Log in to Reply Pope December 21, 2011 Bravo is really unorthodox with his whole game. It must be really hard to roll with him because he is so unpredictable. His omaplata sweep is awesome as well. You know he is good because he never tries to muscle any submissions, its all technique. Log in to Reply dznr December 21, 2011 Bruno: Why doesn’t Eddie fight in the UFC? does he not train stand up at all or his he just BJJ. Bruno: he said he doesn’t like getting punched in the face. Im not knocking Bravo, Takeya didnt attempt to use any techniques or counters, So all Bravo did there kinda loses its credibility Log in to Reply turbor37 December 21, 2011 Been to his seminar guys got mad skills My old teacher opened up a 10th planet with him!!! Log in to Reply BigPappa December 21, 2011 My bad. I thought it was a Wu_Tang track because it was on one of those Wu colab CD’s It is Gang Starr featuring The INS (Inspecter Deck) Log in to Reply GetSome December 21, 2011 3rd generation Gracies would total this guy. His game is very unorthodox with all of the rubber guard stuff, but so what? A high level BJJ guy would own him. Not taking anything away from him, but he is not an elite grappler like a lot of other guys. He just has a big mouth and acts like he is elite. I would take the Gracies style any day over this guy. I think he looks like an idiot with his clothing. Have some respect for martial arts and look like a professional instead of a homeless guy who throws disgusting clothing on. I also find it amusing that he is so no-gi and all that. His whole body is covered, including his ankles. That creates grip, which is not like the UFC where there are arms and legs exposed. Dude is a joke if you ask me and a zero compared to real martial artists. Log in to Reply wow December 21, 2011 Oh eat a dick Get some. This is good video for demonstrating rubber guard. Leave your my dad can beat up your dad bullshit at the door. If you can’t beat someone personally that just makes you sound like a whiny chump, so just take some tips on omoplata sweeps and shut the hell up. Log in to Reply MangyMongoose December 21, 2011 He tapped Royler Gracie in the ADCC finals jackass, he’s elite. Log in to Reply Really Dumb Guy Who Doesn't Watch The Videos December 21, 2011 Oh, forgot sumpin’ I love Tito Ortiz! Log in to Reply MangyMongoose December 21, 2011 Sorry, more of a jackass comment, not that you’re a jackass. Log in to Reply Rio_Warrior December 21, 2011 Im gonna call Renato Laranja to **** him up. Log in to Reply GetSome December 21, 2011 I know he tapped Royler genius. That is common knowledge. I don’t recall questioning that even though that was A LONG time ago. Notice how you ignore the obvious that Ryron, Rener, and Ralek Gracie would total this chump. I also noticed how you ignored his respect for martial arts by looking like a homeless fool in his own gym. Show some respect Eddie, looking like that is very pathetic. Rubber guard is neat and all that, I have used it. The point is that there are guys who would total this guy in a minute using more progressive submission techniques. Rubber guard is mostly defensive, not offensive. Sure, Eddie can use it to create submission, but not many can. Lets all thank Eddie for positions like rubber guard and crackhead control (a real position in his terminology). Other than that, this guy is complete garbage. Reminds me of Marc Laimon. That idiots claim to fame is passing Ryron Gracie’s guard. Not submitting him, just passing his guard. Wow, score a point and you win. I am so impressed Laimon. Log in to Reply Bernardo December 22, 2011 Eddie is a genius on the ground. Someone of his stature tapping top wrestlers and BJJ guys twice his size is no fluke. If he didn’t share his techniques he would be demolishing guys. But since he was cool and shared his knowledge, alot of counters to his techniques are now available. But that only makes his game better. Eddie will always be remembered for his part in the evolution of the game. Log in to Reply dilleywilley December 22, 2011 There are alot of mma fighters that can destroy othera. Why does that discredit his abilities? Until you have rolled with him don’t talk shit on his game. Log in to Reply Mexguit December 22, 2011 Isn’t GetSome the douche that always posts stupid crap on this site? Log in to Reply MangyMongoose December 22, 2011 lol, effectiveness over tradition, that’s why he doesn’t wear a gi. Your analogy is flawed because Bravo actually submitted a Gracie in the finals of ADCC. Log in to Reply johnclayburchett December 22, 2011 Goddamn you’re a ****in’ moron. Seriously. Log in to Reply Gogoplatypus December 22, 2011 GetSome, Yes, he did tap Royler a long time ago, but I bet if they rolled again, Bravo would tap him even faster. Bravo’s opened up dozens of 10th Planet gyms and further refined his technique in the last decade, adding more to his game. What has Royler been doing? The fact is Bravo beat Royler back in the day and was better than him, so unless Royler improved his game much more than Bravo did during this time, the same thing would happen again. I bet Bravo’s improved more with his innovations with 10th Planet than Royler has practicing the same GBJJ drills that lost him the match in the first place. Log in to Reply cms December 22, 2011 Why do you keep saying he looks like a homeless guy? Log in to Reply mmafan400 December 22, 2011 While Eddie, I honestly don’t think could hang with the top level BJJ guys, his techniques are still pretty interesting. And I think one of the coolest parts about BJJ is how it’s always evolving and changing…everyone has their game, kind of cool to see the unorthodox approach Log in to Reply dromios December 22, 2011 GetSome, you just sound like a bitter dumbass. “The top bjj practitioners in the world would TOTAL this guy, so therefor he is garbage.” Very logical argument. Martial arts isn’t about being pretty either, it’s his gym and it’s one of the fastest growing bjj gyms in the country, he can dress however the hell he wants. You just sound like a whiny little bitch. Rubber guard is very offensive if you find yourself on the bottom, I