Boxing generally does more damage due to the fact that boxers continue to fight after they’ve been knocked down repeatedly. Being honest doesn’t mean he’s against boxing, he’s just being honest.

I guess those kids saw “Never Back Down” also. He is right they should get some training. Even join the wrestling team like I told my son to do if he is interested in the sport to add to his BJJ classes. I just don’t want him to get caught up in that whole wieght cutting thing too much.

also, i think the boxing comparison was justified. ppl always compare the saftey of boxing to mma cause of the more restrictive rules, but in reality sanctioned mma events have no sport related deaths and boxing has tonnes

I find hilarious how kids watch UFC and think that they’re tough and that they can replicate what professional athletes do. LOL, it takes several years of hardcore mental and physical training to even get a shot at fighting professionally and most guys don’t even make it.

Smile for the cameras. Fighting my buddies taught me so much more than I ever learned from my wrestling coach or Karate instructor. There’s no question that if you ever want to be a pro you need to approach it as an athlete and train with other REAL athletes. But at the same time…even Fedors mom said yeah, he was a bully, he was always starting fights. I hate bullies, but he’s a badass. If you want to be a fighter then you have to fight. But making smart decisions is what it’s all about. If you get your head busted open in a parking lot, you’re a dumbass.

Kid are always going to mimic their idols, and they’ll always be fights – there’s nothing new here, the only thing that changed it the popularity of MMA.
DR P’s an annoying main stream ass that leaches onto pre-staged nonsense like the videos clips show. This is just a load of bullshit – but on the bright side – extra media coverage for the UFC.

It looked like these guys were doing a lot of the right things (save for sparring on a concrete floor with metal desks around). They were working on grappling and conditioning, not just brawling. It looks like they both have some wrestling experience as well. Don’t think for a second that they guy in the UFC today didn’t do what we just saw to a certain extent early on. Not everybody can afford the fees at Extreme Couture.

dana didn’t bash boxing at all.
and the guy who died did not die in the UFC. he was in a cage fight. i belive it was a problem with the guys brain and if he’d had a cat scan before the fight they may have caught it.
so no he didn’t die in the octagon if by octagon you mean in the UFC.
