Quintin Jackson (32-10) was scheduled to face Brazilian contender Glover Teixeira (18-2) in UFC 153′s co-main event. According to Teixeira’s trainer, John Hackleman, UFC officials are presently working to find a replacement opponent to keep Teixeira on the card.
Dana White announced the news via Twitter on Tuesday afternoon – “Rampage is hurt and out of UFC 153 RIO. SUCKS!!!!!!” White posted.

It would be a good matchup for Sonnen. He would take Teixeira down and likely dominate him on the ground. Really, who has can-crusher Teixeira fought? Well, BIG names like Peselj, Nascimento, Tosato, Melo, Tabera, and not to mention Eastman (who has won 3 out of his last 10 fights), Rodriguez (who has won 1 out of his last 8 fights) and Kingsbury who couldn’t even beat an ageing Bonnar. I don’t frankly think Sonnen or Gustafsson would have any problems beating Teixeira.

Damn… I wanted to see Rampage Fight. He needs a win. Ever since Jones…..
I would definitely like to see how a heavier Sonnen at 205 matches up. He may find it a bit harder to hold down some of the bigger guys who are equally as good on the ground if not better. I think Rashad would be a nightmare match up for him seeing as he’s in my opinion a lot more versatile than Sonnen.
