As with any up and coming fighter not in the UFC, I would love to see Alvarez facing legitimate competition in the future.
He’s a great fighter, but he is also showcasing his ability with lesser competition.
Great Job Eddie, Even though I wanted to see another wild sub from Mr. Triangle…lol
Eddie, please sign with the UFC.
Man! Bellator is kicking butt. I am Glad they are puttin gout great shows so UFC does not monopolize the sport. I just wish they made these fights availabe in regular ESPN…
@judonomi
dont really understand the whole ufc monopoly thing,,,it doesnt really work that way in sports..In sports unlike business the consumer benefits when all of the best fighters compete together. You gain nothing by having cuolda shoulda fights…look how much better the ufc got when it got all those pride fighters…how awesome would it be to throw aoki, fedor,alverez and others into the ufc mix…I do think that the ufc should let them fight in independent torneys and overseas but this could be achieved with the fighter unifying under some sort of CBA or union…
hell yea jason, you’re reffing great fights man.
Eddie would slay in the ufc !
’schultz Says’
You’re correct that mixing in great fighters outside the UFC into the UFC would make for some awesome fights, but if there’s no competition then fighters will never be able to make any sort of union because they’ll have nowhere else to go and so will have to give into Dana’s ridiculous demands. What we need is more fighters going to Bellator and Affliction to force Dana to be more reasonable.
Bellator is badass.
@cytrus500: agreed. The more high-level competitions around, the more opportunities fighters will have. With more opportunities, Dana will have to release the slavry contracts a little bit.
I still think the camps should get together in a big international association and the fighters should sign contracts with them. The championships like UFC, Bellator, Afflictiob. etc. would compete to get the best fighters without “owning” them.
That would make much more sense and be much more reasonable for fighters than the current model.
Eddie aint good enough fer the UFC, and damn, you see that paycheck? he’s stayin with bellator…
hes going to fuck himself up one day jumping off the cage like that
NIIIIICE!! BELLATOR is doing a great job, they just NEED to control costs…or… (see ‘Pro Elite’…)
danas like the suddam of MMA lol..i also would like to see eddie in the UFC..nd to the post eddie is not facing top competition, maybe not the best in bellator..but he has fought some of the worlds best and done very well over in japan