don’t think you even roll. Tool. P.S. The whole site agrees with me. Log in to Reply message to the **** face December 22, 2011 @GetSome You hold no valid points, first off you can roll in what ever atire you wish and his shirt ya ****en moron is called a rash guard and you can wear a rash guard in MMA (not UFC). Maybe you should go down to 10th planet and see how bad ass you are. I’m sure the guys at any 10th planet gym will welcome you in with that attitude. In my opinion rubber guard is the most effective guard to use in MMA and crack head control is an effictive possition (forget the name) look at the technique it’s highly effective for control. You say you’ve used rubber guard maybe your just not good at it or it doesn’t suit your body shape or you just suck balls. Either way have some respect to those that dedicate their lives to creativity intead of dedicating your life to masterbating to midget porn. End of message………… Log in to Reply ri December 22, 2011 Getsome, you;re ****ing idiot, calling Eddie a chump?.. where are your credentials?. Log in to Reply Ronin50 December 22, 2011 Is it possible to be a fan of both Eddie Bravo and the Gracies? Yes, here is one right here! I have respect for both. Geez, there are so many haters out there. I think some people just don’t feel comfortable unless they draw lines and pick sides. Both are evolving with the art and evolving the art. I have a personal preference for one style over the other, but that doesn’t mean I can’t sit back and appreciate what the other has done and contributed to the art. Log in to Reply ____Dave____ December 22, 2011 Eddie just gave him a bjj lesson. Log in to Reply Coetam December 22, 2011 HEY GETSOME You shouldn’t open you’re trap if you’re not well informed, how ’bout that? First of all, why the **** are you obsessing on how he dresses? He dresses with laid back clothes to match his laid back attitude(not to be confuse with lazy). Definitely not a ‘hobo’, wtf? Certainly not an idiot, considering he has INVENTED, along with his top blackbelts, new moves and sequences that fit into a comprehensive system that works in BJJ/Grappling & MMA, PROVEN! About the Gracies… Legit Gracie competitors such as Vinny Magalhaes, who is a Royler Gracie blackbelt AND just won the ADCC 2011. Javier Vasquez, a very well respected 145’er from WEC, and both Ryron and Rener GRACIE RESPECT his SYSTEM. Check out their breakdown of Chan Sung Jung’s (Korean Zombie) 1st TWISTER in UFC.! From the Alliance side, Robert Drysdale(Frank Mir) also uses his techniques, Demian Maia has shared half guard techniques(lockdown and dogfight) within him as well(Maia vs Quarry) If you don’t like the names of his techniques, change them! I bet Eddie doesn’t give a ****! In fact, I bet YOU are a conflicted little person who doesn’t understand what having an open mind means, I bet you’re a conservative ass whole who’d vote for Sarah Palin. Go learn some 10th Planet before you get tapped by one of the thousands of people who ARE learning the system and expanding their arsenal, all over the world. I’m from Ecuador, go figure. Bet you don’t know where it is… GET INFORMED BEFORE U START HATING AND COME ACROSS AS A COMPLETE MORON DOUCHE BAG Log in to Reply paulwonder December 22, 2011 Anyone who can all eddie bravo a chump has to be very skilled or just a pure idiot the guy is a wizard give credit were credit is due. Log in to Reply marvelous mad madam mim December 23, 2011 boring Log in to Reply GetSome December 23, 2011 The responses on here are so pathetic. I am allowed to say who I like and who I don’t like in martial arts. I don’t like the guy, so what? The people I like get attacked with baseless accusations and insults more than anyone in martial arts. Sorry, I don’t like people rolling in trashy gear. Any good martial arts facility requires that you look the part, as it is respect for martial arts. I also find it hilarious he proclaims all of this no-gi stuff when he has clothes on his body (specifically the ankle supports) that use friction to gain an advantage, I never said anything bad about his skill. He is very skilled and would total me in 5 seconds. I said I don’t like how he comes across. I really don’t care he tapped one of 100 Gracies. He would not be the first one to build an entire career off of one match. See Marc Laimon for more details on that subject. And you can save the insults that the Gracies do not evolve. You have never learned from them, so you can save it that their techniques do not evolve. One example is the triangle choke, which has evolved in several ways. I’m done with this post. Too many tools with no clue. Log in to Reply Coetam December 23, 2011 Hey Getsome, you ass whole! You can’t read well is it?? YOU ARE THE ONLY ****ING TOOL POSTING IN HERE! What the **** are you saying about no-gi!? I’d like to punch in the fcking face for being such and ignorant and arrogant little bitch! NO-GI, FYI, MEANS U CAN’T GRAB ON TO ANY PIECE OF CLOTHING, AS IN YOU DON’T HAVE THE GI COLLAR, SLEEVE, BELT, OR PANT SLEEVE TO HOLD ON TO..GET IT?? And you ARE DEFINITELY ALLOWED to wear ankle sleeves in both no-gi grappling tournaments and MMA. You are the type of person, martial student, fan that does not understand this sport and can clearly damage its rep. by saying and thinking uninformed shit like that! Go see if Jose Aldo or Anderson Silva, or Jon Jones look the part when they are training.. I bet you haven only trained a couple of times u little bitch. You’re supposed to sweat and stink after a good training session. ‘Trashy gear’ fits perfectly in that scenario. Now go stick you finger up your ass and **** off Log in to Reply Test December 24, 2011 MangyMongoose I think that you should know that Bravo didnt win Royler in finals but SEMIFINALS! Leo Viera schooled Bravo in finals. Log in to Reply chuckjbt December 27, 2011 To say that Rubber Guard is ‘mostly defensive’ shows that you have no idea what you are talking about. It is one of the most offensive guard positions there is. It does nothing but set you up for sweeps, offensive attacks and submissions. So I seriously doubt when @getsome says he ‘used it’.
