Don Frye Pulls Out Of Yamma Pit Fighting Event

Don Frye has decided to pull out of a scheduled April 11 main event against Oleg Taktarov for the inaugural Yamma Pit Fighting promotion.

UFC 1 Vet Patrick Smith will now be the man to face Taktarov although a contract has not been signed yet. Smith has won 5 out of his last 6 fights and is looking to become more active in the fight game this year.

Oleg Taktarov recently emerged from a near 10-year retirement to win a fight by kneebar over John Marsh in November.

Don is a beast, I don’t care how old he is. Represent Arizona to the fullest! He might of pulled out due to another/better offer with a certain Kimbo Slice. Maybe its just wishful thinking but i would love to see it. WAR DON!! WAR KIMBO!! WAR!!!!!!

I like Pat Smith. He was one of my favorite fighters in the early days of the UFC. If you guys haven’t seen him fight, try to find and watch his old UFC fights. He was very exciting to watch. While I’m at it… I miss the old UFC format, where there were no weight classes and the guys had to fight tournament style (more than 1 fight) to win. Now they get to train for like 6 months for a single fight.
