him. Lamas proved that he deserves a title fight.

I’d really like to see a rule change so elbows to an opponent on their back are no longer allowed. It’s too easy to cut someone on the bottom. Not very sporting, and there’s probably some real danger of eye damage from a pointy elbow.

How much difference is there between a knee to the head and an elbow, when the head is on the mat and all the fighters weight is behind the elbow?? Answer: not much

— somebody will get permanently injured or killed if they don’t put a lid on it soon – the elbow has developed into a weapon when a fight is down on the mat and this fight showed how dangerous it has become
