Viking you’re right. Back in the Pride days, if they were Japanese or even just a fan fave (Wandy), they’d give em every chance in the world to come back. But they’d call it the second a Japanese fighter put a foreiger in a bad situation. Why is Denis Kang still fighting for these guys? He could be a gatekeeper in the UFC or even grab a quick belt or two in WEC or Elite. Don’t get me wrong I loved Pride, but the fact is it doesn’t exist anymore. Baka you’re nuts. Saku would get killed.

I at first thought the same as you with the matchups. But there was something wrong, the japanese don’t shamelessly promote themselves,if anything they make it harder. I had to do some research. Nakahara obviuosly has a japanese parent, he looks japanese but he’s a brazillionaire. I’m keen to see his mma debut, his Kyokushin is excellent but I think Saku will spank his ass, most japanese fighters don’t get an easy opponent on debut e.g Yosuke Nishijima v Mark Hunt. This card isn’t overly intriguing but it’ll be decent event, worth a watch.

P.s. JZ is gonna bash Aoki good’n'proper. Like last time but without the elbows to the neck. I think Shinya saw he was going to lose and took the opp to puss out, or maybe I just don’t like his tight ass rainbow pants.

Not true.

There is only one Jap v Jap (Tamura v Funaki). Kang, Yoon Dong Sik and Taiei Kin are actually Korean. Andrews Nakahara is Brazillian.

technicaly your right, i know dong sic yoon and kin are koren but i had no idea nakahara was from brazil with that last name i thought for sure he was japanese. i shouldnt have said japanese vs japanese,( i ment asian fighters vs asian fighters and non asian vs non asian and no im not at all racist) . that said i forget the japanese fans are into the japan vs korea rivalry so i guess it makes sense.

Not true.

this card kinda sucks…the only worth while fighter is sakuraba…but hes past his prime i think. also a lot of these guys arent really mma fighters, just straight wrestlers and jujitsu guys. i have really high hopes for dream because i prefer the japanese rules in mma, but with cards like this i dont see this getting very big. most of prides talent went to the ufc or other organizations.

Maybe fishy, but expected. The Jap’s do that with lots of tournies they run to ensure a Japanese fighter advances (in this case, four…). Watch some old Pride.

While I’m on the subject, anyone else notice how much damage a Japanese ref will allow a Japanese fighter as opposed to other fighters?

yeah trigg was contacted by dream to fight and he agreed but said nothing would happen till he had a contract in front of him. The japanese took that as an oral agreement that he would fight and matched him up against Ronaldo Jacare. i dont know if they knew or not but trigg was actually training Jacare to get ready for this tournament. they never sent him a contract but they called like a week later asking him if he was ready, he said what are you talking about i never got a contract sent to me, dream acted like he verbally agreed to fight and accused him of not fufilling his obligations. apperently now dreams upset with trigg and triggs upset with dream but i wouldnt be suprised if we saw him on another dream card in the future.
