Another bad judge call. Sanchez beat Jon Fitch. I don’t see how the could have called the fight that way.

Are you kidding? You don’t know HOW? It’s simple. It was a close fight. You’re acting like Diego actually won by a land slide victory but the fight was rigged.

It was close. Submission attempts versus control and strikes.

Bottom line, Sanchez has trouble with wrestlers because wrestlers don’t panic as long as they’re on top. The guard is not as effective against wrestlers because they make the bottom man carry the weight and they patiently work away at shifting body position when things get sketchy. Two examples from this fight (although there are more): 1. Sanchez’s guillotine looks close to a choke but it’s not because as soon as Sanchez tries to cinch it in, Fitch is already working Sanchez’s arm off of his neck and up over his head. This is what wrestlers do and why so many have cauliflower ear. 2. Sanchez goes for the triangle choke and Fitch turns his body and steps over. Another very standard body shifting maneuver used by wrestlers to get out of trouble. The decision really depends upon your scoring criteria. But if you truly want to panic and submit a wrestler, either get behind him and go for the rear naked choke, or put him on his back where he’ll do all sorts of stupid things in an instinctual effort to avoid being ‘pinned.’

I don’t know about sanchez having trouble with wrestlers per se, he was a state champion wrestler. Diego just wasn’t as good as Fitch. I don’t think there’s really more to it than that.

Diego totally won the fight! Just because you’re on top dosen’t mean you should win, they should count hits and damage inflicted. And for all the people in the crowd booing, what the hell is up with that? Diego is one of the best in his class and on such a close fight the booing was ridiculous!!!

fitch won both the first 2 rounds alone. he dominated the first and it went back and forth in the second but if you wanna talk about inflicting pain, yeah fitch did way more… so fitch got the first 2 regardless of the 3rd. fitch dominated the fight. had more take downs, landed more shots, and big shots. he countered anything diego had, and even broke all of diegos submissions. rewatch the fight and tell me how diego could have won. its an obvious decision. fitch dominated all 3 rounds. period.

I have to agree, Fitch completely dominated the fight. Everybody watching the fight at my buddies place was amazed at how good Fitch really is.

He fought a complete fight, and Diego knew before the end of the fight he had suffered his second loss in a row. You could clearly see it in Diego’s demeanor at the end of the fight.

Fitch won, plain and simple. The reason people booed Diego is because he is a punk beatch! People dont like attitude combined with arrogance, and Diego was that for a long time. He is getting humbled a little more now that he has lost a couple, but really, WHO has he fought that wasnt really a chump other than Josh and John, his only 2 losses?

i knew fitch would win this one, his size was just too much for diego. i have to say that diego impressed me in this fight though, his grappling was slick and he never gave up going for the finish even though fitch was constantly grinding him down.

i think a move to 155 would be the best for diegos career atm, some of the 170s are jsut too big for his relentless style. fitch looks good id like to see him against GSP or karo

Diego totally got dominated even he himself admitted it. Fitch was too strong for him. Then again Fitch should really be in the middle weight.

That was a close fight could have gone either way, I thought Diego fought the best that I have ever seen him fight. He was in shape and he brought it but Fitch was to strong for him. I gave the fight to Fitch because of those two Hammer fist.

I think Diego should power left and improve on the stand up.

These losses will help his game, if this kid gains more power and his standup improves he can very well rule the 170.

This was a close fight, but Fitch did get the better of Diego. I’m tired of hyped-up Diego fans always complaining about every little thing that doesn’t go Diego’s way. Diego is a great fighter, but he is far from unbeatable. Diego has been the beneficiary of some “convenient” decisions, as well.
