Why this fight was on the main card is beyond me. Boring from start to finish.

I knew Eddie would win, he had a good gameplan. Just needs to be a little more respectful, no need to disrespect your opponent when you already won.

Soa was a hugh disappointment this fight. I’m not a fan of Eddie Sanchez since I feel he’s just one-dimensional slugger. His only decent opponent up to this point was Crocop whom he was destroyed by. I was hoping this would be a slug-fest at the very least, but it ended up as one man and his punch bag.

Yeah.
Verdict? Eddie Sanchez doesn’t belong. Soa REALLY doesn’t belong.

Dude Soa is suspended until the end of JUNE with a BROKEN face literally.. he has to be cleared by an Opthamologist before he can fight he got so messed up… Sanchez is a loose goof-swing fighter.. and I could knock him out.. but ya gotta hand it to em.. his only loss is to Mirko CroCop……………. so seriously what can ya do but give him respect

I know Soa personally and I honestly think it was too soon for him to be fighting in the UFC… especially after such a long lay off. In the past 3 years he’s had less than a minute of ring time. UFC should relegate him to the WEC. It’s sad of me to say that… but I think it would be better for him.

BlackBeltKarate: you wish you could beat up Sanchez - if you could - you might be where he is? but for you, being the big man is apparently all about letting off hot-air on a forum, and going down to your karate lessons weekly! The only sensible thing you said was Sanchez’s only loss has been to crocop.

The rest of you: I have to disagree. I thought this was an excellent fight. OK it wasn’t your typical display of overt skill, but the fact is, this Soa Palelei is a huge mofo who really isn’t a pushover. Eddie Sanchez did what he had to to overpower this beast - and boy did he give Soa a hell of a beating before Soa conceded. Right up until the last round, you could see the bad blood and the verbal exchanges going on between them - they really hated each other. I loved watching Soa getting battered especially after he goaded Sanchez during the fight.

I’d love to see Gonzaga vs Sanchez…

granted soa didnt look at his best…but after 1 fight to say he doesnt belong is a bit harsh.its the first time he fought someone of that caliber…he came up short ..buts lets see how he comes back from this next time..then we will know if he belongs

Soa needs to go back down to the minors for a bit from the looks of it. He was just, overwhelmed by a fighter. I don’t think he’s quite ready for this level of competition yet. Sanchez worked methodically, and tried to push the fight. He fought smart, and didn’t get carried away or wild. I hope he gets some better match-ups though; and hopefully he’s been working on his ground game too…

Now Soa was in his first fight in the UFC and its gotta be tough on the dude, hard to keep track of his plan, his opponent has what 10 fights up? He held on through what I thought was poor coaching to tell him to use more hands when that was into sanchez’s strength.
Tell you what that sanchez is one disrespectful mofo and he aint got no friends in fightsport aussie any more id reckon.
Having known Soa and trained at the same places in West Aussie for a number of years i can well attest to his sportmanship, hes got a big heart and a thousand times the good energy. Least hes got friends mate.
