The most amazing knockout ever.. I’ve been watching MMA for a long time and that was definitely the most spectacular knockout I’ve ever seen.. just the accuracy of the kick and the aggressive look on his face as he was spinning and landed that thing.. Awesome

Not the most spectacular, but really awesome!
Etim is a great fighter and it’s sad to see him going down hard like that, but it just adds to his collection of exciting fights, even though he is on the wrong end of this one.

i dont find it all that great. maybe if he landed this on an anderson silva type of opponent but terry etim?? its like doing a rampage slam on my kid brother, it just doesnt have the same impact/relevance. also this was not FOTN

it was like in movies, the dramatic ending when the protagonist finally kills the antagonist, and they do that slow motion fall….just beautiful

Steven Seagal was perfecting that kick for the last 50 years jus so he could lend it to Edson.
Edson had to rent that kick from Master Seagal since he owned the rights to it.

I know the kicker felt so wonderful for feeling such a solid contact kick. Seething with hate is what I would be feeling. You don’t always get that chance for this ending. This is why I’ve never lost any fight. Bringing deep hatered into this fighting with skill makes you one dangeroud dude. ( BTW, I’ve only been in 6 or 7 fights and anly necessary). I didn’t go out looking for fights. Now I’m and old man with heart problems and disabled back so I am talking about my glory days.

It’s sooooo obvious that when the u.f.c goes to Brazil they always stack the cards in favor of the Brazilians just to appease their fans!

That was a wheel kick, which is utilized by many martial arts. It definitely looked like a Tae Kwon Do technique (I’ve practiced it for many years) but you’ll find wheel kicks in almost all martial arts that emphasize kicking. Karate has its version, as does capoeira.

Don’t be such a hater.Etim isn’t top 5 but he’s a great fighter and his striknig is his specialty so Knocking him that way is something.

I’d be willing to bet just about every martial art that has a focus on kicking teaches that kick. I’m sure capoeira has it, but from training tae kwon do i can definitely tell you that it’s a tkd kick. I’ve also heard it called a back swing kick in tkd, as well.

I’m not ready to call that the knockout of the decade, but that was beautifully executed.

Idk why the other guy said capoeira, but I affirm to it because my trainer had trained with him at the ABADA-Capoeira Academy in Rio de Janeiro.

I train with him at the armory, Its muay thai and thats it. LOL at the tae kwon do and capeoeira seriosuly LOL. HEs been doing muay thai under Anderson Franca his whole life and I have seen Franca teach this move over.and.over.

Edson Barboza has trained in capoeira (like a good 80-90% of Brazilian fighters lol) but his base art is no doubt muay Thai. His years in capoeira may have helped him hone the speed, timing, and flexibility to nail that kick but the kick is without a doubt a MUAY THAI KICK. It’s called CHORAKE FAD HANG which is Thai for “Crocadile Whips Its Tail”. All the tkd fanboys claiming ownership as if their art is the only martial art with spinning kicks is soooo hilarious. It’s muay Thai, people! Look it up! Youtube or google it!
