UFC 91 MMA video of Dustin Hazelett Vs. Tamdan McCrory. |
now thats some sick Ju-jitsu, really good lock, dunno why everyone loves of Maia, hes good but Im only white belt and I can do a RNC.
This move is another level.
Why is there a pic of wayne rooney shown for this fight!
more sick jujitsu from Hazelett, very skilled
He just looks a little small/skinny for this division, he might have a harder time w/ the stronger guys in this weight class
Awesome fight. Both honorable guys. Violence and skill the best of MMA.
I see dustin hazelett being champ one day.
sweet fight, sweet omo
Hazelett is the man. Maia vs Hazelett anyone?
Definitely would of liked to have seen this one go a few rounds, it was a fun matchup even as short as it was.
2 different weight classes i’d rather see him and kos 2
Gerbil, if your even taking jiu jitsu, you would know that getting a rear naked choke is difficult on anyone on a professional level. to say you know how to do a rnc is not about simply getting your hooks in, and sinking it in, ur thinking of other things in mma, put hazellet and maia in a grappling match, maia would eat him alive, hes one of the best in the world, dont disrespect both maia and the art jiu jitsu with that shallow statement.
this is fight of the night. It wasn’t long but it was high-paced, skillful mixed martial arts. Gurgel v Riley was a brawl fest, both guys are crazy tough. But Gurgel has a black belt in jiu jitsu!!! wtf! I guess he likes getting hit in the face.
actually jiu jitsu wise i think hazelett would win. damian is an awesome jiu jitsu practitioner but he only knows the traditional bjj and doesn’t know anything about the rubber guard ( the jiu jitsu hazelett displayed at ufc 92). Thus, if anyone knows anything about jiu jitsu, it doesnt matter how good oyu are, if you dont know the moves to the rubber guard you can’t defend it. therefore, it will be another eddie bravo vs hoyler gracie.
rubber guard is the evolution of bjj. and its too bad only some recognize it
most skillful fight of the night!
I personally love the rubber guard and use it a lot in competition, but as with all techniques it is not infallible.
I personally don’t feel that the rubber guard should be taken as the definitive evolution of BJJ (or anywhere even near it for that matter) but just a series of techniques which can complement a solid set of basics.
Maia is by far the more experienced, accomplished jiu jitsu player, Hazellet is one of the best when utilizing it in mma, give Maia a few more fights with higher level competition, and you will see the smooth, although maybe not as exciting, classic technique. Hazellet is obviously an amazing jitu jitsu guy, not saying otherwise, just to say Maia is boring is purely wrong.
Great fight!!!

Amen to that.
awesome fight!!
the rubber guard was sick.
