Wow. maybe the best fight i have ever seen. Chandler just made me a fan

I’ve always thought that Eddie Alvarez and Frankie Edgar share very similar styles, and all I kept thinking about throughout this fight was how much it was turning out to be like Edgar/Maynard 3. HAHA so much for that.

Incredible fight. I’m surprised EA ate so many rights in the fourth. Chandler was desperate, gambled and won.

Great fight! I have no idea who Chandler is, but he seems to be a solid fighter.

Wow…that may have been the craziest fight i have ever seen!!!! Chandler and Alvarez came to fight…Holy COW!!!

Fight of the year candidate easily.. this was an AMAZING night of fights man…

Bernardo Says, in 11-20-2011 at 01:47:18 from

Wow that was an unbelievable war!! I can’t believe Chandler came back but EA got caught with now the infamous overhand right thats been taking the champs’ belt away (Such as Cain).

rubenator35 Says, in 11-20-2011 at 02:30:56 from

it wasn’t a easy win.
Good fight.

Damn that was a good fight. Bellator really needs to move away from UFC nights though, not sure its good strategy.

BAM!! What a fight!! After that second round I thought Chandler was as good as done. His legs seemed completely gone. He took a beating in that stanza. What a great recovery between rounds, a testament to his pre-fight preparations. I guess Eddie must have gassed himself going for the finish and didn’t recuperate as well as Michael did between rounds. I will be watching this one again several more times.

PitfighterZ Says, in 11-20-2011 at 08:55:21 from

Just awesome! The way Chandler recovered from the 3rd round was just insane. It should definitely be short-listed for fight of the year.

scottc Says, in 11-20-2011 at 13:16:29 from

What a terrific fight!! Back and fourth between these two and i was hoping that EA was gonna get the win but Chandler showed tremendous heart. Props to Chandler becoming the champ and hopefully there will be a rematch between these two warriors real soon!

These guys like Chandler, Alvarez, Frankie Edgar, etc. if you are unable to finish them when they get hurt, watch out! I always wonder why strikers don’t switch to submission attempts more often when they have their opponent hurt or on wobbly legs (yea, chandler did in this fight eventually, but he would have been content to keep striking had he not literally ended up in eddie’s lap)…

DavesNotHereMan Says, in 11-20-2011 at 16:57:14 from

Great fight, if it weren’t for Hendo vs Rua it would have been the fight of the night.

barn Says, in 11-20-2011 at 17:15:44 from

What a night of fights. Thanks Bruno, was worried I wouldn’t be able to see this one.

casyboy Says, in 11-20-2011 at 17:25:01 from

this fight was a mini hendo/shogun for sure, eddie looked a little off his game, kept eating that right hand, it looked like he had found his range around the 3rd but may have punched himself out a bit, chandler is a beast, very fast!

mscash Says, in 11-20-2011 at 18:20:52 from

I like how Alvarez can swarm an opponent and deliver accurate strikes. The thing about him is in the middle of his flurry of hits if he gets tagged on the chin … he is gonna drop for sure. He may rebound quickly but even the fight commentator(s) commented on how he gets hit hard, rocked, hurt, in every fight he is in.

Bring Alvarez to the UFC and watch another career lose steam. It’d be great to see Frankie kick the s*** out of his sorry Philly ass. TR would reign over Philly Alvarez.

JJ Says, in 11-20-2011 at 19:04:50 from

yeah – incredible fight. We just got 2 fight of all time candidates last night – one is Eddie vs Michael in the Bellator, another is Hendo vs Shogun in the UFC

MMAGiantSilva Says, in 11-21-2011 at 00:48:27 from

Always felt Alvarez was a bit over rated this helps confirm my belief. No disrespect to chandler he showed he is a top level guy.

lamdalu Says, in 11-21-2011 at 02:00:03 from

same night as hendo vs shogun????

KungFuLowKick Says, in 11-22-2011 at 12:27:25 from

To me that fight was better then Hendo Shogun. It was the best UFC fight ever but still that fight was way better to me.

Iron_Cobra Says, in 11-22-2011 at 21:01:33 from

I think he tapped too early. Eddie could have at least tried to fight the choke but he was hurt. Oh well next time.

kraziness Says, in 11-22-2011 at 23:23:25 from

Great example of a wrestler using wrestling to set up strikes. Take down transitioned into a knee, fake take down to set up a punch, and then real solid ground and pound. Very exciting young fighter. Great fight.
